Abstract

Geology plays a role in various fields. In the field of military and national defense, geological branch that play a role is military geology. In Indonesia, there are no special units of military geology that handling of military geology. Military geology education was also not in the curriculum of the University of geoscience education providers. Geological training and education center is also not have modules and syllabus for military geology . These conditions is a challenge to provide military-geology education for personnel of military of Indonesian National Army , or to the geologists who are interested in working in the military

Abstract

Bioclastic limestones from Baturaja Formation cropped out at Muaradua area, South Sumatera is a good object of research for studying microfacies of limestone. Based on the rock features under the polarization microscope of the bioclastic limestones taking from studied area could be predicted the limestones are predominantly deposited at reef-flank and back-reef local basin. The main components T-F-P test of the limestones showing a significant difference of the carbonate grains, terrigenous grains, and neomorphism materials between two depositional environments. The other side, matrix, cement, and rock porosity components have no significant difference.

Abstract

Stratigraphy of Ombilin Basin area was interesting for make some research. The research did use remote sensing interpretation to made geological interpretation map which is containing information about lithostratigraphic unit distribution in Ombilin Basin area. LithoStratigraphic of Ombilin Basin from old to young were Brani Formation, Sangkarewang Formation, Sawahlunto Formation, Sawahtambang Formation, and Ombilin Formation.

Abstract

Sustainability of production of bottled drinking water is highly dependent and influenced by the condition of the recharge zone. Thus, knowledge and understanding of local conditions and the behavior of groundwater recharge to the springs is required. To get a decent source of water produced and minimize the impact can inflict negative, then P.T. Tirta Investama implemented several stages such as literature study, identifying the area, a preliminary survey, detail survey, EIA studies, the production (construction and installation), and recharge area study at least one year. Protection of water resources taken from the aquifer is not used by people around in general (aquifers) as well as against the source of water which is generally utilized by the population (unconfined aquifer) translated in the construction of a well borehole. Meanwhile, study catchment areas become the crucial factor in the management of groundwater, natural feedback input is one of the factors associated with the process of infiltration. From this study obtained distribution of the origin of groundwater (recharge) to the water that comes out (discharge) and the layers that tend vulnerable to groundwater contamination. Studies recharge area for a minimum of one year is a very important study as sustainable groundwater resource management efforts in order water balance in a region.

Abstract

The Quaternary deposits in the studied area comprises of river channel, floodplain, swampy which influence by rising and falling of lake level, lake, tidal-lake, and swamp deposits. These deposited separated by three depositional intervals (IP I-III). Vertically, the character of environment changing seems not gradually. These differences caused by dominant of tectonic effects. Therefore, climate was not important force in controlling the change of the environments. It’s mean, the sedimentary processes on the basin were under controlled by tectonic.

Abstract

ABSTRACTMajor cities in the north coast of Java developed in estuarine watersheds.  Genetically, sediment material scattered in the region.  Sediments of  weathering and erosion result,  is carried by a river sediment in the river estuaries.  Characteristics of the material-forming region, is dependent upon the crushed rock by river. Phenomenon of subsidence / land subsidence occurred in this many areas. Naturally, these regions experiencing land subsidence resulting from sediment material properties. This subsidence can be caused by various factors, for example due to soil load itself, so there is a decrease naturally. Consolidation is  included in the normal consolidation. Factors considered in knowing subsidence, is a load of soil itself on each layer of fine-clastic, so that can be known susidence due to overburden load. Within a certain timeframe land subsidence is still going to happen, especially in the northern part of  Semarang city (old city) which can be resulted in a tide flood so that it must consider its handling.  Keywords: alluvial, land subsidence, consolidation, overburden, tide flood ABSTRAKKota-kota besar di pesisir pantai utara Jawa banyak berkembang di daerah muara aliran sungai.
