Abstract

Lightning activities are growing up rapidly with global warming. It can affect anything on the earth. All the constructed buildings need proper protection from the harmful effect of lightning. Lightning strike points on different geometrical shapes have been investigated. Lightning strike distribution of different building structure is very important to be studied. In order to analyse the maximum effect of lightning strike pattern is obtained of different air terminals installed on scaled building structures. High voltage impulse generator is used in order to get the impulse voltage. Different numbers of air terminals have been applied to all the shapes in order to see the lightning strike points. Electric field is obtained in order to see its minimum and maximum effect on the entire building structure. Interestingly the phenomenon of lightning air terminal bypasses has been proved in this paper.

Abstract

Image Super resolution is used to upscale the low resolution Images. It is also known as image upscaling .This paper focuses on upscaling of compressed images based on Interpolation techniques. A content adaptive interpolation method of image upscaling has been proposed. This interpolation based scheme is useful for single image based Super-resolution (SR) methods .The presented method works on horizontal, vertical and diagonal directions of an image separately and it is adaptive to the local content of an image. This method relies only on single image and uses the content of the original image only; therefore the proposed method is more practical and realistic. The simulation results have been compared to other standard methods with the help of various performance matrices like PSNR, MSE, MSSIM etc. which indicates the preeminence of the proposed method.

Abstract

Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) is one of serious web application attack. Web applications are involved in every activity of human life. JavaScript plays a major role in these web applications. In XSS attacks hacker inject malicious JavaScript into a trusted web application, execution of that malicious script may steal sensitive information from the user. Previous solutions to prevent XSS attacks require a lot of effort to integrate into existing web applications, some solutions works at client-side and some solutions works based on filter list which needs to be updated regularly. In this paper, we propose an Image Substitute technique (ImageSubXSS) to prevent Cross-Site Scripting attacks which works at the server-side. The proposed solution is implemented and evaluated on a number of XSS attacks. With a single line, developers can integrate ImageSubXSS into their applications and the proposed solution is able to prevent XSS attacks effectively.

Abstract

Use of model gives the knowledge and information about the phenomenon also eradicates the cost, the effort and the hazard of using the real phenomenon. Characteristics and concepts of Petri nets are in a way that makes it simple and strong to describe and study the information processing system; especially it is shown in those which are dealing with discrete, concurrent, distributed, parallel and indecisive events. Yet, due to Petri nets inability to face with systems working on obscure data and continues events, the interest to develop fundamental concept of Petri nets has been raised which is led to new style of presented model named "fuzzy Petri nets". The difference in Petri nets is in the elements that have been fuzzed. Transitions, places, signs and arcs can be fuzzed. PMNL, on the other hand as a markup language has been engaged in uttering Petri nets in previous researches. Fuzzy markup nets can model the uncertainty of concurrent scenarios different from a dynamic system by a board of parameters and use of fuzzy membership dependencies. Therefore, in order to define these uncertain data, it is vital to use a formal language to describe fuzzy Petri nets. To support this version in this thesis, a markup language will be presented stating the structure and grammar of markup language and covering fuzzy concepts in Petri nets as well. Abstract

The global bandwidth inadequacy facing wireless carriers has motivated the exploration of the underutilized millimeter wave (mm-wave) frequency spectrum for future broadband cellular communication networks, and mmWave band is one of the promising candidates due to wide spectrum. This paper presents propagation path loss and outdoor coverage and link budget measurements for frequencies above 6 GHz (mm-wave bands) using directional horn antennas at the transmitter and omnidirectional antennas at the receiver. This work presents measurements showing the propagation time delay spread and path loss as a function of separation distance for different frequencies and antenna pointing angles for many types of real-world environments. The data presented here show that at 28 GHz, 38 GHz and 60 GHz, unobstructed Line of Site (LOS) channels obey free space propagation path loss while non-LOS (NLOS) channels have large multipath delay spreads and can utilize many different pointing angles to provide propagation links. At 60 GHz, there is more path loss and smaller delay spreads. Power delay profiles PDPs were measured at every individual pointing angle for each TX and RX location, and integrating each of the PDPs to obtain received power as a function of pointing angle. The result shows that the mean RMS delay spread varies between 7.2 ns and 74.4 ns for 60 GHz and 28 GHz respectively in NLOS scenario.

Abstract

The password which is a more secure and valuable data should be highly protected from eavesdropper. This paper presents how password required for authentication of members of group communication is securely delivered by the source or initiator of the group. The password delivery uses zero knowledge proof and sent to the group member in an encrypted format using cipher block mode encryption. The password delivered is a One Time Password which can be used for certain amount of time in order to ensure a highly secure communication environment among the group.

Abstract

In this paper, an enhanced stochastic optimization algorithm based on the basic Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed. The basic PSO algorithm is built on the activities of the social feeding of some animals. Its parameters may influence the solution considerably. Moreover, it has a couple of weaknesses, for example, convergence speed and premature convergence. As a way out of the shortcomings of the basic PSO, several enhanced methods for updating the velocity such as Exponential Decay Inertia Weight (EDIW) are proposed in this work to construct an Enhanced PSO (EPSO) algorithm. The suggested algorithm is numerically simulated established on five benchmark functions with regards to the basic PSO approaches. The performance of the EPSO algorithm is analyzed and discussed based on the test results.

Abstract

The future of Open Distributed Processing systems (ODP) will see an increasing of components number, these components are sharing resources. In general, these resources are offering some kind of services. Due to the huge number of components, it is very difficult to offer the optimum Quality of service (QoS). This encourages us to develop a model for QoS negotiation process to optimize the QoS in an ODP system. In such system, there is a High risk of software or hardware failure. To ensure good performance of a system based on our model, we develop it using a formal method. In our case, we will use Event-B to get in the end of our development a system correct by construction.

Abstract

Augmented Reality can provide information that can be more easily understood by the user. Because of its advantages, Augmented Reality can be utilized to create learning applications that can support teaching and learning process. Chemical learning about chemical reactions is usually boring by students. This is because students only know the theory of the book and the explanation of teachers only. This research utilized Augmented Reality to be able to see 3D model of each chemical element and also can see animation of merging between elements. In order to bring up 3D objects of chemical elements then made a card that will be used as a marker / tracker. In addition, there can be a combination of several chemical elements based on several cards detected from the camera. The test is performed for chemical elements with periodic table such as H, Ca, Na, K, C, Cl, Br, O, S, SO2, CO2, OH. Testing the application by performing several merge elements such as HCl, NaCl, H20, CO2, MgS, SO2, O2, CaCl2, HCN, N2, and others. The results of this study will be tested on several students to see the benefits of student learning.

Abstract

Nowadays, exponential growth in geospatial or spatial data all over the globe, geospatial data analytics is absolutely deserved to pay attention in manipulating voluminous amount of geodata in various forms increasing with high velocity. In addition, dimensionality reduction has been playing a key role in high-dimensional big data sets including spatial data sets which are continuously growing not only in observations but also in features or dimensions. In this paper, predictive analytics on geospatial big data using Principal Component Regression (PCR), traditional Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) model improved with Principal Component Analysis (PCA), is implemented on distributed, parallel big data processing platform. The main objective of the system is to improve the predictive power of MLR model combined with PCA which reduces insignificant and irrelevant variables or dimensions of that model. Moreover, it is contributed to present how data mining and machine learning approaches can be efficiently utilized in predictive geospatial data analytics. For experimentation, OpenStreetMap (OSM) data is applied to develop a one-way road prediction for city Yangon, Myanmar. Experimental results show that hybrid approach of PCA and MLR can be efficiently utilized not only in road prediction using OSM data but also in improvement of traditional MLR model.
