Kajian Ekonomi dan Keuangan (KEK henceforth)was first published in 1996 as an initiative of researchers of Ministry of Finance. In the earlier years of its publication, KEK was also known as Kajian Ilmiah Ekonomi dan Keuangan (KIEK). Since then KEK has been published regularly as one of the prominent sources of reference for public policy evaluation as well as a recommendation, in particular on Indonesian state budgets and finance topics.

Abstract

Preferential tariff scheme on ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Area (AKFTA) Trade Agreement in Goods have been above four years after its entry info force on July 1, 2007, as stated in Minister of Finance Decree Number 131/PMK011/2007. Its impact assessment should be conducted to review the expected gains for Indonesia and its country partner, South Korea from joining the agreement. This study employed a quantitative approach to measure and analyze the gains received by the two countries in AKFTA Trade Agreement in Goods from the increase of export growth and export contribution to national income. From the forecasting model employed, it showed that Indonesia gained more than Korea from AKFTA.

Abstract

This paper summarizes the results of the last three years of research conducted by the Economic Research Division of the Indonesia Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK). The main topic of the research is related to the role of the capital market in the Indonesian economy, especially its role as the source of financing for business and as the alternative of investment for investors. The studies on the cost of disclosure, the use of IPO proceeds and the role of foreign investors will have special emphasizes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas pelaksanaan kebijakan reformasi perpajakan terhadap kinerja pegawai pajak dan dampaknya terhadap penerimaan pajak, dengan mengambil kasus pada Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Pajak (DJP) Jakarta Khusus. Reformasi perpajakan telah dilakukan sejak tahun 2002, sebagai amanat UU Nomor 25 Tahun 2002. Kinerja DJP belum optimal, sehingga diperlukan upaya meningkatkan penerimaan dari sektor perpajakan dan peningkatan tax ratio.' Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mengidentifikasi dan mengkaji hal-hal yang sudah dilakukan terkait dengan reformasi perpajakan dan sejauhmana penerapannya, (2) mengkaji efektivitas penerapan reformasi perpajakan terhadap peningkatan kinerja pegawai dan dampaknya terhadap penerimaan pajak, dan (3) memberikan rekomendasi agar reformasi perpajakan dapat diterapkan secara optimal. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan korelasional, serta sebab akibat dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan ekonometrika (model regresi logistik). Menggunakan data primer dan sekunder. Dalam penelitian ini mengkaji beberapa faktor penting yang diprediksi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai. Kinerja pegawai yang dicerminkan oleh peubah terikat Indikator Kinerja (IK) secara keseluruhan. Secara umum pelaksanaan kebijakan reformasi perpajakan belum meningkatkan kinerja pegawai DJP dan penerimaan pajak secara signifikan, sehingga pelaksanaan kebijakan reformasi perpajakan masih perlu ditingkatkan.

Abstract

This research is intended to analyze determining variables of regional inflation at cities of West Java Province during 2000 - 2009. This study is motivated by the facts that inflation is known as an important indicator for economic development planning. Therefore, managing inflation rate become important for government to arrange their national development planning. Managing national inflation should follow whit managing regional inflation. Thus, identijying regional inflation determining variables become important process for managing phase of regional inflation. Approximation for regional inflation determining variable are monetary variables and non monetary variables. Monetary variables consist of real interest rate, while non monetary variables consist of regional indigenous income (PAD), regional expenditure, infrastructure condition, minimum wages rate, and inflation rate of DKl Jakarta. Method research for analysis is utilizes data panel regression Of G2SLS (Generalized two stage least square) with fixed effect method. The findings of this study point out that regional inflation at cities of West Java Province significantly affected by real interest rate, minimum wages rate, infrastructure condition, inflation rate of DKl Jakarta, regional indigenous income (PAD), and regional expenditure. Thus, shown that cost push effect system and demand pull effect system is work on to determine regional inflation at cities of West Java Province. This research also finding that regional that regional interaction is influencing regional inflation rate as shown on interaction between DKl Jakarta Province and cities in West Java Province which presumtive cause by distribution system of goods, commodity, and services from production area to consumption area.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of capital structure on financial performance of mining sector companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). This study employed the descriptive analysis and a regression analysis of panel data. This study covered annual data of 30 mining sector companies listed in the BEI in a 7-year time horizon (20052011). The descriptive analysis showed that most of companies applied a low-leverage policy in their capital structure. In average, the companies generate a good financial performance, in terms of profitability ratios and market based ratios. The regression analysis of panel data showed that capital structure has a significant impact on the company's fnancial performance based on ROA, ROE, and PER, but have insignificant effect on the company's financial performance based on market-to-book value ratio.
