Abstract

This study aims to determine  the level of bioaccumulation of metals cadmium (Cd) in mussel  ( Corbicula sp.) based on the value of bioconcentration factor (BCF). The sampling method was purposive sampling methode. The study  site was divided into eight stations, obtained the following results, Bioconcentration Factor ( BCF ) of Cd metal in mussel (Corbicula sp.) and water ranged 38.2301 - 315.2381 with an average of  101.0334, indicated Cd metal bioaccumulation in the mussel (Corbicula sp.) and water accumulated in the medium category. BCF value metals Cd in mussel ( Corbicula sp.) and sediment ranged 2.2857-8.0940 with an average of 4.7931 indicates Cd metal bioaccumulation in the mussel (Corbicula sp.) and sediment accumulated  in the lower category . Key words : Bioconcentration , Cadmium , Water , Sediment , Mussels , Musi River

Abstract

Research on the Structure of Phytoplankton in Lake OPI Jakabaring Palembang was held in January 2015 in the Lake District of Seberang Ulu OPI 1 Palembang, aims to determine the structure and composition of phytoplankton communities are didanau OPI Jakabaring. This study used a survey method. Phytoplankton samples were taken from three stations, namely middle, upstream and downstream in the lake OPI Jakabaring Palembang. Then performed and identification of the type and amount of phytoplankton from each lake water samples were taken. Physical and chemical parameters measured in field waters that include brightness, depth, temperature, DO and pH. Results showed that the community structure of phytoplankton in lakes OPI Jakabaring consists of 18 species of phytoplankton. The abundance of phytoplankton with the lowest density value between  28.75ind/l - 55.375ind/l. Diversity index of the three observation stations is low with the H’ 0,201-0,307. Key words: community structure, phytoplankton, water quality

Abstract

Research on Inventory the types of medicinal plants has been carried out in February-March 2015 in the village of Tanjung Baru district of Tanjung Batu Petai Ogan Ilir South Sumatra Province . The study aims to determine the types of medicinal plants are used and bian and the efficacy of the plant . Research using the direct orientation . The results showed that the types of medicinal plants divisio consists of 1 , 2 classes , 31 orders , 33 familia , 40 genera and 40 species. Parts of medicinal plants that are used as raw materials which have medicinal properties in the form of leaves, roots / rhizomes , stems , bark , fruit , flowers, seeds and sap . Efficacy of medicinal plants for people to use as raw material in traditional medicine . Key words : Medicinal plants, inventarisation

Abstract

The research about  identification insects at duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) plantation was conducted at Serigeni Lama Kayuagung village on  September till October 2014. The objective of this research was collect insects at duku. This research utilited the direct observation method during two moon. This method used insecting net, light traps and fit fall traps. Abstract

ABSTRACT Shigella dysenteriae an intestinal microflora in the human body that can cause diarrheal disease shigellosis or dysentery . The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of inhibitory noni fruit extract on the growth of bacteria Shigella dysenterie performed in vitro. The research was conducted in March 2015. The experimental research has been conducted on the manufacture of noni fruit extract, the extract concentration manufacture, and testing of the extract of the test bacteria. The results showed that the noni fruit extract has inhibitory effect on the growth of bacteria Shigella dysenteriae. At a concentration of 10% noni fruit extract was able to inhibit the growth of bacteria Shigella dysenteriae, and at a concentration of 80% obtained the highest inhibition zone. The higher concentration of noni fruit extract is given the greater the inhibition zone is formed. Keywords: inhibition, noni fruit extract, growth, Shigella dysenteriae

Abstract

Research on the structure of weed community in the gardens pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) was conducted in January to February 2015 in the Village Hall District of Talang Ubi Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency (PALI) South Sumaetra Province. The research aims to determine the structure and composition of existing weeds. Research using squares method with the unit area sample plot (Plot Analisys Method). Data analysis included density, relative density, frequency, relative frequency and importance value index. Results of the study found 10 species of weeds are Amaranthus spinosus (spinach with thorns), Ageratum conyzoides (babandotan), Cyperus rotundus (nutgrass), Phyllanthus niruri (meniran), Sauropus androgynus (katuk), Acalypha indica (kucingan), Mimosa pudica (daughter of shame ), Elusine indica (grassbones), Nephrolepis bisserata (nephrolepis) and Davallia denticulata (spikes closed). Nephrolepis bisserata a dominant weed was found, with the IVI 31.6%. Key words:  structure of weed, community, Ananas comosus L

Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch on the structure of zooplankton community in Lake OPI Jakabaring Palembang was held in November 2014 until January 2015 in the Lake District of Seberang Ulu OPI 1 Palembang, aims to determine the community structure of zooplankton that are in there. Zooplankton samples were taken from three stations, are the left, center and right of the lake. Samples are identified, and analyzed are abundance, dominance, and diversity index. Physical and chemical parameters measured in field waters that include brightness, depth, temperature, DO and pH. Results showed that the composition of zooplankton consists of 10 species, were Cyclops sp, Brachionus falcatus, Keratella sp, Trichocerca longiseta, Nauplius sp, Philodina sp, Alona sp, Diaptomus sp, Leydigia sp and Bathynella morimolpi. Abundance highest total in the three stations owned by Cyclops sp species, totaling 10 ind/l. The highest dominance index has a value of 0.206, so it can be said there is no species that dominated the waters of the lake. Zooplankton diversity at all three stations categorized as low, with diversity index between 0.136 to 0.212. Keywords: community structure, zooplankton, lakes OPI
