Abstract

The main objective of this research work is to analysis the voltage stability of the power system network and its improvement in the network.voltage stability of a power system. A system enters a state of voltage instability when a disturbance, increase in load demand, or change in system condition causes a progressive and an uncontrollable drop in voltage or voltage collapse. The continuing increase in demand for electric power has resulted in an increasingly complex, interconnected system, forced to operate closer to the limits of the stability. This has necessitated the implementation of techniques for analyzing and detecting voltage collapse in bus bar or lines prior to its occurrence. Simple Newton Raphson algorithm based voltage stability analysis has been carried out. Matlab based simulations for all the factors that causes voltage instability has been implemented and analyzed for an IEEE 30 bus system. The proposed model is able to identify the behavior of the power systems, network under various voltage stability conditions and its possibility of recovery/stability improvement of the power system network has been discussed.

Abstract

Predicting arrival times of buses is a key challenge in the context of building intelligent public transportation systems. The bus arrival time is the primary information for providing passengers with an accurate information system that can reduce passenger waiting times. In this paper, we used the normal distribution method to the random of travel times data in a bus line number 243 in Taipei area. In developing the models, data were collected from Taipei Bus Company. A normal distribution method used for predicting the bus arrival time in bus stop to ensure users not to miss the bus, and compare the result with the existing application. The result of our experiment showed that our proposed method has a better prediction than existing application, with the probability user not to miss the bus in peak time is 93% and in normal time is 85%, greater than from the existing application with the 65% probability in peak time, and 70% in normal time.

Abstract

This paper proposes load-balancing algorithm on the basis of the Extended Dijkstra’s shortest path algorithm for Software Defined Networking (SDN). The Extended Dijkstra’s algorithm considers not only the edge weights, but also the node weights to find the nearest server for a requesting client. The proposed algorithm also considers the link load in order to avoid congestion. We use Pyretic to implement the proposed algorithm and compare it with related ones under the Abilene network topology with the Mininet emulation tool. As shown by the comparisons, the proposed algorithm outperforms the others in term of the network end-to-end latency, throughput and response time at the expense of a little heavier computation load and more memory usage on the SDN controller.

Abstract

Our work is to create a three-dimensional Simulator (3D) used for the study of the components to low geometry of design, and to determine in the volume structure  the  potential distributions and densities of free carriers in bias voltage given by solving the system of Poisson  and two  continuities equations. The initial version can simulate components of lifetime semiconductor.  In this study, we make a comparison between the lifetime and relaxation semiconductor in the conduction mode. In order to create a larger Simulator, we'll perform a calculation by varying am bipolar lifetime way to move from lifetime semiconductor to relaxation semiconductor. We consider the case corresponding at two different values of diffusion lifetime τ0 which is corresponding to a measured lifetime in current transport. The method of resolution consists to linearization of the equations transport by the finite differences method. The algorithm for solving linear and strongly coupled equations deduced from the physical model is the Newton-Raphson. However, in order to allow a better convergence and consequently an improvement of time computing 3D, a method combined, incorporating the Newton algorithm and the Gummel method was developed. PIN diodes are used for test of the simulation model

Abstract

We are living in an era of information explosion. There are challenges with large and complex amount of data generated every day by social networks, wikis, blogs, emails, traffic system, bridges, airplanes and engine, satellites and weather sensors. 90% of current data in the world has been created in the last two years. Our smart planet becomes more and more intelligent. Besides the challenges posed by such vast amount of data including storage, search, sharing, analysis, and visualization, there are also much opportunities for the world as it becomes more and more digitalized. This study presents Big Data and highlights its key concepts and state-of-the-art implementation as well as research challenges and suggests research directions for future. IT log analytics, Fraud detection pattern, social media pattern and modeling and management patterns are some of opportunities. Hadoop is a cloud based and open source solution for Big Data Analytics which has been written by java. Hadoop solution is currently still immature. In this paper, three topics are suggested for research direction: Security issues in Big Data, context-aware information retrieval, and integrating ontology with Big Data.

Abstract

Spectrum sensing is one of the functionalities of cognitive radios to exploit spectrum holes without interrupting primary users transmission. The more efficient of the spectrum sensing, the highest the throughput of secondary and primary network. This paper presents spectrum sensing method based on phase type modelling that is simple to do for secondary users to conclude about the channel state (idle or busy) under collision constraint. The parameters of phase type model can be adjusted based on desired operating point of the receiver sensor in its ROC curve. The presented approach can run a trade off between sensing time and the two error probabilities of sensor false alarm and miss-detection.

Abstract

Wireless remote device control system is a controlling method which is widely used in various fields. By using wireless communication media, remote control system becomes more efficient and flexible. Computer application is one of the devices which can be used to perform remote controlling. Computer application can be made in accordance with the need of its users in conducting device controlling from the distance. Remote controlling is also can be applied on the robotic field. One of the examples is wireless remote controlling of Quadruped Robot. By utilizing its Windows application such as Visual Basic in order to establish communication with wireless communication module such as Xbee-PRO, a control system can be designed which can be used to control the movement of Quadruped Robot wirelessly. Wireless communication module is also has to be installed and able to perform data communication with the device to be controlled that is Quadruped Robot. The addition of camera which is also using wireless communication system will be very helpful for the users in knowing the condition around Quadruped Robot.

Abstract

This paper presents a novel rotor field-oriented control (RFOC) method for asymmetrical single-phase induction motor (SPIM). It is shown in this paper that by using a suitable transformation matrix (TM) for stator current variables, the asymmetrical equations of SPIM are transformed into symmetrical equations. Based on this similarity, a novel vector conrol technique for SPIM is presented. Performance of the proposed method is assessed using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. Simulation results showed the excellence speed and torque responses obtained using the proposed technique.

Abstract

With the revolution that the education field has known concerning the methods of learning and especially the integration of new technology, several new tools have appeared to replace the tools already existing, and among them there are serious games, serious games as new tool dedicated to education have occupied an important place, and replaced other tools often used in the learning process. But in the order that serious games reach the intended objectives and help instructors to achieve their perspectives considered, they must be equipped with a guidance and assistance system that will assist the learners during the progression in the sequence of the video game, and in addition, they must be equipped with a system of learning analytics that will help instructors to improve the learning process and teaching methods according to the learning outcomes and feedbacks of their learners. In this perspective of research and development we will establish in this paper a new system of assistance, guidance and learning analytics based on a multi agent system that will work in tandem with a web-based serious game.
