The Journal of Innovation in Business and Economics (JIBE) is published by the Department of Economics and Business at University of Muhammadiyah Malang in 2017. Previously this journal was known as Jurnal Media Ekonomi that was initially published in 2000. In 2011 until 2016, this journal was renamed as Ekonomika Bisnis: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pemikiran. JIBE is a generalist; academic review covering all fields of business, management, accounting, and economics. The journal seeks to examine the emerging and state of the art future innovations in business, economics and management made possible by advances in information, communication, and technologies. We welcome contributions covering all fields of business innovations including, but not limited to information, communication and technologies applications in business, cost and revenue model, business ethics, business strategy, applications of innovation in business and management, entrepreneurship & innovation, information systems, international business & cross-cultural studies, marketing, organization studies, general management as well as micro and macro economics.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of parental style and family income on children’s involvement in family purchasing decision. Using dyadic method, the samples of this research consist of 43 parent (fathers or mothers) and 43 children whose ranged 11-16 years old as respondent. The result of this research shows that parental style, with its four dimensions (authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent and neglecting), has no significant difference on children’s involvement in family purchasing decision. Another result in this research shows that family income difference does not influence the children’s involvement level in family purchasing decision. The last, it is also indicated that children using bilateral strategy have a higher signification of influence than those who use unilateral strategy.

Abstract

Goals to be achieved in this study was to determine the effect of leadership, motivation and environment affect the performance of employees in Malang Regency Community Empowerment Board and the dominant variables affecting the performance of employees in Malang Regency Community Empowerment Board is motivation. Therefore, based on the results of the analysis in this study, then the suggestions can be given is the Community Empowerment Board should leader Malang more attention to issues of leadership and motivation to employees, because it can improve performance. Guidance, supervision and education of employees should be synergized with the interests of the institution, so as to support the motion dynamics of performance measures and work environment needs to be improved to enhance the performance of employees.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the talent and entrepreneurship that have the potential students, teaching methods courses in entrepreneurship, student interest in entrepreneurship and know the effect of entrepreneurial talent and potential and methods of interest in entrepreneurship students. The analysis tool used is the range of scale and multiple linear regression. Results obtained findings that entrepreneurial talent and competence of students is very high, both entrepreneurial learning methods and student interest in entrepreneurship is very high. Entrepreneurial talent and potential has the strongest influence on student interest in entrepreneurship than learning methods, while learning method had no significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of fiscal policy islam. The method used in this study is the case study method. Points Regional Government research Bekasi, Mechanical Sampling by interviewing respondents, obser-vation by observation by following some musrenbang socialization and discussion group forums in section / unit related work, the deepening of the documents related to local government financial policy. The results of this study indicate Kota Bekasi local government finance in systems and procedures, financial pattern has been going well, but the year 2012 -2014 budget funds can only cover approximately 30-50% of development proposals are inventoried in the deliberations development plan (musren-bang), so there many development proposals that can not be funded by the budget or in other words are still around 70-50% which can not be imple-mented.Keywords: Fiscal Policy, Islam, Local Government

Abstract

This study aims to identify the performing of an agency applying nuturing institutional capital markets through built Broaden approach to improve the performance of securities institution. This phenomenological study was conducted on securities agency in Malang. The data has been collected by using participant observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires. The data was anlyzed by using content analysis. Based on the result, the researcher concluded that the variables (x1) Emotional Resiliency; (x2) Cognitive Resiliency; (x3) social resiliency; and Financial Resiliency (x4) have jointly significant influence on the performance of securities agency. Similarly, each variable partially has an influence on financial performance. The dominant variable influencing the performance of securities agency is cognitive resiliency variable that has the highest value of regression coefficient. Therefore, the hypothesis stated about there is an influence of emotional resiliency; cognitive resiliency; social resiliency; and financial resiliency variables towards the performance of the securities agency in Malang is accepted.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of corporate risk, company size, and compensation tax losses against tax avoidance. Sample was drawn from Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) companies. We use secondary data from Indonesia stock exchange and company’s official websites. PLS-SEM was used to analyze the data, especially we use WarpPLS 6.0. The result indicates that corporate risk and size significantly influence on tax avoidance, while compensation tax losses has no impact on tax avoidance. This means that the higher of corporate risk, the higher amount of tax avoidance. The bigger size of companies, the higher amount of tax avoidance.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the relationship of individual characteristics, organizational culture, and organizational commitment to employee performance and motivation as a moderating variable in the study of plant employees outpatient Hospital Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Poor This research is explanatory. Samples in this study used a sample of 113 respondents 84 employees who work on installation of outpatient Hospital Dr. Results of analysis Partial Least Square (PLS) This study shows that the individual character relationships, organizational culture, different organizational commitment remains significant positive effect on employee performance, motivation to strengthen the relationship between individual characteristics, organizational culture, and organizational commitment to employee performance.Keywords: individual characteristics, organizational culture, organizational commitment, motivation, employee performance.

Abstract

The research objective was to clarify the effectiveness of leadership style of Torjunan  headman in terms of bureaucratic leadership that leads to its function as part of the Indonesian government institutions at the village level, and in terms of Situational Leadership leading to its function as the leader and protector of society. The instruments used in data collection were interviews, observation, and documentation; which further examined using three methods of data analysis namely; Miles analysis, which covered: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion; Reddin analysis consisting of synchronization, data input, as well as the calculation of the average; and Hersey and Blanchard analysis comprising: synchronization, data input and drawing conclusions based on the accumulative column. The results showed: 1) Torjunan headman was seem less flexible in terms of managing the issues related to government affairs, especially regarding the bureaucratization of Robatal sub-district; 2) based on Blanchard Situational Leadership II model, Torjunan headman style were classified into G4 category, which means that Torjunan headman would be able to work more effective if he delegated the decision-making, as well execution, to society

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the implementation of social enterprise towards empowering the wellbeing of bottom 40 group (B40) in Malaysia. It provides an overview of the existing literature in this subject area and focuses on the ability of social innovation in empowering the B40 group. Thus, in order to elevate the B40 groups towards a middle-class society, three strategies were identified in the 11th Malaysia Plan (11th MP). One of the strategies is by developing community and social-based enterprises. As stated in 11th MP, a systematic approach shall be introduced to develop community and social enterprise based on the cooperative model to carry out activities for B40 groups in urban areas. By applying the principles of social innovation into the social enterprise framework, it can move social innovators towards sustainability and self-sufficiency. This conceptual paper contains definitions, concepts, and also the characteristics of building social enterprise in businesses with emphasis on social innovation. In addition, it also states the development of basic concepts, instruments, and dimensions in social innovation principles, and also discusses strategic and systematic plans for the B40 community. Results indicated that social innovation is important in empowering the B40 community through social enterprise and can give more impact to fulfill social needs in Malaysia.

Abstract

This Research aim to to know auditor professionalisme in running its work with case study laboring auditor at KAP in Malang. Result of research indicate that man auditors and woman auditors have professionally in running its work. While in different test with test of t indicate that there no difference of professionalisme between men auditor and woman auditor in running work. This matter is proved by doing/conducting examination to five dimension to measure professionalism that is dedication to professionalism, professionalism standard, autonomy, socia obligation and community affiliation. Public accounting profession as an independent third party plays an important role to judge the fairness of the financial statements presented accountability by management.
