Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of temperature and duration of pressing the Hot Press Tool on the quality of the mold for areca nut material. The method used is taking betel nut samples to be tested with temperature variations and length of pressing time. From this method, it is expected to have a significant effect on the results of the Hot Press Tool, because of the change in the properties of the material from the areca nut to temperature changes. The results showed that the temperature value had a significant effect on the press product with an optimum value of 120 0C, while the pressing time did not have enough effect on the quality of the mold. Of course this result is very instrumental in making automatic Hot Press Tools specifically used in products from areca nut.

Abstract

The influence of rotation engine speed to coco fiber and coco peat yieldof coconut fruit from Jambi area has been done. The study aims to know the percentage of cocofiber and cocopeat produced based on the influence of rotation engine speed of decomposition machine starting from 225 rpm, 450 rpm, 750 rpm and 900 rpm.  Each round speed will operate for 2 minutes with 500 grams of raw material and use variation 5 and10 decomposing blades. The result show that(1) the rotational speed of the decomposition machine affects the amount of cocofiber and cocopeat produced. The highest percentage of cocofiber and cocopeat is at 450 rpm (2) The number of blades of the decomposition machine against the percentage of cocofiber and cocopeat produced. The highest percentage of cocofiber and cocopeat using 10 blades. (3) The maximum result of cocofiber and cocopeat obtained from engine speed 450 rpm is 28% cocofiber and 50% cocopeat.

Abstract

Plastic bag type waste is a type of Low-Density Poly Ethylene (LDPE) plastic waste whose presence in Talang Gulo Final Disposal Site in Jambi City is not touched by scavengers because it cannot be resold. This condition resulted in the destruction of this type of plastic bag waste by burning it. Destruction of plastic waste by means of incineration is risky to the environment because pollutants will emit pollutants from CO2, CO, NOx, and SOx exhaust emissions as well as some other pollutants in addition to the general nature of plastic waste which cannot be decomposed by microorganisms on the ground. Efforts to minimize environmental pollution due to plastic bag type waste will be processed using a pyrolysis method using a reactor with temperatures of 250ºC - 450ºC and 65 psi - 65 psi as well as energy-efficient condensers that have high thermal conductivity to produce fuel oil as energy sources. The maximum volume of fuel oil is obtained by a 6hour pyrolysis time of 2,560 ml at a temperature of 450 ºC. The test results for density parameters, specific gravity, water content, flash point, and heating value indicate that the fuel produced meets Indonesian fuel quality standards.

Abstract

With the current waste of rice husk, one way to convert energy-rich agricultural waste into an easy-to-use form by combining it into briquette fuel. Briquette fuel is defined as fuel produced from organic materials. In order for the rice husk to be used to speed up the process of becoming rice husk briquettes in rice husk briquette testing, 5 (five) tests of rice husk briquettes were tested. From the results obtained by rice husk briquettes with tapioca flour adhesive has been successfully made with a mold pressure of 2 Kg / Cm2, while the briquette diameter is 100 mm with a height of 5.cm and 8. cm. The results of testing the rice husk briquette heat value obtained were 5 cm rice husk briquettes of 32,221 cal and 8 cm rice husk briquettes of 32,130 cal, briquette burning rate of 5 cm was 0.054 g / sec and for 8.cm briquettes of 0.071 g / sec, The type of Briquette 5 cm is 0.898 g / cm3 and for briquettes 8.cm is 1.052 g / cm3.

Abstract

Cassava is a type of tuber that is very much found in the Jambi region. Cassava is easily damaged and decayed in a period of about two to five days after harvest, if it does not get good post-harvest treatment. It is necessary to process cassava crops into chips. To get the results of cassava chips that are good, there is a machine that can produce homogeneous chopped results. Besides that, it is expected that the cassava chopper machine can produce chopped with several forms of chopping. This study aims to make the design of multi-blade cassava chopper machines so that three types of chopping shapes can be produced with only one machine. Based on the results of the study, cassava chopper machines were produced with dimensions of length 630 mm wide by 390 mm and height of 450 mm. This machine uses a straight round multi-blade dish, waves and sticks. The capacity of this machine is 54 kg / hour and the power used is 185 watts.

Abstract

PT. Agrindo Indah Perkasa located in the new mining village of Meranginyang Regency produces CPO so far in controlling the supply of its main raw material, namely FFB, which only receives from farmers around because PT. AIP does not yet have its own garden. So that the efficiency of ordering costs and storage costs for raw materials are not optimal. This research was conducted to find out the raw material inventory control system applied by the company, the efficiency of inventory control of raw materials obtained, the analysis of Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and the extent to which the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method can streamline the cost of controlling raw material inventories. is a descriptive method and method of verification method. Based on the results of the study using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method, the number of orders that are economical is 303 tons / month, with the order frequency of 14 times / month. The point of re-ordering was done when the supply of fuel was 1357 tons. The total cost of inventory using company calculations of Rp. 66,300,000, while using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method the company only issues a total inventory cost of Rp. 26,346,428.
