Abstract

Along with the increasing number of corruption, the role of visual communication is also increasingly necessary. Its role is as a maker of communications media that attract, encourage, and interactive. So the anti-corruption culture that wants implanted were well received and is embedded in the consciousness of the receiver behave. Article clarifies visual communication "Gooclean" intended for children and packaged in attractive web-based games to play while learning interests of children. The research method discussed is literature study for having the basic theory, comparative study observation with other anti corruption wesites, also interview with project PIC. The scope of Gooclean interactive web games is presented interestingly to increase children?s interest towards the presented material. This is presented by interesting illustration, challenging games, and visual concept that children will understand easily.

Abstract

The needs of up enhancing space qualities at home are often the reason to re-design a house. Nonetheless, the life needs that always changing make it hard to know how to create a house that can deliver spaces for the unknown future activities. These days, where resources are less than before, having a house alternation can also make the house more sustain and more energy efficient. Research is conducted to find way to realizing the idea of making a house greener through renovation. The methods used is by collecting and analyzing articles and books of eco design. The result is options of different approach to renovate a house by applying eco design strategies to achieve a sustainable and an energy efficient living space to be lived in today and in the future. Transform a regular house to become an eco house does not always make the renovation to be more complex, by understanding basic principals of eco design and get help from the professional an eco house can be achieved as a contribution to reduce causes of global warming.

Abstract

Rhytm, depth, balance, unity are 4 main visual composition principles which are abbreviated and simple. The design principles made it easier to design beautiful visual communication but still reflecting strong effects for audience in extracting one trick of desain principles: emphasis. The article adapts literature study method from 7 popular books about visual design communication, along with information beneath each book. The analysis consists of descripted important parts in design principles, then summarize them into 4 (rhythm, depth, balance, unity) plus 1 (emphasis). The article hopefully could facilitate lecturers and students in learning process in DKV classes.

Abstract

Digital world, internet and mobile have made communication does not move in one way anymore. Visual Communication as a part of Communication recently is going to be more personal, segmented, interactive, user-generated content, accessible and available in huge quantities. In the positive side, users have more options to receive or to respond communication signals according to his/her needs and wants. In opposite, now everybody gets information clutter caused by unbalanced information between what we can received and what we can digested. For that reason we need method to study the people as an object of our communication. Learning user experience concept make us understand more about our object insight. The aim of this paper is to review principles that used in UX study. In the future we expect this discourse will be assesed and used in a design thinking method and developed in visual communication design institution. Research method used in this paper is based on literatural studies. Understanding of UX will help designers developing design that can be effectively communicate with their segement.

Abstract

According to anthropologist, religion has a close relationship to one nation?s culture. Haggai Institute saw the same perspective of management principles, and more about leadership, where it believes that any organization needs to change paradigm from its comfort zone that mostly everywhere. The research is hoped to be useful in the importance of designing the life purpose in every active Christian leader in building the future of service, family, community, and work. The research result towards alumni of year 2000-2002 of Haggai Institute International Seminar which will significant enough in identify the existence and development that they havedone after joining the Haggai Seminar, especially in designing life purpose individually. Afterward effects from the seminar to graduates year 2000-2002 is well. The alumni seem to have kept and applied Designing Purpose of Life in their own life.

Abstract

Article clarifies on how the students? speaking abilities can be stimulated by Train to Train game. The writers create Train to Train game which covers three activities, those are drawing, explaining, and making chain story that can be done individually and also in a team. Twenty-four students have participated in this research and the writers use Train to Train game as an experimental tool in the class for forty-five minutes in each meeting. The writers collect the data from eight meetings inside the classroom twice a week in each class. The beneficial impact of the Train to Train game is evaluated by comparing the results of  the pre-test and  post-test. The questionnaires distributed to the students is used to obtain insights/ feedback from the students The result of the research proves that Train to Train game can stimulate the students to speak English more confidently, clearly, corectly, and fluently than before they practice the game.

Abstract

Public service advertising is becoming one way to reach communication purpose in Indonesia from both public and private institutions. However, more public service advertisings are having problems in its internal surrounding. For instance, dishonesty factor to be presented, only lips service or to cover weakness of an organization or corporation. The critical review will aim to one balance understanding about how public service advertising presents well from who delivered the message, to what purpose the advertising is delivered and how, and to which community groups the advertising is aiming. Finally, the public service advertising will be the effective way because it has variables that supposed to be had by public service advertising.
