Abstract

Pricing schemes were set up on multi service network of wireless internet pricing scheme to proposed models applying Bit Error Rate QoS attribute due to requirements for ISP to maximize revenue and provide high quality of service to end users.The model was deigned by improving the original model together with added parameters and variables to the model of multi- service network by setting the base price (α) and premium quality (β) as variables and parameters. LINGO 11.0 were applied to help finding the solution. The results show that the improved models yield maximum revenue for ISP by applying the improved model by setting up a variable α and β as constant as well as by increasing the cost of all the changes in QoS. The QoS attriute BER is proven to achieve the ISP’s goal to maximize the revenue.

Abstract

This paper proposes a simple scheme of Proportional-Derivative (PD) plus Feedforward controller on SO(3) to control the attitude of a quadrotor. This controller only needs the measurement of angular velocity to calculate the exponential coordinates of the rotation matrix. With rotation matrix as an error variable of the controller, the simulation shows that the controller is able to drive the attitude of the quadrotor from hovering condition to desired attitude and from an attitude condition goes to the hovering condition, despite the system is disturbed. When the system is convergent, the rotation error matrix will be a 3x3 identity matrix.

Abstract

Complexity of modern power network and Large disturbance results voltage collapse. So, voltage security analysis is important in power system. Indicators are helpful in voltage stability analysis, as they give information about the state of the system. In this paper a new indicator namely Distribution System Stability Indicator (DSSI) has been formulated using the information of Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU).The proposed indicator (DSSI) is tested on standard IEEE 33 bus radial distribution system. The suggested indicator is also applicable to the equivalent two bus system of a multi-bus power system. The proposed indicator is calculated for different contingent conditions at different system load configurations. The result of DSSI is verified with the standard indicator (VSI) which proves applicability of the proposed indicator. The bus voltages of all the buses at base loading and at maximum loading are evaluated for base data and for tripping of most critical line.

Abstract

This paper presented the microstrip-fed circular disc monopole antenna with defected waveguide structure. First, the microstrip-fed circular disc monopole antenna was designed. Next, the monopole antenna was designed with waveguide and lastly followed by the defected waveguide structure where the uniplanar compact (UC) structure was used. CST Microwave studio software was used for simulation and parametric studies process. Initially, the microstrip-fed circular disc monopole antenna was designed to achieve return loss less than -10dB for wideband frequencies. Then, the gain and directivity was improved with the integration of waveguide. The highest directivity of 11.38dBi found at 13.5GHz. However, low efficiency and narrower bandwidth were obtained. Next, uniplanar compact defected waveguide structure (UC DWS) was designed at inner surface of waveguide. The bandwidth achieved 3.09GHz where it covered from 10.91GHz to 14GHz. Meanwhile, the directivity maintained higher than the monopole antenna with highest directivity of 8.84dBi at 10GHz. The gain was also improved from 11GHz to 14GHz with highest gain of 6.38dB occurred at 13.5GHz.

Abstract

Nowadays, many researches have been conducted on smart home. Smart home control system (SHCS) can be integrated into an existing home appliances to reduce the need for human intervention, increase security and energy efficiency. We have proposed a smart home system using internet of things and four types of sensors, including PIR, temperature, ultrasonic, and smoke gas sensor for automatic environmental control and intrustion detection. In this paper, the performance of the previously developed prototype of smart home system will be evaluated. First, experiments on various sensors will be conducted. Next, the communicaton channel using wireless and Ethernet modules will be discussed. Moreover, the overall SHCS will be evaluated in terms of hardware and software performance. Additionaly, solar charger enhances the availability of our prototype system. Results showed the effectiveness of our proposed smart home system in the prototype and real life experiments.

Abstract

Much real world decision making is based on binary categories of information that agree or disagree, accept or reject, succeed or fail and so on. Information of this category is the output of a classification method that is the domain of statistical field studies (eg Logistic Regression method) and machine learning (eg Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ)). The input argument of a classification method has a very crucial role to the resulting output condition. This paper investigated the influence of various types of input data measurement (interval, ratio, and nominal) to the performance of logistic regression method and LVQ in classifying an object. Logistic regression modeling is done in several stages until a model that meets the suitability model test is obtained. Modeling on LVQ was tested on several codebook sizes and selected the most optimal LVQ model. The best model of each method compared to its performance on object classification based on Hit Ratio indicator. In logistic regression model obtained 2 models that meet the model suitability test is a model with predictive variables scaled interval and nominal, while in LVQ modeling obtained 3 pieces of the most optimal model with a different codebook. In the data with interval-scale predictor variable, the performance of both methods is the same. The performance of both models is just as bad when the data have the predictor variables of the nominal scale. In the data with predictor variable has ratio scale, the LVQ method able to produce moderate enough performance, while on logistic regression modeling is not obtained the model that meet model suitability test. Thus if the input dataset has interval or ratio-scale predictor variables than it is preferable to use the LVQ method for modeling the object classification.

Abstract

Requirement for electrical energy is increasing in a ramp function manner. To meet the steady increasing in energy demand it is required to find some alternate source of energy. Except the conventional source of energy one type of renewable energy i.e PV may be regarded as a clean source of energy to meet the energy demand. PV modules generating DC power cannot be directly connected to the electrical infrastructure as most of the grid infrastructure uses either 230volt or 120 volt. Therefore power electronic device most be connected (inverter) between PV and grid. In order to make a competitive market between the renewable generated power and conventional way of generating the power it is required to design a cost effective inverter, qualitative output which is pure sinusoidal and harmonics free. In this paper a comparative analysis among the various linear controllers are presented. Proposed Optimised PID Controller is Presented through MATLAB Simulink based environment.
