Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the pedagogical competence of teachers in the majoring in culinary on the implementation of Curriculum 2013; (2) to describe the obstacles culinary experienced teachers in the implementation of Curriculum 2013. This study used a qualitative research with case studies (qualitative case study) to obtain in-depth information regarding the implementation of Curriculum 2013. The study was conducted in seven vocational schools in the Badung regency who implements 2013. The school curriculum is used in this research was determined by purposive sampling with the base CMS implements the curriculum of 2013. The subjects were all teachers Hospitality in vocational teaching in classes X, XI, and XII are used as a place of research. Meanwhile the object of this study is the pedagogical competence of teachers in curriculum implementation 2013. Data collection techniques used in this study includes observational techniques non participants, documentation, and semi-structured interview. Observation techniques are used to seeing the implementation of learning majoring in food service in class X, IX and XII to implement ccurriculum 2013 interview techniques used to obtain information readiness, obstacles to teachers in implementing appropriate learning in the majoring in culinary Curriculum 2013. The conclusions of this study were: 1) pedagogical competence of teachers catering services in Badung are in accordance with the demands of the curriculum, 2013. In connection with the activities Teacher Performance Assessment there are 7 (seven) aspects and 46 (forty six) indicators developed in respect of mastery pedagogical competence according to Regulation No. 74 of 2008. From the findings, it seemed that all the indicators have been achieved with the criteria very well. With excellent ability pedagogical competence will allow teachers to implement the curriculum in 2013, especially in the culinary learning.

Abstract

This research aimed at (1) describing authentic assessment preparation according to Curriculum 2013 by grade seven teachers in SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja, (2) describing authentic assessment implementation according to Curriculum 2013 (3) describing obstacles experienced by teachers in implementing authentic assessment according to Curriculum 2013 This research is descriptive qualitative study. The data were gaining by study documents, observations, and interview. The result shows that (1) the conformity of authentic assessment preparation based on Curriculum 2013 by the teachers in is 53.97% which category is sufficient. (2) Conformity of authentic assessment implementations by the teachers is 44.4% which category is sufficient. (3) Obstacles experienced by teachers are in terms of students’ number and lack of time in the authentic assessments implementation. In conclusion, authentic assessments implementation already measured the competence of knowledge, attitudes and skills of the students according to Curriculum 2013.

Abstract

This study was aimed to (1) Design and Implement Interactive Multimedia Development in Animation Key in Multimedia class XII SMK Negeri 1 Sawan; (2) Find out students responses and Achievment of Multimedia class XI toward Interactive Multimedia Development in animation Key. The types of research and development and using Dick and Carrey model, it involves Multimedia class XII SMK Negeri 1 Sawan in the academic year of 2014/2015. The source of data content expert and media expert are interview and questionnaire. Validity of interactive multimedia and student responses gained by using questionnaire, the data was analysed descriptive qualitatively and descriptive kuantitatively. The feedback of media expert then analysed thus, that media is valid and proper to be implemented in teaching learning process in the intened school. The results of student’s responses data shows that the presentase of student who gave very positives responses was 64,2%, presentase of student who gave positive responses was 35,8 %, and none student to gave doubt responses, negative or even very negative response, the average scor was 43,69. That scor shows that student’ response toward material development was in very positive chategory.

Abstract

Knowing students’ problems, especially in reading, is very important to design an appropriate and meaningful learning. From the problem identification, teacher can find the potency of designing and developing material to meet students’ need. Therefore, this study was aimed to identify the potentials and problems toward reading lesson faced by the eighth grade students of Junior High School. This study was based on the result of classroom observation, document study, and also checklists. The identification of potency and problems through classroom observation was done to obtain data on how existing reading material was used in teaching reading on the classroom. There was also document study to evaluate existing reading material and syllabus used for teaching reading. Then, the data from the teacher and students had been gathered by administering checklists. From the result of the study, it can be identified that the problems faced by the eighth grade students of Junior High School in reading dealt with topic selection, pictures or illustration, and reading activities, while the potency was to develop new reading material by using those problems as consideration.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the quality of 40-item multiple-choice taken from Reading III class in English Education Department. It was carried out in order to get clearer picture and provide feedbacks on how the Critical Reading test for the new curriculum should be developed and what factors should be taken into account when developing the test. The data were taken from 24 fourth semester students in English Education Department, Unidksha, Bali who took the reading test. The data were analyzed by conducting Classical Test Theory analysis with the assistance of jMetrik software. In general, the result shows that the test was consistent but it was easy and only 40% of total items are eligible to be used. Along the findings and discussion, some feedbacks are provided for future development for the reading test.

Abstract

This study examined the application of problem solving method combined with student centered learning (peer teaching) method as a mixed method to improve student’s passing level of financial management course. The object of this study was the 84 students of financial management course separated within two classes during the odd semester period 2014/2015, July until December 2015 with fourteen meeting courses. Data used to measure the results of the application is mid and final exam scores of both classes. Researcher used observation, interview and documentation as data collect technique also triangulation technique as data validity check. This study used problem solving method combined with student centered learning (peer teaching) method as a mixed method which included into the Classroom Action Research. The final results show the increase in class A passing level is 17%. Class B passing level increased 3%. From the research we also know that in practical use of mixed method learning, leader’s quality and conducive learning environment are influencing factors in improving student’s learning performance. While the result confirms that mixed method improving learning performance, this study also founds additional factors that might be considerably affecting the results of learning performance when implementing the mixed method.

Abstract

The problem faced by students is the difficulty of understanding on metal casting topic in the lesson of Materials Technology which is conducted by lectures only. The research objective is to find out the improvement of score on metal casting topic for 1G students from Mechanical Engineering Department, State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema) in odd Semester, Academic Year 2016/2017. Research method were facilitation of applied metal casting through pretest of metal casting, added a description of the design and modification of metal mould for Aluminium, visit to a home industry of Aluminium casting, students practice of Aluminium casting in a home industry, student groups presentation and discussion in the subtopics of (1) design and mould manufacture, (2) Aluminium casting practice, and (3) tensile testing with cast Aluminium specimen, as well as posttest on metal casting. The research result is an increasing in average score from 46.56 to 53.6 (22%) that means by adding the practice to the theory involved is increase a significant impact on understanding of Aluminium casting for students.
