Abstract

Through numerous experiments (cleaning, drying, curve reduction, dyeing, folding, sealant), a set of methods is recommended as a better innovative method to process snapper fish scales to be used for fashion jewelry materials. The most effective method to clean fish scales is a combination of water and detergent. Colorants red yeast rice (red), turmeric (yellow), and Brilliant Blue FCF (blue) are most applicable colorants, producing a good range of colors. Soaking fishscales in pure vinegar is the best method to reduce curves. Folding fishscales should align with grain direction. All sequins embellishment techniques can be applied for fashion jewelry designs. These recommendations are seen more innovative and shows good characteristics of snapper fish scales (color, texture, transparency) compare to traditional process existing in the market. Abstract

Child care is now a priority for parents in an effort to help optimize the development of their children, both at stages of physical, cognitive and social and emotional development. In the state of the covid 19 scourge currently sweeping the world, daycare is a concern for parents who send their children away. Thus, this study addresses the interior design of private daycare spaces to support the development process of children according to the daycare center in the middle of the covid 19 epidemic, which aims to provide distance and limit movement between children of the daycare in accordance with government recommendations. This study uses qualitative methods, in particular through the analysis of field observations, but also studies of the literature, which aim to know how to design a good daycare in accordance with the standards in force during the covid 19 epidemic, to respond to user needs. This research should be an alternative solution for owners of daycares that will remain open during the covid 19 outbreak, so that with the design of a measurable and well-designed and appropriate private space, it will build the image and belief of parents that the daycare during the covid 19 outbreak will remain safe and comfortable to use. Abstract

In the development of the retail business, one of the things that can add value is to pay attention to the interior design. The interior design of a retail store must be tailored to its users regarding the activities and activities in it. The focus of this research is to analyze users, especially pregnant women visitors, due to the expansion of the personal space of pregnant women so that it is different from other general visitors. With the expansion of the personal space of pregnant women, a behavior emerges, namely always keeping a distance so that other people do not easily touch or nudge the pregnant woman's stomach. This research specifically examines the store interior of the Mothercare brand, which is a retail store that provides all the special needs of pregnant women, babies and children. The choice of the brand is because Mothercare is the number one global retailer in the market for pregnant women, babies and children. This research focuses on the corridor of the display section of baby products and pregnant women. This is because the dimensions of the corridor width are not in accordance with human standards in general, especially for visitors to pregnant women who have expanded personal space. This study used a descriptive qualitative method by conducting studies through interviews, observation and distributing questionnaires to third trimester pregnant women respondents with a history of pregnancy for their first child. From the research results, it was found that the width dimension of circulation can significantly affect the personal space of pregnant women which results in perceptions and attitudes.Keyword : Interior Desing, Pregnancy Women, Personal Space, Retail Store, Mothercare

Abstract

The development of art deco cannot be separated from the influence of the situation and conditions of the times, where at that time Europe was developing an industrial revolution, so that technological inventions developed rapidly. The modern architectural movement that was developing at that time also influenced the art deco style and gave it a modern touch. Modern at that time was defined as being more prominent than the surrounding environment. This art is manifested in the selection of striking colors, unusual proportions, new materials and decorations. Art deco expression increasingly gained a place in the world of art with the publication of the book Art Deco by Bevis Hillier in America in 1969. One of the buildings that experienced the euphoria of the art deco concept was the Griffith Observatory, which at that time was very different from the function of art deco buildings in general, which tended to be commercial and multi-storey. In examining the concept of art deco architecture at the observatory, the researcher will use the art deco principles by Bevis Hillier, namely: shaped, ornaments and materials. Researchers will analyze the Griffith observatory based on the part of these art deco elements. To analyze the exterior of the building, the method used is to collect adequate literature data from articles, journals and books related to the art deco building style and the Griffith observatory, then the data obtained were used as descriptive guidelines for the application of art deco at the Griffith Observatory. In addition, researchers also observed each shape and color combination of several images on the Griffith Observatory. The conclusion of this study is that the Griffith Observatory fully adapts the concept of art deco architecture to the classical ancient Greek building forms, the use of ornaments in the form of astronomical symbolization patterns on the main door, chevron patterns on the building walls, aztec leaf patterns on the dividing terrace of the upper floor and paintings of ancient Greek legends. in the interior and the use of limestone material with white and cream saturation which is commonly used in art deco concept buildings. Abstract

Container is a component that has many sizes and types, in various countries, containers are used as containers to deliver goods. But the last 20 years make containers as a residence is a trend that began to be populer, especially around the port area. The use of containers is one of the right choices because the components are modular and easy to move around, but the construction aspect also needs to be considered in the preparation of those components. The purpose of this research is to understand the concept of modular architecture applied to the occupancy of Cité A Docks Student Housing, either modular system or modular structure using the main components in the form of containers. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with research variables using modular theory from Le Corbusier and prefabricated architectural theory from Ryan E. Smith. The findings of this study obtained that the Cite a Docks building has established the concept of modular architecture, either in the quality of each module of space or on the structure of the building. Each room module size is in accordance with the capacity of each occupant and considers the human scale as the size of each room. In the overall prefabricated structure system already uses steel prefabricated components, but there are different materials on the foundation components, which use reinforced concrete precast materials. Although materially there are 2 types of steel and reinforced concrete, but the entire component of this building has used modular components.
