Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Praktikum Fisika Dasar adalah mata kuliah yang diambil oleh mahasiswa Fisika FMIPA Unnes. Mahasiswa dituntut untuk melakukan kerja ilmiah dalam praktikum. Kerja ilmiah mencakup sikap ilmiah, keterampilan proses dan komunikasi ilmiah. Permasalahan yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah tingkatan kebiasaan bekerja ilmiah mahasiswa fisika pada Praktikum Fisika Dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkatan kebiasaan bekerja ilmiah mahasiswa fisika pada Praktikum Fisika Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Data penelitian didapatkan melalui lembar angket dan lembar observasi. Analisis persentase digunakan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana kemampuan kebiasaan bekerja ilmiah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kebiasaan bekerja ilmiah yang dilakukan dapat dikatakan baik. Hasil tersebut menggambarkan bahwa praktikan mempunyai kemampuan yang tinggi dalam melakukan praktikum secara runtut, bersikap positif dan mengomunikasikan hasil praktikum. . Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ Elementary physics experiment is a subject taken by the students of Physics Department Unnes. Students are demanded to do scientific work in each experiment. Scientific work includes three aspects, there are scientific attitude, scientific communication and skill of experimental process. Problems in this research is how is the level of students scientific work habits in learning elementary physics experiments. The purpose of this research is to determine the criteria of students scientific work habits in learning elementary physics experiments. Method in this research is a quantitative descriptive. Data of students’s scientific attitude are obtained form questionnaire. Data of students’s scientific communication and skill of experimental process obtained form observation sheets. Percentage analysis are performed to determine the students scientific work habits. Based on the results of research, it was known that the student scientific work habits belonged to good category. This result shows that students have high ability to do experiment systematically, have good attitude, and comunicate the experiment results.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran siswa sangat diperlukan siswa baik dalam pembelajaran fisika maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, sehingga diperlukan suatu metode yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan penalaran siswa dan perbedaan yang signifikan antara model Learning Cycle dan model konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest posttest control group design. Berdasarkan hasil uji gain didapatkan hasil belajar kognitif pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0.67 dan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0.61 dengan kategori sedang serta hasil uji-t didapatkan thitung sebesar 2.65 Yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara model Learning Cycle dengan model konvensional. Berdasarkan analisis tersebut, disimpulkan bahawa model Learning Cycle dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran siswa dengan kategori sedang serta ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara model Learning Cycle dan model konvensional. Reasoning ability is required of students in physicslearning and everyday life so we need a method that can improve students’ reasoning abilities. The purpose of  this research to determine the improvement students’ reasoning abilities as well as significant differences between the Learning Cycle and conventional models. The research method used pretest-postest control group design. Based on the test result obtained cognitive learning gains 0.67 in experimental group and control group of 0.61 with medium category, as well as the t-test result of 2.65 which shows that there were significant differences between learning cycle models and conventional models. Based on the analysis, we can conclude that learning cycle models can improve students’ reasoning abilities with medium category and there are significant differences between the learning cycle models and conventional models.
