Abstract

This article analyses the text of bahtsul masail from the alumni of Lirboyo Islamic traditional boarding school focusing on the motive behind its publication, the basic concept of nationalism proposed by the text, the dominance of legal reasoning used in the text and its potential toward the readers. By employing critical hermeneutic approach, there were three stages of analysis, i.e. socio-historical analysis, text analysis and interpretation of the text. According to the analysis this research concludes that the recent phenomenon of the rising of anti-nationalism Islamic movement led by Hizbut-Tahrir and certain radical hard-line organization since 2000s has been the main motive of the publication of the text. This text also proposes the meaning of nationalism as the intention to love the nation and country and its consequences as a Moslem in Indonesian context. Moreover Qauliyah has had been used as the main legal reasoning to formulate certain concepts and this text might be less compatible for the prospective readers outside the Santri?s community. Because many arguments from Arabic resources scattered throughout the text in which still need depth explanation for the beginners.

Abstract

The research purposes are  to describe what educational value is in the lives of the Banjar community in Sungai Rangas Ulu village, Kabupaten Banjar; and  to describe the contribution of the educational values of the life of the Banjar community in the Sungai Rangas Ulu village, Kabupaten Banjar, as a source of social sciences learning at junior high school. A qualitative approach is used in this research. The technique of collecting the data are interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis starts from the reduction, presentation, and verification of data. The results shows that the dominance of parents in rural communities seems so clear that makes people feel dependent on the presence of parents or elders in the community. Parents are used as role models for community life. Moreover, educational values that arise from life, namely; religious, ethical and social. The form is in the form of; Religious; dominant religious activity, Ethics; inheritance of cultural values from generation to generation, and  Social; manifestation of harmonious relations between owners and cultivators of agricultural land. The contribution of educational values and social cciences learning resources is an integrated form of educational value and Social Sciences learning. The resources of Social Sciences learning must be seen as a unified whole in a learning process. Thus, they are practical and effective in the soul and human actions and objectively institutionalize in society.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan dalam kehidupan masyarakat Banjar di Desa Sungai Rangas Ulu Kabupaten Banjar, dan menggambarkan kontribusi nilai-nilai pendidikan dari kehidupan masyarakat Banjar di Desa Sungai Rangas Ulu Banjar sebagai sumber belajar IPS di SMP. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi; wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dimulai dari reduksi, presentasi, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan dominasi orang tua di masyarakat pedesaan tampak begitu jelas sehingga membuat orang merasa tergantung pada kehadiran orang tua atau orang tua di masyarakat. Orang tua digunakan sebagai panutan bagi kehidupan masyarakat. Nilai-nilai pendidikan yang muncul dari kehidupan, yaitu; agama, etis, dan sosial. Bentuknya dalam bentuk; Agama; aktivitas keagamaan yang dominan, Etika; pewarisan nilai-nilai budaya dari generasi ke generasi, dan  Sosial; manifestasi hubungan yang harmonis antara pemilik dan penggarap lahan pertanian. Kontribusi nilai-nilai pendidikan dan sumber belajar pembelajaran sosial adalah suatu bentuk integrasi nilai pendidikan dalam pembelajaran sosial. Sumber belajar pembelajaran sosial harus dilihat sebagai kesatuan yang utuh dalam proses pembelajaran. Sebagai kesimpulan, sumber belajar pembelajaran sosial praktis dan efektif dalam jiwa dan tindakan manusia dan secara objektif dilembagakan dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the phenomenon of the Christians and Catholics that imitate Islamic expressions in Banarjoyo village. The cordial relationship among Muslims, the Christians and Catholics of Banarjoyo village provide new nuances on the concept of passing. Using field research and collecting data through participant observation and in-depth semi structured interview techniques, the study reaches the following results: Christians and Catholics adaptation with Muslims activities in Banarjoyo village undergirds on three aspects of social interaction, namely parallel, associative, and cooperative. The processes of Christians and Catholics? interaction and participation within Muslims activities are the causes of the identification, and imitation of Islamic expressions. The main factor of the Christians and Catholics imitation of Islamic expression is because of their role identity and their feeling dissimilar that further make them try to assimilate with the dominant Islamic context. This assimilation and adjustment of Christians and Catholics behaviors as well as Muslims is what we called as ?Passing as a form of adaptation.?

Abstract

The main focus of this article is the construction of the middle class Muslims through representation and images in the form of Islamic films. Representations and simulations are used to maintain and strengthen the position of the middle class in Muslim societies. In the era of liberal capitalism, spectacle media is the most popular medium of society. The image is the main value in the media, which disturbs the society of capitalism to smooth the agenda of capitalism and consumerism. The main question in this article is how the representation and simulation of Islam is from the middle class Muslims in Indonesian Islamic films in post-new Order era? This article reveals the position of Islamic films as a medium of preservation of the religious values of the middle class that are displayed through film framing such as economic ability, education qualifications and political choice. The identity of the middle class is a value that is not only illustrated without ideological battles and the struggle for space in films, but at the same time becomes a religious ideological medium, especially the closed middle class Muslims ideology.

Abstract

The correlation between civil society and democracy is a big discussion in academic world. Democracy that engenders a civic culture usually linked into a tolerant behavior in society. This study aims to understand how the participation of individuals in civil society, in this case is BPK (fire fighter community) in Banjarmasin, cause them to become more tolerance in a pluralistic society. In addition, this study also examines whether the involvement of member to BPK in Banjarmasin make them as an individual who is more attentive and tolerant towards different groups or vice versa. This study argues that there is a correlation between a personal membership in civil society with their augmentation in tolerance attitude. The case of fire fighter community in Banjarmasin shows an establishment of a brotherhood among its members. The attitude of ?sanak ikam? or your brother brings up the attitude of civic members' tolerance of all the differences that exist in other individuals in general and differences in members of BPK in particular. Furthermore, on personal level, a member's attitude towards tolerance can also be affected by the diversity of members in BPK who their affiliated. However, BPK has the possibility of being a place for political contestation. On one side BPK has been playing a role in fostering tolerance in Banjarmasin society, on the other hand, it is possible in the future become a double-edged knife that even destroys the tolerance that has been formed.

Abstract

This research was directed to see the extent of the role of the Sufistic dimensions of economy behavior and the religiosity of Banjarese traders community. The purpose is to study the economy behavior and the religiosity of Banjarese traders community and to understand the Sufistic Dimension by using Sufistic Analysis and Max Weber?s theory. He argued that religion has implications for religious and economy thinking. Prof. Jacquen Austry argued that the Islamic concept of economics has perfection in economic practice compared to the concept of Capitalism and Socialism because it is based on the basis of Islamic teachings, namely the holy Al-Qur?an and the As-Sunnah which are absolutely true. This study is a qualitative research. It uses descriptive-analytic methods. It uses some data collection techniques; they are interview, observation and documentation. Understanding and belief in the Sufisitic Dimension which is considered important for understanding mystical privileges to open the invisible divine veils, but it can be felt as a belief in the blessing media in the area of ?Ihsan? in seeking of sustenance from God, then transforms the understanding of exoteric values into esoteric characteristics according to the religious experience of the Banjarese traders community when entering the transcendental region. Penelitian ini diarahkan untuk melihat sejauh mana peran dimensi sufistik pada perilaku ekonomi dan keberagamaan komunitas pedagang Banjar. Adapun tujuannya adalah mengetahui perilaku ekonomi dan keberagamaan komunitas pedagang Banjar dalam memahami dimensi sufistik dengan menggunakan analisis sufistik dengan menggunakan teori Max Weber. Dia mengemukakan bahwa agama memberikan implikasi kepada pemikiran agama dan ekonomi. Prof Jacquen Austry mengemukakan mazhab ekonomi Islam memiliki kesempurnaan dalam praktek ekonomi dibanding Mazhab Kapitalisme dan Sosialisme karena berpatokan pada dasar ajaran Al-Qur?an dan As-Sunnah yang mutlak kebenarannya. penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif melalui metode deksriptif-analitik dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Oleh sebab itu sebuah pemikiran tentang fenomena perilaku ekonomi yang berada pada komunitas pedagang Banjar perlu dikaji. Jadi pemahaman dan keyakinan terhadap dimensi sufistik juga dianggap urgen dalam memahami keistimewaan mistis guna membuka tabir Ilahi yang tidak terlihat oleh mata dhahir, namun dapat dirasakan seperti keyakinan terhadap media berkah pada wilayah ihsan dalam mencari rezeki Tuhan, kemudian mentranformasikan pemahaman nilai yang bersifat eksotoris ke sifat isotoris menurut pengalaman keberagamaan komunitas pedagang (religious experience) ketika masuk ke wilayah transcendental.

Abstract

Islam came to this archipelago, not in an empty culture of society. Cultural practices are actually accommodated and adopted and then Islamized. Islam does not displace the culture that lives in a society where Islam comes to enlighten the faith of the people. Islam straightens, gives value, meaning and reinforcement of a culture that has lived a long time in a preached society. There are three patterns of the spread of Islam in Nusantara, namely; integrative, dialogic, and integrated dialogic-integrative. These three patterns can be witnessed in religious traditions and rituals that are still practiced by the society until today. This research is a literature research (library research) that discusses the concepts around cultural acculturation in relation to the tradition of the maulid of the prophet. In the prophet's maulid there are various traditions such as in Yogyakarta as commemorated by the tradition of grebek mulud. In South Kalimantan there is a Baayun Mulud tradition. Maudu Lompoa around Cikoang Takalar, South Sulawesi. Then Babaca Maulid Nabi combined with the tambourine strains in Ternate. While in West Sumatra, known as Malamang and Mulud Badikia.Islam hadir di Nusantara bukan dalam masyarakat hampa budaya. Praktik budaya justru diakomodir dan diadopsi kemudian diislamisasi. Islam tidak menggusur budaya yang hidup dalam masyarakat di mana Islam datang untuk mencerahkan akidah umat. Islam meluruskan, memberi nilai, makna dan penguatan terhadap budaya yang sudah hidup lama dalam satu masyarakat yang didakwahinya. Ada tiga pola penyebaran Islam di kepulauan Nusantara, yaitu; integratif, dialogis, dan gabungan dialogis-integratif. Ketiga pola tersebut dapat disaksikan dalam tradisi dan ritual keagamaan yang masih dipraktikkan oleh masyarakat Nusantara sampai saat ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian literatur (library research) yang membahas tentang kajian konsep seputar akulturasi budaya kaitannya dengan tradisi maulid nabi. Pada maulid nabi ada banyak yang tradisi yang bervariatif seperti di Yogyakarta ada tradisi grebek mulud. Di Kalimantan Selatan terdapat tradisi Baayun Maulid.
