Abstract

This research is based on the understanding of mathematical concepts using cooperative model of the power of two type based on problem based learning (pbl) better than conventional learning. This research uses quantitative approach with experiment method. The population in this study is the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 11 Merangin which amounted to 90 people consisting of 3 classes. Sampling technique using simple random sampling technique. The selected sample is class IX A as experiment class and class IX C as control class. Technique of data collecting through comprehension test of mathematical concept in the form of essay matter with the number of five items on the subject of kesebangunan. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is t-test, with its calculation assisted by SPSS program. From the analysis of the final test data in the experimental class using the cooperative learning model of the power of two type based on problem based learning, it is obtained on average 81.77 while the control class using conventional learning obtained an average of 67.77. Hypothesis test results obtained t count> ttable or 5.634> 1.671 then H1 accepted and H0 rejected. The conclusion of this research is the understanding of mathematical concepts using cooperative model of the power of two type based on problem based learning better than conventional learning on the material kesebangunan class students IX SMP Negeri 11 Merangin lesson year 2017/2018.

Abstract

The low mathematics learning outcomes obtained by students become a problem faced in mathematics learning. To overcome this problem, the teacher is expected to be able to choose the right learning model in the classroom so that the expected goals in the learning process can be achieved. This study aims to look at differences in the cooperative model of articulation type with conventional models on Mathematics learning outcomes. This study is a comparative study with the population is all students of class VII of SMP N 18 Merangin. The technique of collecting data using tests was analyzed using the t-test. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there was a difference between the cooperative model of articulation type and the conventional model of the learning outcomes of mathematics. Student learning outcomes taught with cooperative models of articulation type are better than conventional models.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in mathematics learning outcomes using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach with conventional learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The research design was posttest only control design. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of Merangin 9 Middle School consisting of 3 classes. The sampling technique uses Simple random sampling. Data on the results of mathematics learning using test techniques in the form of problem descriptions. Data analysis techniques used to test hypotheses using independent sample t-test after a test of requirements, namely normal distribution data and homogeneous variance. The results of the analysis of the final test data on the experimental class obtained on average were 70.78, standard deviation 15.45 and in the average control class 61.00 standard deviation was 14.02. Hypothesis test results show that tcount is 2.187 and ttable is 2.017. Because tcount> ttable, then H0 is rejected and Ha accepted, so it can be concluded that there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes approach Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) with konvensionl teaching seventh grade students of SMP N 9 Merangin the school year 2015/2016.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical problem solving abilities using the Questions Student Have strategy better than conventional learning of class VIII students of SMP 7 Merangin 2015/2016 Academic Year. This study uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method with a population of eighth grade students of SMP N 7 Merangin in the 2015/2016 Academic Year totaling 74 people. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling. The selected sample is class VIII A as the experimental class and VIII C as the control class. Data collection techniques through tests of mathematical problem solving abilities in the form of essay questions with the number of five items in the cube and beam material given in class VIII B. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is the t-test. From the analysis of final test data in the experimental class obtained an average score of 51.17, variance of 7.281, while the control class obtained an average score of 46.52, variance of 10.108. Hypothesis test results obtained, tcount = 1.84 and ttable = 1.68. Or 1.84> 1.68 this means tcount > ttable so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that mathematical problem solving abilities using the Questions Student Have strategy are better than using conventional learning by class VIII SMP N 7 Merangin 2015/2016 Academic Year.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical problem solving skills using the Two Stay Two Stray type cooperative learning model better than using conventional learning. The type of research used is a quantitative approach to the experimental method by connecting two variables, namely the cooperative learning model type Two Stay Two Stray as the independent variable and mathematical problem solving ability as the dependent variable. Posttes only control design research design. The population of this study were all students of class IX of SMP Negeri 2 Merangin as many as three classes consisting of 72 students. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Data collection techniques through tests of mathematical problem solving abilities in the form of essay questions on the material of the Roots and Forms of Roots. The data analysis technique used to test hypotheses is the t-test. From the analysis of the final test data mathematical problem solving abilities in the experimental class students obtained an average value of 34.04, while the control class students obtained an average value of 31.292. Based on the test requirements, the data analysis is normally distributed and homogeneous variance, then using a hypothesis test with the t-test obtained, and. Because it is accepted and rejected. Conclusions from the research on mathematical problem solving abilities using the two stay two stray model are better than the mathematical problem solving abilities using conventional learning of class IX students of SMP N 2 Merangin 2015/2016
