Abstract

Business development requires research and networking. Even in their infancy, business owners need these things. It is just that often Technology-Based Beginner Entrepreneurs (PPBT) do not take this seriously. This activity's long-term goal is to create market surveys and networks that provide convenience in developing the PPBT business. The specific targets of this activity are: 1) conducting a market survey for Andalas University PPBT products (minimum 5 products); 2) implementation of business matching where PPBT is met with all stakeholders, especially business people who are relevant for the development of PPBT products as well as with buyers who can become buyers for PPBT products. The method used is by conducting market surveys to potential customers and conducting business meetings that bring together PPBT and all parties who can help PPBT business. The output of this activity is a market survey and business meeting. The activities obtained were marketing innovative products such as mangosteen peel teabags, Unca tea (Gambir) teabags, sorghum flour, honey peel-off masks, and coffee body scrubs are still tricky. This is because the production of this innovative product is not carried out continuously, and the selling price is relatively high compared to similar comparison products. It can be concluded from this activity that Unand's innovation product must compete with other products if it is to be chosen by the community. One form of strategy that can be done is to reduce production costs so that the selling price of the product can also be reduced. Another form of increasing sales of innovative products is by producing break-even points so that producers will not suffer losses.

Abstract

The Baramban Farmers Group, since 2014, has been carrying out healthy vegetable farming with vegetable products that have been certified Prima 3. However, until now, the management of healthy vegetable farming by the Baramban Farmers Group in Banuhampu District, Agam Regency has not experienced much development in farming because it has not created a broad market with prices that favor the welfare of farmers. Strengthening farmer institutions in marketing healthy vegetables is thus very important and have become an essential element in developing healthy vegetable agribusiness in local, national, and even global markets. The method used is counseling, coaching and mentoring. This service activity is planned to be carried out over the next five years, starting with building a cooperation agreement with the Baramban farmer group starting in 2020. Several alternative solutions to solve the problems of healthy vegetable farmer group partners proposed and agreed upon by the Baramban Farmer Group are: a. Carry out mentoring activities for healthy vegetable farmers by transferring resources from universities through integrated science an agribusiness perspective, b, empowering farmers based on group institutional strengthening to build collective action that is independent of farmers to drive healthy vegetable markets, c. Facilitate farmers to create healthy vegetable market segments through modern markets and online markets with information technology 4.0 and 4. Building partnerships with Transmart as a modern market on a national scale and has a global-scale marketing network. The conclusion is that farmer groups are willing to become partners of the Community Service Team in a community partnership program scheme to help businesses develop.

Abstract

The selling price of citronella oil is very low, namely 140,000 Rupiahs/liter and a low yield of 0.5-1.2% of the total refined raw materials are serious problems for citronella farmers in general and the Laiang Jaya farmer group, Solok, West Sumatra. In the distillation process, a large amount of liquid waste (hydrosol) is produced as much as 50%-60%. Hydrosol is an essential oil emulsion that is bound to water and still contains 0.02% essential oil. Insecticidal activity can be increased by adding plant material that has neurotoxic properties such as forest betel (Piper aduncum), which is easily found in forests and vacant lands in the surround of farmers' locations. Isolation of the active ingredients of forest betel is carried out with a distillation system so that it is not difficult for farmers to produce and surely increase their income through alternative use of distilled equipment when it useless. The purpose of this activity is to transfer knowledge related to the utilization of citronella waste into useful products such as raw materials for botanical insecticides. The methods used in this activity are education, workshops, training, mentoring and evaluation of activities. This activity has a positive impact on farmer groups. With this activity, farmer groups understand the importance of technology in product development, produced a prototype in the form of a botanical insecticide from citronella waste. As well as gaining knowledge related to branding and packaging of other citronella oil derivative products that are different from the usual ones.

The activities obtained are for the economic empowerment of Nagari Sungai Kamu, which requires growing micro and small businesses. This activity is carried out by coaching and mentoring by lecturers directly with three business actors. The result is comprehensive input from various disciplines, and this is sustainable by providing a discussion process (coaching and mentoring). The three micro-businesses that become the incubation tenants have problems in standardization, marketing, product innovation, business strategy, and overall business management. The activities carried out by PSM have attempted to incubate by dividing lecturers with various tenant skills. It is hoped that there will be recommendations and other processes that can evaluate and follow up on these recommendations.
