Abstract

The development of the city is along with population growth in the city, from low density into a higher density. Along with the development of the population of the city that is denser, it is necessary to change the pattern of development, where the trend today is leading to the vertical development although increasing the density of the area is not an easy thing. This is because an increase in the density of the area must be balanced with an increase in facilities and adequate infrastructure. If it is not fulfilled then it will have a negative impact on the city or region. One of the necessary infrastructure for the development is transportation infrastructure since the development of a city will increase density therefore in turn it will generate the daily trip, both from the region and towards the region. In the field of urban design, the formula for the density limitation is set in the urban design guidelines that functions as the foundation for an architect to design the building. Urban design guidelines is mainly formulated in the numbers BCR, FAR, and the maximum height of buildings that will form the frame of the building mass. Therefore, this paper intends to explain the optimum modeling between the density of a region with the treshold of existing road infrastructure. With the modeling of the optimum, then the negative impacts can be reduced and the modeling results will get the maximum density that can be accommodated in an area.

Abstract

In the era of global trade, more countries want a quality of product with optimal price. PT Pandawa Maju Perkasa engaged in export trade services requires an application that can bridge the communication between the customer and the company. It can also create appropriate knowledge to present the product to the customer. Knowledge of the product obtained will be shared to the customer as company's marketing activities. In addition, critics and suggestions are very necessary for the improvement of customer service of the company. Research in this study was done by analyzing business process, designing model of knowledge management system, and designing system model. The design of the system made consisted of making class diagrams, use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, and user interface. The design of the CKM system will help the company capture customer demand for the goods they want, the communication between the customer and the company can be well established, critics and suggestions facility made is used to improve services to customers.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to design a database model which is conceptual and logical for a 24-hour clinic. The methods used in this research are the data collection through literature studies, surveys, and interviews to the clinic management to get a description of the business processes implemented at a 24-hour clinic. Then we use the conceptual database design method which identifies important entities, relationships entities, and existing attributes. After that, we create a database logical model which represents the clinical database 24 hours. From that, the model is expected to be a logical database model for further development into a clinical application 24 hours to improve the health services to the public.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to perform lossless compression on the uncompress audio file audio to minimize file size without reducing the quality. The application is developed using the entropy encoding compression method with rice coding technique. For the result, the compression ratio is good enough and easy to be developed because the algorithm is quite simple.

Abstract

The utilisation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) focuses more on the Schematic Design or Technical Design phase, while the Preliminary or the Conceptual design is pretty much skipped. This paper shows that a simple model could utilise BIM to gain rich information about solar radiation to give ideal orientation in Preliminary phase. On this case, a spot in Jakarta is analysed with Glass Box method to depict the ideal orientation that receive a minimum solar radiation in a year span.

Abstract

The application program created in this research is a web-based expert system program for medical rehabilitation of patients with scoliosis. The program aims to make consultation between users and the experts. With the expert system method based on components of medical science this application can help achieve thegoal, that is to make easier for people to recognize and prevent the occurrence of scoliosis, as well as to make easier for doctors making conclusions. Bu using this expert system, students can make decisions quickly when there are problems with Scoliosis disease.

Abstract

PT. SMG is a company which sells music and movies product in CDs, VCDs and DVDs. PT. SMG relies its business on direct selling through its outlets. PT. SMG needs a solution to facilitate the customers’ needs in getting product information and online transactions. E-commerce can be use to develop business and provide an alternative solution to customers on how to transact and obtain product information from PT. SMG using the internet. The objective of this study is to design a business model and customer interface of e-commerce website for PT. SMG. The methodology uses e-commerce business model and customer interface design by Rayport and Jaworski. The website interface design uses a 7C framework approach: Context, Content, Communication, Commerce, Connection, Community and Customization. The result achieved is an e-commerce website that helps sales system and enhances the company competitiveness. The conclusions obtained are that PT. SMG can take advantage of e-commerce to support their sales system and the business model online for PT. SMG is the widest-assortment model.

Abstract

Cloud computing is a phenomenon that is currently a lot of attention from practitioners of information technology. Cloud computing can be composed of several types of services that are known to Saas, PaaS and IaaS, public and private cloud computing. Companies that do not invest themselves in the information technology infrastructure to use cloud computing services as a solution. By adopting and implementing a cloud computing services company can shift the cost of information technology infrastructure investments become operational costs by purchasing cloud computing services. Nevertheless, cloud computing, especially for the type of private cloud is still a bit of adopting it, whether it is caused by the absence of reference to the implementation or caused by something else. The purpose of this study was to analyze the adoption of cloud computing that suitable and beneficial for the company in its operational activities. The study was conducted by analysis of some of the literature related to cloud computing, benefits and barriers. According to the analysis of the literature can be explained some of the benefits associated with the adoption of cloud computing. Based on several studies that have been done, the benefits of implementing cloud computing is primarily financial savings and benefits of resource management that is the flexibility and scalability of the company's operations. However, some considerations still need to be done for a company that will implement cloud computing and those things are data security issues,  legal issues and the implications for the company.

Abstract

The presence of a notebook/netbook that is practical and has a high mobility makes internet connection is not only done through a single cable connection. High levels of human mobility, require an internet connection with a high mobility as well, this is encouraging the development of wireless internet connection in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze the wireless network at Binus Square today and then optimize by minimizing roaming. The method of this study begins with data collection, analysis design, testing and evaluation. The method that is used is to measure bandwidth, to measure the speed and stability of data transfer when it is roaming, and then to measure the transfer speed and stability with wireless network system. From this study it can be seen that the wireless network can be a network of high-speed and stable. This study concluded that based on the simulation, this condition is quite fulfilling.

Abstract

Vacuum preloading is an alternative method to improve water-saturated soft clay by accelerating the consolidation process. A trial using GVS system was done at Pantai Indah Kapuk residence, Jakarta to investigate the system reliability. Monitoring equipments used include settlement plate to measure the consolidation decrease, piezometer to measure pore water tension, inklinometer to identify the soil direction and lateral movement during the vacuum preloading process, and manometer to measure the vacuum pump pressure. Analytical calculations to estimate the consolidation decrease is done using one-dimensional consolidation theory of Terzaghi. Besides, a numerical analysis is performed by element method up to Plaxis software application. Meanwhile, the monitoring results are achieved using Asaoka theory that estimates the achieved degree of reduction and consolidation. The monitoring results and theoretical analysis indicate that the GVS system included in the vacuum preloading method is quite reliable as an alternative method of consolidation acceleration of water-saturated soft clay.
