Abstract

Social Networks such as Twitter, Facebook play a remarkable growth in recent years. The ratio of tweets or messages in the form of URLs increases day by day. As the number of URL increases, the probability of fabrication also gets increased using their HTML content as well as by the usage of tiny URLs. It is important to classify the URLs by means of some modern techniques. Conditional redirection method is used here by which the URLs get classified and also the target page that the user needs is achieved. Learning methods also introduced to differentiate the URLs and there by the fabrication is not possible. Also the classifiers will efficiently detect the suspicious URLs using link analysis algorithm.

Abstract

Public transportation is important issue in Taiwan. Recently, mobile application named Bus Route Planning was developed to help the user to get information about public transportation using bus. But, this application often gave the user inaccurate bus information and this application has less attractive GUI. To overcome those 2 problems, it needed 2 kinds of solutions. First, a more accurate time prediction algorithm is needed to predict the arrival time of bus. Second, augmented reality technology can be used to make a GUI improvement. In this research, Automatic Data Collector system was proposed to give support for those 2 solutions at once. This proposed system has 3 main functionalities. First, data collector function to provide some data sets that can be further analyzed as an base of time prediction algorithm. Second, data updater functions to provide the most updated bus information for used in augmented reality system. Third, data management function to gave the system better functionality to supported those 2 related systems. This proposed Automatic Data Collector system was developed using batch data processing scenario and SQL native query in Java programming language. The result of testing shown this data processing scenario was very effective to made database manipulation especially for large-sized data.

Abstract

In a power system, the load demand considers two components such as the real power (P) because of resistive elements, and the reactive power (Q) because inductive or capacitive elements. This paper presents a graphical representation of the electric power demand based on the topological properties of the Julia Sets, with the purpose of observing the different graphic patterns and relationship with the hourly load consumptions. An algorithm that iterates complex numbers related to power is used to represent each fractal diagram of the load demand. The results show some representative patterns related to each value of the power consumption and similar behaviour in the fractal diagrams, which allows to understand consumption behaviours from the different hours of the day. This study allows to make a relation among the different consumptions of the day to create relationships that lead to the prediction of different behaviour patterns of the curves.

Abstract

In this research the k-means method was used for classification purposes after it was improved using genetic algorithms. An automated classification system for heart attack was implemented based on the intelligent recruitment of computer capabilities at the same time characterized by high performance based on (270) real cases stored within a globally database known (Statlog). The proposed system aims to support the efforts of staff in medical felid to reduce the diagnostic errors committed by doctors who do not have sufficient experience or because of the fatigue that the doctor suffers as a result of work pressure. The proposed system goes through two stages: in the first-stage genetic algorithm is used to select important features that have a strong influence in the classification process. These features forms the inputs to the K-means method in the second-stage which uses the selected features to divide the database into two groups one of them contain cases infected with the disease while the other group contains the correct cases depending on the distance Euclidean. The comparison of performance for the method (K-means) before and after addition genetic algorithm shows that the accuracy of the classification improves remarkably where the accuracy of classification was raised from (68..1481) in the case of use (k- means only) to (84.741) when improved the method by using genetic algorithm.

Abstract

Climate change has caused an increasing number of landslides, especially in the mountainous provinces of Vietnam, resulting in the destruction of vital transport and other infrastructure. Current monitoring and forecasting systems of the meteorology department cannot deliver accurate and reliable forecasts for weather events and issue timely warnings. This paper describes the development of a simple, low cost, and efficient system for monitoring and warning landslide in real-time. The authors focus on the use of wireless and related technologies in the implementation of a technical solution and some of the problems of the wireless sensor network (WSN) related to power consumption. Promising compressed sensing (CS) based solution for landslide monitoring is discussed and evaluated in the paper.

Abstract

In this paper, p-Laplace variational image inpainting model with symmetric Riesz fractional differential filter is proposed. Variational inpainting models are very useful to restore many smaller damaged regions of an image. Integer order variational image inpainting models (especially second and fourth order) work well to complete the unknown regions. However, in the process of inpainting with these models, any of the unindented visual effects such as staircasing, speckle noise, edge blurring, or loss in contrast are introduced. Recently, fractional derivative operators were applied by researchers to restore the damaged regions of the image. Experimentation with these operators for variational image inpainting led to the conclusion that second order symmetric Riesz fractional differential operator not only completes the damaged regions effectively, but also reducing unintended effects. In this article, The filling process of damaged regions is based on the fractional central curvature term. The proposed model is compared with integer order variational models and also GrunwaldLetnikov fractional derivative based variational inpainting in terms of peak signal to noise ratio, structural similarity and mutual information.

Abstract

This article presents a fast and accurate fault location approach for power transmission lines based on the theory of traveling waves. In fact, when faults occur, they give rise to transient voltages and currents that propagate at a speed close to that of light along the transmission line as traveling waves. Moreover, according to the superposition theorem, each of these transients is a combination of a steady-state quantity and an incremental quantity. These transient signals measured at both ends of the line are first transformed to the Clarke (0-α-β components) components in order to categorize the type of faults, and then multi-scale morphological gradient filters are used to extract equivalent quantities to the incremental quantities to form what are called characteristic signals. These latter will be used to identify the fault location according to the proposed algorithm.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of consumers' involvement and affect intensity on the purchase intention of music items. In particular  domestically, there is no clear standard for judgment of plagiarism, and thus it is expected that plagiarism suspicion is likely to affect consumers' involvement and affect intensity, and as a result, their purchase intention as well. Accordingly, consumer characteristics (involvement, affect intensity) were chosen as independent variables, and consumers' purchase intention on music items as a subordinate variable, respectively. The first questionnaire-based survey was conducted before the awareness of plagiarism suspicion, followed by the second survey after the awareness of plagiarism suspicion. It turned out that the higher level of involvement and affect intensity, both of which are consumer characteristics, the higher level of purchase intention of music goods. While plagiarism suspicion caused C.R values to decrease in every item, a significant difference was observed only in the relation of ‘involvement - purchase intention’. This study shows that music items which involve plagiarism suspicion result in changes in consumers' purchase intention, which will cause damage to the creators and performers of related music items. Thus, for the development of the music industry and creative activity, tools and standards that can clearly distinguish plagiarism need to be developed.
