Abstract

In this paper,a compact printed dualband antenna for Bluetooth and UWB applications with WiMax(3.3-3.7 GHz), C-band satellite downlink(3.7-4.2GHz), WLAN(5.15-5.825GHz) and DSRC(5.5-5.925GHz) bandnotched characteristics is proposed and investigated. By etching two half-wavelength L-shaped slots in the radiating patch and an inverted U-shaped slot in the microstrip feedline quadruple bandnotched characteristics is obtained. Further, by embedding quarter wavelength parasitic strip at two edges of U-shaped radiating patch dualband characteristics with desired bandwidth is obtained. the proposed antenna is designed and fabricated on a FR4 substrate of dimensions 24mm X 35mm that operates over a 2.4-11GHz with S11<-10dB except over notch bands of 3.3-3.7GHz, 3.7-4.2GHz,5.15-5.625GHz and 5.625-6GHz. Directional pattern in E-plane and nearly omnidirectional pattern in H-plane are observed over a UWB band except at desired bandnotched freqencies. Less variation in group delay and pulse deformation shows good time domain characteristics. In addition, the structure exhibits stable gain over the desired band.

Abstract

Continuous speech segmentation and its  recognition is playing important role in natural language processing. Continuous context based Kannada speech segmentation depends  on context, grammer and semantics rules present in the kannada language. The significant feature extraction of kannada speech signal  for recognition system is quite exciting for researchers. In this paper proposed method  is  divided into two parts. First part of the method is continuous kannada speech signal segmentation with respect to the context based is carried out  by computing  average short term energy and its spectral centroid coefficients of  the speech signal present in the specified window. The segmented outputs are completely  meaningful  segmentation  for different scenarios with less segmentation error. The second part of the method is speech recognition by extracting less number Mel frequency cepstral coefficients with less  number of codebooks  using vector quantization .In this recognition is completely based on threshold value.This threshold setting is a challenging task however the simple method is used to achieve better recognition rate.The experimental results shows more efficient  and effective segmentation    with high recognition rate for any continuous context based kannada speech signal with different accents for male and female than the existing methods and also used minimal feature dimensions for training data.

Abstract

The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology offers pervasive communication across heterogeneous devices in a home or small office network. The UPnP specifications are available for devices only to be interoperable together in a home or small office network. This paper proposes an extension of the UPnP technology for application interoperability in a home or small office network. This paper provides an UPnP Application Architecture as an extension to the existing UPnP Device Architecture. This extension enhances the feature of UPnP from device interoperability to application interoperability which enables the applications to discover, control and share data with each other in a home or small office network despite of their device type and operating system. In addition to the UPnP Application Architecture, the UPnP Application Template and UPnP Application Service Template are defined towards the development of UPnP-enabled applications that run on heterogeneous devices in a home or small office network.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose to enhance the security performance of the color image encryption algorithm which depends on multi-chaotic systems. The current cryptosystem utilized a pixel-chaotic-shuffle system to encode images, in which the time of shuffling is autonomous to the plain-image. Thus, it neglects to the picked plaintext and known-plaintext attacks. Also, the statistical features of the cryptosystem are not up to the standard. Along these lines, the security changes are encircled to make the above attacks infeasible and upgrade the statistical features also. It is accomplished by altering the pixel-chaotic-shuffle component and including another pixel-chaotic-diffusion system to it. The keys for diffusion of pixels are extracted from the same chaotic arrangements created in the past stage. The renovation investigations and studies are performed to exhibit that the refreshed version of cryptosystem has better statistical features and invulnerable to the picked plaintext and known plaintext attacks than the current algorithm.

Abstract

In the wind power area, Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) has many advantages due to its ability to provide power to voltage and constant frequency during rotor speed changes, which provides better wind capture as compared to fixed speed wind turbines (WTs). The high sensitivity of the DFIG towards electrical faults brings up many challenges in terms of compliance with requirements imposed by the operators of electrical networks. Indeed, in case of a fault in the network, wind power stations are switched off automatically to avoid damage in wind turbines, but now the network connection requirements impose stricter regulations on wind farms in particular in terms of Low Voltage Ride through (LVRT), and network support capabilities. In order to comply with these codes, it is crucial for wind turbines to redesign advanced control, for which wind turbines must, when detecting an abnormal voltage, stay connected to provide reactive power ensuring a safe and reliable operation of the network during and after the fault. The objective of this work is to offer solutions that enable wind turbines remain connected generators, after such a significant voltage drop. We managed to make an improvement of classical control, whose effectiveness has been verified for low voltage dips. For voltage descents, we proposed protection devices as the Stator Damping Resistance (SDR) and the CROWBAR. Finally, we developed a strategy of combining the solutions, and depending on the depth of the sag, the choice of the optimal solution is performed.

Abstract

The main goal of this paper is to present a novel ROM-less direct digital frequency synthesizer for sweep instrumentation systems. It provides a main sweep channel for frequency analysis and a reference channel for phase and amplitude measurement block operating at constant frequency. For phase to amplitude converter, we propose a new trigonometric approximation technique based on a set of reference angles. In addition, we present the design of the proposed synthesizer and its evaluation in Matlab-Simulink environment. The simulation results illustrate the performances and demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed circuit.

Abstract

Liver cancer is the sixth most common malignant tumour in the world and the third most common cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. To diagnose such liver diseases, In this paper comparison has been made for various image enhancement techniques that are applied to liver ultrasound image. Three types of liver ultrasound images used are normal, benign and malignant liver images. The techniques, which are compared on the basis of two evaluation parameters Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE) including, Contrast Stretching, Shock Filter, Histogram Equalization, Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE).Such a comparison would be helpful in determining the best suited method for clinical diagnosis. Abstract

There has been a growing concern about fraud peer review articles that have been published in some journals in favor of their authors' affiliation, which have been discussed extensively by some researchers. This research paper introduces a new another challenge in academic world concerning journals’ editors who look at authors' affiliations rather than papers' contents. In this short paper, we will introduce this alarming problem and do an experimental test by submitting computer generated papers to some journals and finally present the results of our experiment. The paper is an expression of our concern about providing for maximum high ethics in and quality of publication policy of modern scientific journals.

Abstract

Distribution Generation plays a significant role in remote areas where the utility grid is affected and initializing by renewable energy sources to acquire the sufficient power demand. In distribution system, it is very exigent consumer related concern which is confronted due to mis-operation of massive non-linear load apparatus. A multi-functional distributed static compensator incorporates the best choice for enhancing the power quality features with effective control scheme under rambled non-linear loads. Conventional control schemes are more adversed with greater switching losses due to extreme harmonic frequencies in a refernce current component. This paper proposes, a novel multi-objective fundamental reference current control scheme based multi-functional DSTATCOM furnishes the current harmonic compensation at PCC, reactive power compensation, power factor correction, active power exchanging, minimizing the switching losses, incredible efficiency and power factor correction. The validation of proposed multi-functional DSTATCOM with proposed control strategy under rated capacity of distribution generation is evaluated by using Matlab/Simulink platform and simulation results are presented.

Abstract

The principle point of this examination work is to recognize the butane, Acetone, Propane, ethane, LPG and other natural gases from the strong waste and do condition checking. Here the arrangement of sensors used to identify the poison gases from strong waste. Here our point is to build up a sensor cluster framework which will identify most extreme contamination gases and which is very responsive, minimal effort and low power devouring. We have assumed three sensors in position of six sensors and given the outcomes as fluctuation, score plot and stacking plot. Here we utilize the parallel factor analysis (PARAFAC) for identification of gases and contrast it and the key part investigation Principal component analysis (PCA).
