Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected education worldwide, and online learning is a solution to keep learning activities going. Learning in Indonesia also applies online learning by utilizing smartphones and the internet. The current education curriculum uses Education Technology (edutech), so innovation is needed in developing learning media, one of which is an Android learning application in the form of a Virtual Planetarium Observatory. The research objectives are (1) to analyze the validity of the Virtual Planetarium Observatory, (2) to analyze the feasibility of the Virtual Planetarium Observatory (3) to analyze the effectiveness of the Virtual Planetarium Observatory. This research is a research and development (R&D) research design pretest-posttest control group design with the research subjects of class VII students of MTs Al Hadi Girikusuma Mranggen Demak. The validation results of media experts and media validity experts are very valid, with 93%. The feasibility of the teacher's response and the student's response to the media is very feasible, with a percentage of 86%. The media's effectiveness is pretty effective in increasing student learning outcomes with a rate of 72%. Based on the N-Gain test, the experimental class was 0.72 in the high category, while the control class was in the middle category at 0.58. The significance of the effectiveness based on the t-test with a value of Sig 0.028 < 0.05 means a significant difference between before and after using the Virtual Planetarium Observatory on improving student learning outcomes. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that the Virtual Planetarium Observatory can improve student learning outcomes on solar system material.

Low students creativity being a problem that must be faced by the teacher. This study aims to find the effect of the problem-based chemistry module with the help of Quartchem cards on student learning outcomes and student achievement in chemistry learning on the subject of chemical bonding. Grade X motorcycle engineering which consist of three class used for population of this research. The sampling technique was carried out by cluster random sampling with class X TSM 3 as the experimental class and class X TSM 2 as the control class. Data collection was carried out by three methods, there are documentation method, test method, and observasion sheets method. The test method is used to measure students 'cognitive learning outcomes using the pre-test and post-test question instruments, while the observation sheet method is used to measure students' creativity using the student's creative product observation sheet. The test method is used to measure students 'cognitive learning outcomes using the pre-test and post-test question instruments, while the observation sheet method is used to measure students' creativity using the student's creative product observation sheet. The results showed that the experimental class learning outcomes average was 86.20 and the control class was 81.96 while the average creativity of the experimental class was 84.379 and the control class was 72.3. The results of data analysis with the t-test of the right side for student learning outcomes obtained tcount 2.212 and for creativity obtained tcount 11.94 with t table 1.67 shows that there is an effect of problem-based chemistry modules assisted by Quartchem cards on student learning outcomes and creativity.

Abstract

One of its competency that students must have to face the 4.0 era is the critical thinking skills. These skills can be trained using appropriate learning media, one of which is by using digital books based on problem-based learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of using problem-based books, problem-based learning materials, and analysis systems on students' critical thinking skills. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling method with a total of 108 students. Based on the results of the study, the average student learning outcomes obtained a score of 67. The results of the N-gain analysis with the medium category showed that digital-based learning problem-based books were effective for improving students' critical thinking skills. The results of the analysis with the Paired Sample t-test showed that the probability value (sig) 0.000 <0.05 means that there are differences in critical thinking skills between before and after using problem-based learning-based digital books. Thus it can be concluded that the use of digital books based on learning materials based on problems with the motion system is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is an ability that students must have in facing the challenges of the 21st century and is also one of the objectives of implementing the 2013 Curriculum. The object of this research is the basic competencies of Plantae material which is taught using project based learning (PjBL) based on local wisdom. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of project-based learning (PjBL) based on local wisdom to train students' scientific literacy skills. This research was conducted in class X MA NU Miftahul Falah Dawe Kudus, the sample of this study was taken by using saturated sampling technique. This research design using One Group Pretest Posstest Design. The data was collected using test with indicators of scientific literacy competence. The test results were analyzed using the N-gain test and paired sample t-test to prove the effectiveness of the learning. The results showed that the level of learning effectiveness was moderate with the average of N-Gain 0.66. The results of the paired sample t-test obtained a value of sig. 0.0000 <α = 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest mean values. Based on the research results it can be denied that the project-based learning based on local wisdom of the Plantae material is effective to train students' scientific literacy competencies

Abstract

Scientific attitude is very important in learning activities. In addition, one of the learning objectives stated that students must have character. Students must be able to solve problems scientifically to form a good character or attitude. Such learning can be realized by using contextual learning such as project-based learning, as well as using standard scientific attitude assessment instruments. However, this affective assessment has been less emphasized. Most educators prioritize cognitive aspects in their assessment activities. For this reason, it is necessary to develop a scientific attitude assessment using self & peer assessment in project-based learning. This research is a kind of R&D research that used the ADDIE development model. The purpose of this study is to analyze the validity of the instrument, the practicality of the instrument, and the effectiveness of the developed scientific attitude assessment instrument by using self & peer assessment in project-based learning. The sample used in this study was class VII A and B SMP N 04 Lambu Kibang totaling 48 students. The lesson taught was about environmental pollution. The results of the validity of the instrument analyzed using the CVR obtained 0.9. This means that the instrument validity was good. The results of the instrument's effectiveness can be seen from the scientific attitude that has excellent criteria. The assessment used in this study was only self-assessment because of the limited learning activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first learning step is having a scientific attitude of critical thinking, responsibility, and care for the environment. The second is having curiosity, perseverance, and responsibility. The third is having curiosity, critical thinking, and being objective. In the fourth learning step, the scientific attitudes that have excellent criteria are the attitude of being curious, objective, and persevering. The fifth learning step is being disciplined, caring for the environment, and having a critical thinking attitude. The sixth is an attitude of curiosity, perseverance, and responsibility.
