Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving skills are very important for students at the primary school level, but many students face difficulties in developing these skills. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of using the Problem-Solving Model on students' mathematical problem-solving skills at the primary school level. The method applied was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), by reviewing 10 articles published within the last 6 years. The research proved that Problem-Solving Modelling has a positive impact on students' mathematical problem-solving skills by encouraging them to identify problems, design strategies, apply mathematical concepts, and evaluate answers. The model provides an organised structure for students to improve their problem-solving skills efficiently.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of religious culture in improving students' emotional intelligence at Ulul Albab Islamic Elementary School (SD) Jember. Qualitative methods were used in this study, involving observation and interview techniques as data collection instruments. A total of 13 informants, including religious teachers, class teachers, the principal and other school staff, were selected by purposive sampling. Data analysis used the Miles Huberman and Saldana model, considering data validity through triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that the implementation of a culture of religiosity at SDS Islam Ulul Albab Jember, such as morning tadarus, reciting and memorizing chapters of the Quran, reading istighfar and doing ablution when making mistakes, as well as the implementation of dhuha, dzuhur, asr prayers in congregation, contributed to improving students' emotional intelligence. These practices create a supportive and empowering learning environment, where students can develop better understanding and management of emotions. This research provides a deeper understanding of the importance of integrating religious culture in educational contexts to improve the quality of learning and holistic student development. The implications of this research provide guidance for educational institutions to adopt and strengthen religious cultural practices in an effort to improve students' emotional intelligence.

Abstract

The initiation of reading stands out as a fundamental skill for students, serving not only as a foundational ability but also as a tool to comprehend the acquired knowledge during their school learning journey. This activity is specially designed for students entering elementary school, playing a pivotal role in their academic development. The syllabic (silaba) method, designed as a syllable-based approach, dissects words into syllables and subsequently reassembles them into complete words. The primary objective is to assist students who encounter difficulties in reading to better grasp and understand words. The primary objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the syllabic method in enhancing the initial reading activities of Class II students at MI AL-Ma’arif 02 jombang-jember. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, this research was conducted at Banjarsari 01 Elementary School, situated in Banjarsari Village, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency. A qualitative approach was employed throughout the study, and an interview guide instrument served as the primary tool for data collection. The study incorporated various data collection techniques, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed in this study was an interactive approach, aligning with the model proposed by Milles and Huberman. The findings of this study suggest that the syllabic method is indeed an effective approach for initiating reading activities, significantly aiding Class II students at MI AL-Ma’arif 02 jombang-jember in developing their reading skills. Additionally, the syllabic method is considered beneficial for teachers, providing a straightforward and easily comprehensible instructional medium for facilitating learning activities. The required instructional materials for teachers using the syllabic method are both simple and universally understood by students. Notably, the utilization of the syllabic method in the beginning reading activities for Class II students aligns with the specified criteria for the achievement of students' reading activities

Abstract

This study examines the need for developing a PAI-based digital LKPD to enhance spiritual intelligence among elementary school students at SDN 1 Ubung. Traditional PAI learning materials are less engaging, leading to low student motivation and superficial understanding of religious values. The research adopts a qualitative approach, involving interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal four key issues: (1) lack of interactive features in conventional PAI learning, (2) absence of reflection-based activities, (3) teachers' challenges in integrating technology, and (4) limited accessibility due to internet constraints. This study supports Keller’s ARCS Model, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Zohar & Marshall’s Spiritual Intelligence Theory, emphasizing interactive, reflective, and accessible learning. The findings suggest that a well-designed digital LKPD can enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and moral development. Future research should explore long-term impacts and effective teacher training strategies for digital Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) for character building of elementary school students. This study is motivated by the gap between the ideal condition (das sollen) of integrating AI technology in Islamic character building and the reality in the field (das sein) which is still dominated by conventional methods. Using a qualitative approach with a library research method, this study analyzes primary and secondary sources published between 2019-2024 from various scientific databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Sinta 1-3. The results show that the integration of AI in PAI learning has a transformative impact, with an increase in student learning motivation and understanding of religious concepts. The developed AI-based adaptive learning model consists of four main components: Islamic Values Integration System (IVIS), Personalized Learning Pathway Generator (PLPG), Character Development Monitoring System (CDMS), and Interactive Feedback Mechanism (IFM). Factors influencing successful implementation include teacher competence (very high influence), technological infrastructure, institutional support, and learning content suitability (high influence). The implementation strategy is developed in three phases: foundation building, phased implementation, and continuous evaluation. This research contributes to the development of an effective Islamic learning methodology by integrating Islamic values and modern technology, and provides a practical framework for educational institutions in implementing AI for Islamic character building of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the values of the Trilogy of Santri - responsibility for fardhu 'ain obligations, honesty in avoiding major sins, and noble character towards God and His creatures - at MI Raudhatul Muta'alimin Jember. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research explores the application of formal, hidden curriculum, and habituation programs in shaping student character. The results show that this integrative approach is effective in increasing students' awareness in carrying out religious obligations (85%), reducing dishonest behavior (decreased from 15% to 3%), and improving social interaction and environmental awareness (90%). This approach is supported by Kohlberg's moral development theory, Lickona's character education, and Gardner's multiple intelligences. This research makes a significant contribution to the development of a character education model based on pesantren values in the formal education system, especially at the primary education level.

Abstract

The integration of technology in Islamic Education (PAI) teaching at the elementary school level has become increasingly crucial in the digital era. This study aims to analyze PAI teachers' competency levels in utilizing technology, identify influencing factors, formulate optimization strategies, and develop a sustainable training model. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes primary sources from Sinta-accredited national journals and reputable international journals published between 2019-2024, along with relevant secondary sources. The findings reveal that only 35% of PAI teachers demonstrate high technological competence, while 45% show medium competence, and 20% remain in the low category. Key factors affecting technological competence include internal factors (age, teaching experience, and attitudes toward technology) and external factors (infrastructure availability, institutional support, and professional development opportunities). The study proposes a sustainable competency development model comprising four main stages: assessment, training, implementation, and evaluation. This model, supported by adult learning theory, has shown a 60% increase in technology-based PAI learning effectiveness. Recommendations include developing TPACK-based training programs, establishing teacher communities of practice, implementing mentoring systems, improving infrastructure support, and creating comprehensive evaluation systems. The study contributes to the understanding of technological integration in Islamic education and provides practical strategies for enhancing PAI teachers' digital competencies in elementary schools.
