Abstract

Location of research area was in Lipon-Gendang, Sungai Durian District, Kotabaru Residence, Kalimantan Selatan Province, there were into Tanjung Formation which had Coal Bearing Formation.Focused of subject this research was quality and potential of coal, and those have been coal distribution from several coal seam, resources prediction with used USGS methode, and analysis quality of coal from field research sample.There had been potential enough for coal from result of research. And that proved with have four seam were thickly between 0,2 – 3 m, and predicted of resources were 1.403.550 ton, and then quality of coal : calory average 5419,46 cal/gr and sulfur average 1,47 %.

Abstract

Chronostratigraphy in lower Kutai Basin is very interesting to do research, in this area borders of chronostratigraphy need Paleontology Zone data and global tectonic. Chronostratigraphy in lower Kutai Basin divided into four part : Interval N2-N3, N4-N8, N9-N13, and N14-N21.

Abstract

Soil in research areal consist of CH (clay, high plastisitas) and MH. (silt, high plastisitas). Soil activity at area of Jatinangor is vary from low activity to high. But in general soil activity is hidh-medium. Activity number by Seed is A = 0.40 until 0.86 with nature mineral of kaolinitic until ilitic. Stability of slope can be designed as according to slope-stability design. At exposition slope, slope with angle 45o, two terrace and ground water level at - 2 M, high of slope 5 M and level off 5 M, Safety Factor = 2.094. Soil bearing capacity for square, circular & continuous foundations have medium-high activity show relationship that: Increasing of soil activity value cause decreasing of value of soil bearing capacity. Safety Factor of slope and soil bearing capacity is very supporting of environmental aspect in Jatinangor development area. Geological evaluation of development area is required to study both aspect (slope safety and bearing capacity).Environmental management is required before the rains arrive, because ground water rate will increasing at rainfall condition. It is required to manage negative impact. It is required to anticipate or eliminated its impact, or generating positive impact to be managed by improving it. Environmental monitoring is required to be instructed as anticipatory effort of damages or effect of negative impact.

Abstract

Geo-electric investigation is done at Asrama Rindam areal, Sentani Resort, Jayapura Regenc, Papua Province. The investigationis required to detection of rock and subsurface condition. Methode of geo-electric to support for groundwater investigation to use the soldier need at the Asrama Rindam, Sentani Resort, The vertical layer are layer-1 as the soil, layer-2 as tufaceous brecia, laye-3 as tufaseous sand, layer-4 as tufaseous brecia, layer-5 as volcanic brecia, layer-6 as tufaseous sand, and layer-7 as volcanic brecia. The rock layer groundwater potencial or reservoar are tufaseous sand at the 10 meter and 49 meter depth.

Abstract

Fossil of Foraminifera, Nannoplankton, and Pollen were got into rock sample in lower Kutai Basyn and very interesting to do research. Paleontology zone were made for deliniation of rocks formation in lower Kutai Basyn. Paleontology zone divided into three part : Foraminifera zone, Pollen zone, and Nannoplankton zone.

Abstract

Oil and gas potential in Lower Kutai Basin were probably exist, those condition have checked from well petroleum system to support oil and gas accumulation in this area. Data integration of source rock, reservoir rock, cap rock, trap assotiation, and migration system in Lower Kutai Basin could be doing advance research to proving oil and gas accumulation.

Abstract

Stratigraphy of Ombilin Basin area was interesting for make some research. The research did use remote sensing interpretation to made geological interpretation map which is containing information about lithostratigraphic unit distribution in Ombilin Basin area. LithoStratigraphic of Ombilin Basin from old to young were Brani Formation, Sangkarewang Formation, Sawahlunto Formation, Sawahtambang Formation, and Ombilin Formation.

Abstract

Interpretation of remote sensing data on Ombilin Basin has resulted Geological Map Interpretation of the basin which is containing information about geological structure of the Ombilin Basin. Further more, this geological structure can be divided into two periode which are Paleogene geological structure and Neogen geolocical structure.

Abstract

Jatinangor require public facility. The facility need strength of soil bearing capacity for stable foundation in occupying each soil mass. Soil type in this area is CH ( clay of high plasticity) and MH (silt of high plasticity). Based on diagram of Cassagrande, area research reside between U-line and A-line, and soil type generally is CH, clay high plasticity.At soil which have medium-high activity, allowable soil bearing capacitry ( qa) for continuous foundation is between 31.450 until 52.884 T/m2. Soil bearing capacity ( qa) with activity number (A) show negative relationship ( R - 0.804058). Increasing soil activity caused decreasing soil baring capacity.Instruction of Environmental Monitoring Plas is done especially monitoring at condition of house building and also other medium building like drainage channel and bridge etcetera. Environmental monitoring is required as effort to anticipate damages of arising out effect of negative impact. Small damage is properly attention or improve repaired before becoming is big.
