Abstract

Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHA) is has become a part of computer security standard in order to distinguish humans from computers. This paper mainly discusses usability and robustness issues in CAPTCHA design and implementation. A brief introduction about CAPTCHA and some attempts to defeat CAPTCHA, including how to deal with it are also described in this paper.

Abstract

The development of technology has shown significant progress, especially in application architecture design pattern. Model View Presenter (MVP) pattern is one of the most important pattern used for extracting business logic outside of User Interface (UI) elements and by that enabling unit test without the need testing tools, and specifically geared towards for page event model in ASP.NET. Together with MVP, Object Relational Mapping (ORM) NHibernate is implemented to build a web base application. ORM is a technique to map an object to a database. It can be concluded that the implementation MVP and ORM to build a web base application resulting a well-performed and easily maintained application as well as it effectiveness when performing unit test, and also a clear separation layer between model, view, presenter.

Abstract

With the development of information technology, the map is no longer in the form of sheet or book. Currently there is a digital map services already invested in mobile devices. Google Maps is one of the leading providers of online digital map which can be accessed using the Application Programming Interface (API) is available using tools such as Qt. Qt is a C + + framework which provides a library to get the location using a GPS device to the library QtGeolocation. By implementing Dijkstra's algorithm, the problem of determining the shortest path towards a desired location of a user's location can be overcome. This study discusses how to implement the algorithm to find the shortest path Djikstra in Yogyakarta-based mobile devices.

Abstract

Pitch recognition is the ability to identify a pitch from a sound. This research focuses on recognizing the pitch of a trumpet much like the ability of a skilled human being capable of recognizing an exact pitch or note.  A software application using Java language is developed in order to explore on how to extract a pitch of a sounding trumpet and able to recognize the pitch played. Two experiments have been carried out in this study, one was to find out trumpet recognition rate as performed by novice and experienced players; and second, it was tested if it can and only can recognized pitch aside from other musical instruments. The first experiment generates a pitch recognition rate of 78%, while the second generates pitch recognition rate of only 13%.

Abstract

The research conduct a Part of Speech Tagging (POS-tagging) for text in Indonesian language, supporting another process in digitising natural language e.g. Indonesian language text parsing. POS-tagging is an automated process of labelling word classes for certain word in sentences (Jurafsky and Martin, 2000). The escalated issue is how to acquire an accurate word class labelling in sentence domain. The author would like to propose a method which combine Hidden Markov Model and Rule Based method. The expected outcome in this research is a better accurary in word class labelling, resulted by only using Hidden Markov Model. The labelling results –from Hidden Markov Model– are  refined by validating with certain rule, composed by the used corpus automatically. From the conducted research through some POST document, using Hidden Markov Model, produced 100% as the highest accurary for identical text within corpus. For different text within the referenced corpus, used words subjected in corpus, produced 92,2% for the highest accurary.

Abstract

Outsourcing is not new in this ever changing world. It refers to the process of subcontracting a process, such as product design or manufacturing, to a third-party company. Today, the IT outsourcing industry has matured. This paper highlights about outsourcing with emphasis on its scope of operation, importance and impact in the business process and industry in general. This paper describes the unique approach in a university-based knowledge product outsourcing. It presents a discussion on the different resources in the operation and management of the university-based knowledge enterprise. The inception stage in the development of the outsourcing model is also described in this paper. The outsourcing process model presented in this paper highlights the following: faculty and staff as the knowledge provider, infrastructure as the outsourcing facility, business sector as the knowledge seeker, University-based as the business process, and product cost and income as the sharing of limited practice of profession. This paper further describes the features in the development of an online knowledge product outsourcing as a platform for an innovative knowledge enterprise.

Abstract

Web server plays a vital role on serving requests from clients. As Internet users grows so fast, the request number increases significantly, thus reducing the overall performance of the web server. One solution is to implement a load balancing system. In this paper, we implement load balancing with Linux Virtual Server to distribute the load to several machines within a cluster. We compared Round Robbin and Least Connection algorithm. The study reveals that load balancing using LVS-NAT can double the throughput output compared to single web server, but less significant on response time and CPU utilization. Implementing LVS-NAT using round robbin algorithm is more robust in optimizing the throughput, CPU utilization, and response time compared to least connection.

Abstract

A simple eating disorder can create variety of disease. In this research, a diet menu created based on the needs of nutrition, using implicit enumeration method. The system will produce minimum price diet menu arrangement 3 times a day for a week, yet still fulfill customer’s nutrition need. Implicit Enumeration Method is used to generate the menu with minimum  price. More foods used in this calculation, the implicit enumeration utilization become more optimal. For 10 menus were used in the calculation, the node exploration will be 27.3% of the actual solution, whereas for 15 menus were used, the node exploration will be just 10.9%.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this research is how to predict the winner of football match with various criteria. The problem will be solved using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The AHP method that implemented to solve the problems will run two analysis to get an alternative solution. The first AHP method is criteria analysis, in order to get priority vector value. In criteria analysis, to know the consistency of criteria value filling, CR < 10%. If known that criteria value filling not consistant, the process must be repeated until CR < 10%. Then continue with alternate analysis to get global priority vector value wich is AHP solution. The accuration of this system is close to 80% compare with the real condition.
