Abstract

Ulama in Banjar society take place as religious elite whose roles are very important. They used to be treated specially in practice, like being honored and respected. However, what if there is Ulama who is physically and mentally different (difabel). Do people treat differently? How do people then perceive it? This paper aims to see how the attitudes and views of people in the Banjar community towards the “Ulama-Difabel” – Islamic scholars with disabilities who participate in religious and community activities. This is a qualitative research with ethnography approach. It uses social model of disability theory. the results of this study explain that although the government has ratified the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 19 of 2011 concerning the Ratification of the CRPD, however, it cannot be called as the sole reason for the establishment of an inclusive paradigm that develops in society in a dominant way. In spite of that, the Banjar people interpret the existence of diffable scholars as a transcendent phenomenon because of the normative influence, metaphysical, and theological (Islam Banjar) views which both encourage each other to form social constructs with a paradigm of the Social Model of Disability in Banjar society. This phenomenon is also affected by some factors like people’s understanding toward diffabled condition, culture, education, and religious doctrine accepted. Ulama dalam masyarakat Banjar menempati posisi sebagai elit keagamaan yang perannya sangat penting. Sehingga pada praktiknya ulama sering mendapatkan perlakuan spesial, seperti dimuliakan dan dihormati. Namun, bagaimana jika ada ulama yang memiliki perbedaan pada fisik ataupun mentalnya (difabel), apakah perlakuan masyarakat menjadi berbeda? Bagaimana kemudian masyarakat mempersepsikannya? Paper ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana sikap dan pandangan masyarakat Banjar terhadap Ulama-Difabel yang turut serta dalam kegiatan keagamaan maupun kemasyarakatan. Kajian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Pisau analisisnya menggunakan teori Social Model of Disability. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pemerintah telah meratifikasi Undang-Undang Negara Republik Indonesia Nomor 19 Tahun 2011 tentang Pengesahan CRPD, tetapi hal itu tidak bisa disebut sebagai satu-satunya alasan terbentuknya paradigma inklusif yang berkembang dalam masyarakat, yang  kemudian mempengaruhi cara pandang masyarakat secara dominan, tetapi lebih dari itu, masyarakat Banjar memaknai keberadaan Ulama-Difabel sebagai fenomena transenden, karena dipengaruhi oleh pandangan-pandangan normatif, metafisik dan teologis (Islam Banjar) yang kemudian keduanya saling mendorong terbangunnya konstruksi sosial berparadigma Social Model of Disability pada masyarakat Banjar. Fenomena ini juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti; pemahaman masyarakat terhadap kondisi difabel itu sendiri, budaya, pendidikan, dan doktrin keagamaan yang diterima.

Abstract

This article’s aim is to discuss the strategies of radicalism preventing in mosques through strengthening Aswaja Annahdliyah’s Islamic-based of mosque takmir management that is tolerant, moderate, and upholds the Islamic principle of Rahmatan Lil-alamin. This field research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was obtained from interviews and observations. The results of the study mentioned that from 104 mosques in Kandangan Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency, only 96 mosques had been noted  in the Nahdlatul Ulama Mosque Takmir Institute (LTM NU), while 8 other mosques had been not. After the research was carried out, four mosques were joined and had become members of the NU LTM and implemented the takmir management of the Aswaja Annahdliyah based mosque. There are seven strategies carried out, namely; (1) strengthening management of the ideals (management of the physical building of the mosque), imarah (management of  the activities of the mosque), and riayah (management of mosque hygiene), (2) forming LTM NU at the sub-district and village level, (3) forming  management of mosques takmir by involving all elements, (4) making syllabus/ curriculum for worship timetable, education and ritual activities, (5) giving tasks to takmir to maximize mosque functions, (6) strengthening administration  management and symbolizing mosques, (7) strengthening social economic empowerment in mosques. The strategy of strengthening the takmir of mosques management has been aligned with Talcott Parsons’ structural functionalism theory with schemes adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and latency (AGIL). There are challenges and opportunities that faced. In the internal aspects, namely limited access to the city center, low human resources, and lack of comprehensive knowledge about the management of takmir of mosque External aspects, namely the existence of four mosques still controlled by radical Islamic groups, and often there are religious studies in mosques from radical groups.

Abstract

This article describes the meaning of education according to Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani by using library research and analytical study methods. Analytical studies used are analytical content and analytical descriptions of education according to Sheikh Nawai Al-Bantani. The result of this study indicates that the purpose of education in Islam is a reflection of the function of humans to worship God by achieving His pleasure, striving to eradicate ignorance, and striving to perpetuate Islam with the light of knowledge. His thoughts about educators and students reveal that the personality factor of educators is more important than other factors, whereas, students themselves, they should always hold fast to noble morals in dealing with teachers, both in the teaching and learning process or in interacting with teachers in daily life.Penelitian ini menguraikan pendidikan menurut Syekh Nawawi Al-Bantani. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan metode studi analitis. Studi analitis yang digunakan adalah analitis konten dan analitis deskripsi tentang pendidikan menurut Syekh Nawai Al-Bantani.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tujuan pendidikan dalam Islam merupakan sebuah refleksi dari fungsi manusia untuk beribadah kepada Allah yaitu dengan mencapai keridhoanNya, berjihad untuk memberantas kebodohan, berjihad untuk mengabadikan Islam dengan sinaran ilmu. Pemikirannya tentang pendidik dan peserta didik mengungkapkan bahwa faktor kepribadian pendidik lebih penting daripadafaktor yang lain, sedangkan dengan peserta didik sendiri hendaklah selalu berpegang teguh pada akhlak mulia dalam menghadapi guru, baik dalam proses belajar mengajar ataupun dalam berinteraksi dengan guru dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

This article intends to explore Sufism about the pluralism of religion. Khazanah Sufism is known synonymous with the esoteric approach in religion. Through this esoteric approach, the unity of religions or pluralism is very likely to be achieved, because all religions ultimately meet God. In Islam this aspect of esotericism is known to be discussed by Sufism or Sufi figures who have many concepts of unity (al-wahdat) such as Wahdat al-Wujud, Wahdat al-Syuhud, Wahdat al-Ummah and Wahdat al-Adyan. This article is the result of library research that raises the issue of Sufi treasures around religious pluralism. The study in this paper can be considered important, theoretically besides being able to enrich the treasury of Islamic thought more specifically in the field of Sufism, it can also strengthen the theological basis for understanding pluralism of religion, which at the level of praxis can encourage a more harmonious relationship between and among adherents of religion that different. Moreover, if so far the discourse on religious pluralism is considered to always refer to the works of Western religious scholars, those who define pluralism as the view that the One manifests to many or that particular religions are a response to the Almighty, in fact some Sufism or Sufi figures actually have long, first discuss it philosophically and deeply.
