Abstract

PT PLN (PERSERO) is a company engaged in electricity in Indonesia and plays a role in the generation and distribution of electricity to consumers. PLN has quality standards that must be met, one of which is a stable frequency even though the load keeps changing all the time. In electric power systems, the frequency value is an indicator of the balance between active power generated with a total load of active system power and losses. The frequency value will increase if there is an excess generation and conversely the frequency value will decrease if there is a shortage of generation or overload. If there is a disturbance that causes the large capacity generating unit to be release from the systems (trip), in this case the PLTU Pangkalan Susu and PLTU Nagan Raya will cause a decrease in frequency so that the Northern Sumatera interconnection system is disrupted. A large decrease in frequency can lead to failure of generating units in a row so that it can cause total system failure (blackout). To avoid a total system failure (blackout) a load shedding scheme with under frequency relay (UFR) is carried out. This research is done by experimental methods. According to this research, it’s been found that the setting of under frequency relay conducted by PLN UP2B Northern Sumatera is good, in this sense of blocking the system from blackout due to a massive power trip.

Abstract

In meeting customer needs while maintaining the stability of the power system, PT. PLN (Persero) conducted an acceleration program carried out on the generation system which was followed by upgrading of the main technical material (MTU) found in several substations both on 500 kV and 150 kV systems. One of the MTUs conducted by Uprating is a Circuit Breaker (CB) equipment 500 kV located in the New Balaraja Extra High Voltage Substation (GITET). The difference in manufacturer's brand is an obstacle to the Uprating process so that it needs to be done Wiring Modification. The test equipment performed is the quality of SF6 gas, insulation and contact resistance, CB opening and closing time, minimum coil voltage and capacitance testing that refers to applicable standards and then analyzed the results of tests with existing theories.

Abstract

Three phase induction motor is widely used in the manufacturing industry because it has many advantages including easy maintenance, efficient use in various fields, durability and easy construction. This is behind the massive use of motorcycles. but the 3 phase induction motor also has disadvantages such as high starting currents and difficult to regulate speed. After emerging innovations regarding inverters as induction motor starters, the application of the device expanded because of its principle which regulates the number of motor frequencies slowly so as to make the 3-phase induction motor more efficient.The use of an inverter is indeed a solution to the problem of starting a 3-phase induction motor and regulating the motor speed, but behind the advantages there are disadvantages that the inverter produces a low power factor when operating the motor. The highest power factor when the inverter is working is 0.748, the lowest value is 0.478 and the average is 0.634. Based on this, it is necessary to optimize the improvement of the power factor to restore the condition of the motor to a standard power factor rating of 0.85.This research discusses the optimization of the improvement of the power factor by installing the DC reactor on the inverter unit and the results of an increase in the value of the highest power factor of 0.942, for the lowest value of 0.908 and an average of 0.927. the value of harmonics in the THD I1 (R) phase for the highest value of 184,230%, then the lowest value of 83,764% and for an average value of 119,329%

Abstract

Bogor is one of the major cities in Indonesia where electricity demand is increasing rapidly every year. PT Sinar Energi Indonesia has large vacant land plans to build a 1 MW Solar Power Plant (SPP) in the Cileungsi area. This is supported by the location which is close to the Cileungsi substation owned by PLN (800 meters) and also SPP is suitable with the characteristics of the electricity load in the area where the peak load occurs during the day and the development of SPP will reduce pollution caused by thermal plants. Interconnection of SPP with Cileungsi substation requires separate analysis to determine the best interconnection design between SPP and PLN grid. The author will use ETAP 12.6 software for load flow, short circuit and transient analysis so that the interconnection design will not cause harm, both for developers and for PLN. From the simulation results with ETAP 12.6 software does not show a negative impact (small power losses, small voltage drop, and the value of the short circuit current that occurs does not exceed the capacity of the equipment), and if there is a disturbance in the SPP unit, the transient shows within 1 second, the system has stabilized. Beside technical side, the economic point of view from this Solar Power Plant will also have a positive impact with the planned electricity tariff value of 6,884 cent US $ / kWh, still below the local production cost value (West Java 6.91 cent US $ / kWh, ESDM Ministerial Decree No.55 years 2019). Therefore, this research is expected to be able to help the developer and PLN in interconnection of the Solar Power Plant Cileungsi to PLN grid.

Abstract

Disturbances are generally in the form of short circuits which produce large short-circuit currents, so a protection system is needed to be able to minimize the extent of the impact of the fault current. In medium voltage networks, protection is needed to secure the network from interference along the conduit. The problem that often occurs in medium voltage network systems is sympathetic trip disorder, namely the failure of the relay in the uninterrupted feeder to join the trip together with the interrupted feeder. This incident occurred in the Windu feeder when there was a short circuit interruption of the single phase of the ground feeder at the Kosambi Duri Substation. Based on these events will be discussed how the influence of the disturbance current flowing to the point of disturbance and passing through the feeder relay, for that reason there needs to be an analysis related to setting the working time of the ground relay on the feeder. From the calculation results when there is a disturbance in the compact feeder where the ground work time relay is worth 0.294 seconds (working) and for Windu feeder when the compact is disturbed it is -0.333. This minus value means that the relay should not work. It is suspected that Windu's feeder sympathetic is caused by an increase in phase voltage and creates new interference.

Abstract

Power shrinking events in the distribution network are unavoidable events, but the amount of power shrinking that occurs can still be overcome or suppressed to a minimum for that is the need to prevent the onsanion of large amounts of shrinking by means of maintenance and repair of distribution system equipment, the calculation of power shrink is carried out by quantitative method where the data retrieved is the peak current time data. From the results of the study conducted in The Bronze Purgator obtained a daily average shrinkage value of 5.37%, and the calculation result was obtained that the average energy shrinkage that occurred within a month was 3981,717 kWh.

Abstract

Waste of energy in a building causes increase in operating costs for electricity bills. To solve this problem, a building requires energy management planning. Energy Consumption Intensity (IKE) is used to know the energy requirements usage in buildings. Redesign the lighting and cooling system used a simulation model of room lighting and heat loads using the Dialux simulation software for lighting and DACCS for cooling. The results of energy simulation calculations using the Dialux and DACCS software,lighting that uses energy-efficient lamps and utilizes daylight, with inverter cooling with high coefficient of performance is proven to save energy operating costs of 6,904.32 kWh / month and 82,851.84 kWh / year. The results of the Life Cycle Cost that have been carried out show that the use of the existing system for 5 years costs Rp. 3,014,021,105. By using the redesign system costs Rp. 2,937,693,255. The redesign system can save as much as Rp. 76,327,850.

Abstract

Untuk mendukung program Pemerintah dalam pencapaian target 23% EBT pada bauran energi nasional tahun 2025, salah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan adalah memasangkan pemanfaatan sumber energi terbarukan lokal untuk mendukung pengembangan perekonomian lokal di banyak pulau-pulau di Indonesia yang selama ini belum teroptimalkan. Hal ini juga akan mendorong target ekonomi maritim untuk dapat berkontribusi sebesar 9% terhadap PDB nasional pada tahun 2030, dan sekaligus menciptakan sustainability dari saling ketergantungan antara sistem penyediaan energi dan kegiatan ekonomi yang memanfaatkannya. Penelitian ini akan melakukan tinjauan awal yang sederhana dengan memodelkan integrasi sistem PLTS berskala besar sebagai sumber energi terbarukan lokal ke dalam sistem tenaga listrik konvensional seperti PLTU dan PLTD yang banyak digunakan untuk melistriki pulau-pulau tersebut. Masih dalam rangka mengoptimalkan sumber energi terbarukan lokal, untuk mengimbangi sifat intermittent dari output sistem PLTS yang tergolong sebagai variable renewable energy (VRE), PLTA Pumped Storage (PLTA PS) yang memanfaatkan air laut akan dipilih sebagai sistem penyimpan energi yang PLTA-nya sekaligus mampu mengimbangi variasi output maupun fluktuasi yang terkadang ekstrim pada saat-saat tertentu. Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada pemodelan dari skema operasi serta perubahan dari skema formulasi economic dispatch untuk sistem pembangkit termal (PLTU dan PLTD) dengan adanya integrasi sistem PLTS berskala besar ke dalam jaringan. Pemodelan akan menggunakan sistem yang sederhana untuk memberikan pemahaman dasar terhadap fundamental skema operasi sistem konvensional yang menerima integrasi sistem VRE dalam rangka mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan sumber energi terbarukan lokal yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan di ribuan pulau-pulau di Indonesia. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan energi terbarukan lokal dari kombinasi sistem PLTS dan PLTA PS yang dioperasikan sebagai must-run units, dan pada formulasi economic dispatch diperlakukan sebagai beban negatif, yang pada akhirnya bersifat mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar fosil pada sistem tenaga listrik tersebut.

Load unbalance in an electric power system often occur to meet consumer needs. Distribution of the load that was initially evenly will experience an unbalance when the burdens. As a result, current arises in the transformer neutral, current flowing in the transformer neutral causes losses, losses in the neutral conductor transformer and current flowing to the ground. Abstract

Ping pong ball throwers are used as automatic ball shooters as a method of self-training and training the skills of professional athletes. By adding wireless communication, ping pong ball throwers can be controlled remotely. The controller interface is created using the App Inventor so that controllers can be carried out via smart phones. To get the ball throwing “service” required a combination of parameter values of the speed of the ejection motor and the angle of the servo motor.
