Abstract

Abstract

The development of the Bali region is rapidly increasing, particularly the construction of accommodations that support tourism, such as villas and hotels. However, sustainable development has had a negative impact on the environment surrounding projects, including the reduction of green space and accumulation of construction waste. Many of these developments have disregarded government regulations that have been put in place. Construction businesses in Badung Regency are required to implement the concept of Green Building, but there are still numerous obstacles that hinder its implementation. As a result, research was conducted to determine the level of compliance with the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Number 21 of 2021, the obstacles to implementing Green Buildings, and strategies for overcoming these obstacles. The research method used was a questionnaire distributed to 13 villa projects in Badung Regency, Bali Province, resulting in a total of 39 respondents. The results of the study showed that the implementation of Green Buildings in Badung Regency, Bali Province, has a percentage rate of 64.24% and is classified as being in the middle category of the BGH. The assessment of green building criteria and lack of outreach from the government regarding energy savings and the use of environmentally friendly materials were identified as the main obstacles to implementing Green Buildings

Abstract

High quality concrete is the primary choice for handling compressive loads in complex building structures such as tall buildings, bridges, dams, and ports. High pressure on high-quality concrete can lead to brittleness and cracking. One solution to improve cracking is by adding bacteria that can produce minerals through microbial processes. This research utilizes ureolytic bacteria, namely the genus Staphylococcus (BSC), Bacillus (BB), and Solibacillus (BBB). Each genus of bacteria was tested with variations of 0.5%, 0.6%, and 0.7%, with 5 test specimens for each variation and 3 control specimens, totaling 48 test specimens. After treatment for 7 days, the test specimens were subjected to a load to induce cracking of 26 MPa. After the cracks formed, observations of calcite growth were made for 7 consecutive days over 28 days. The highest average compressive strength of concrete was found in the BB variation (0.6%). The best calcite growth occurred at the 0.6% variation for Solibacillus genus (BBB1), the 0.6% and 0.5% variations for Bacillus genus (BB1), and the 0.5% variation for Staphylococcus genus (BSC1). FTIR analysis indicates that the test specimens with Bacillus bacteria at the 0.6% variation (BB1) and Solibacillus at the 0.6% variation (BBB1) exhibited high infrared light absorption, while the test specimens with Staphylococcus at the 0.5% variation (BSC1) showed lower light absorption. This demonstrates the better performance of those samplesTop of Form.

Abstract

High-strength concrete has a higher compressive strength compared to regular concrete, making it an ideal choice for structures that bear heavy loads, such as tall buildings, bridges, and towers. However, the weakness of concrete lies in its susceptibility to tensile forces, leading to the development of microcracks that may potentially evolve into macrocracks without detection. To address this issue, an innovation known as Self-healing Concrete (SHC) has emerged, wherein bacteria such as solibacillus, bacillus, and staphylococcus are added to the concrete mix. These bacteria produce compounds that form calcium carbonate (CaCO3) deposits, autonomously closing microcracks through their metabolism. This research aims to enhance the lifespan of concrete and the safety of structures by incorporating bacteria into the concrete mix. Testing was conducted using cylinders with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm, with initial cracks introduced after 7 days of immersion and compressive strength reaching 30 MPa, which is 80% of the planned compressive strength of 50 MPa. Testing was performed on day 28. The results of the split tensile strength tests using solibacillus bacteria showed an average of 4.46 MPa, bacillus bacteria with an average of 4.51 MPa, and staphylococcus bacteria with an average of 5.48 MPa. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) results depicted substances related to calcite crystals in each bacterial concrete sample. The use of bacteria as a self-healing agent has a positive impact, including increased split tensile strength, reduced water absorption, and decreased concrete permeability.

Abstract

The highest proportion of family spending. Efficiency in the provision of housing needs to be done through the provision of the right place to live, at the right time, and with the right people, so that there are no vacancies in the house, one of which is through the application of the Housing Career concept. The housing backlog is currently increasing, and although several housing subsidy programs have been implemented, one of the problems is the mismatch between dynamic housing demand and the current static housing supply. The purpose of this article is to identify, classify, and perform thematic analysis of the current literature to create an understanding of residential careers. The systematic mapping study (SMS) method is used to review research that has been published from time to time. By using this method the fokus, locus, type of research, relying on the Scopus electronic database mapping. Furthermore, an overview of housing careers in Indonesia is given based on city-scale sampling data.
