This journals is an international journal, publishing original refereed articles on all aspects of mathematics education. Papers should address the central issues in terms which are of relevance across educational systems and informed by wider thinking in the field. The journal has three sections, covering research papers, book reviews, and current reports. The Research Papers section contains reports of studies involving empirical investigation and theoretical argumentation from which conclusions and implications can be drawn for future research and practice. Such reports are expected to show how the study builds on critical review of relevant literature and to provide an account of the methods and procedures used. Reports on thoughtful replications or variations of key earlier studies are welcome, as are critical reviews of some well-defined aspect of mathematics education. The journal welcomes high-quality research in any methodological tradition and is open to innovative and unusual approaches. All submissions are peer-reviewed.

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is very important in life and all the problems that exist in it by obtaining, managing and utilizing information. To achieve mathematical creative thinking ability, requires the strong character one of which is self-confidence. However in reality mathematical creative thinking ability and self-confidence of students in Indonesia is still low. One alternative learning to improve mathematical creative thinking ability and self-confidence is the Think, Talk, Write (TTW) with Mind Mapping learning strategy. The purpose of this study are: 1) To find out the increase in mathematical creative thinking abilities of students who obtain TTW strategies with Mind Mapping is higher than students who obtain conventional learning models; 2) To find out the achievement of self-confidence of students who obtain TTW strategies with Mind Mapping is better than students who obtain conventional learning models; 3) To find out whether there is a positive correlation between mathematical creative thinking abilities and self-confidence of students who obtain TTW strategy with Mind Mapping. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group experimental design. The population of this study was tenth grade students of High School No. 15 Bandung. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, using two classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. Based on the results of data analysis, the following conclusions are obtained: 1) The increase in mathematical creative thinking abilities of students who obtain TTW strategies with Mind Mapping is higher than students who obtain conventional learning models; 2) Self-confidence of students who obtain TTW strategies with Mind Mapping is better than with students who obtain conventional learning models; 3) There is a positive correlation between mathematical creative thinking ability and students' self-confidence who obtained the TTW strategy with Mind Mapping. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan suatu produk berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) yang valid dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Groups Investigation (GI) pada materi bangun datar segiempat. Metode penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) yang langkah-langkahnya telah dimodifikasi yaitu: (1) Potensi dan Masalah; (2) Pengumpulan Data; (3) Desain produk; (4) Validasi Desain; (5) Revisi Desain; dan (6) Produk Akhir. Instrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi RPP dan lembar validasi LKPD. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah data validasi dari 4 validator yang terdiri dari 2 orang Dosen Matematika FKIP UIR dan 2 orang Guru Matematika SMP PGRI Pekanbaru. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data validasi. Hasil penelitian pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran ini validitas RPP adalah 91,94% dan validitas LKPD adalah 91,14% yang mana memenuhi kriteria sangat valid. Maka berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diperoleh perangkat pembelajaran dengan kriteria sangat valid atau dapat digunakan tanpa revisi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena perlunya rangsangan terhadap penyampaian informasi kepada peserta didik. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran pada materi lingkaran berbasis adobe flash professional cs 6 agar peserta didik termotivasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R & D) dengan model penelitian ADDIE, tetapi penelitian ini hanya sampai pada tahap implementation. Hasil penelitian menunjukan respon kelayakan media pembelajaran pada kelompok kecil diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 3,57 dan respon kelayakan media pembelajaran pada kelompok besar diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 3,60. Hal ini menunjukan pengembangan media pada materi lingkaran berbasis adobe flash professional cs 6 menarik dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) Menganalisis konsep kemampuan pemahaman matematis, (2) Menganalisis konsep model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD), (3) Menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman matematis melalui model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divisons (STAD). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustaan atau library research. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Dengan teknik yang digunakan pada penelitian ini Editing, Organizing dan Finding. Analisi data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Deduktif, Induktif, dan Histori. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Kemampuan pemahaman matematis merupakan kemampuan individu untuk memahami, menjelaskan, serta mengungkapkannya kembali suatu materi pelajaran, dalam pelajaran matematika individu dapat menggunakan konsep, dapat menserjemahkan ke dalam bentuk lain misalnya dari kata-kata menjadi simbol, tabel, grafik, atau bentuk lainnya serta dapat menginterpretasikan ke bentuk penjelasan ringkasan, dan mengaplikasikannya pada kasus yang sederhana atau khusus, (2) Model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) menuntut peserta didik secara aktif yang terdiri dari lima langkah, yaitu: penyajian materi, pembagian kelompok,tes individual,perhitungan skor individu, dan rekognisi kelompok , (3) Kemampuan pemahaman matematis di tingkatan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) mengalami peningkatan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divison (STAD).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1). Mengetahui peningkatan pemecahan masalah terhadap matematik dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran investigasi kelompok; 2). Mengetahui respon siswa kelas VIIIF dalam pembelaran investigasi kelompok di SMP Negeri 4 Karangtengah. Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) Kurt Lewis yang dilakukan dari Siklus I, Siklus II dan Siklus III. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam pengujian hipotesis adalah adanya tes formatif untuk melihat persentase tingkat keberhasilan pemecahan masalah matematik, sedangakan dalam pengujian jurnal siswa dengan melihat persentase jawaban siswa untuk mengetahui positif atau negatifnya respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya penigkatan pada setiap langakah pemecahan masalah dari Siklus I, Siklus II, dan Siklus III. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model investigasi kelompok dapat meningkatkan meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik. Sikap siswa positif terhadap pembelajaran investigasi kelompok. Kata Kunci: Investigasi kelompok, Kemampuan pemecahan masalah mateamatik, sikap.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the ability of mathematics teachers to use computers, smartphones, and the internet according to their birth years (generation) and gender. The ability of teachers to use computers, smartphones, and the internet is beneficial to support mathematics learning using information and communication technologies. The research method was mixed research by surveying 92 mathematics teachers, 35 junior high school mathematics teachers, and 57 high school mathematics teachers in West Java. The results show that: (1) the ability of mathematics teachers in using computers, smartphones, and the internet has supported the application of technology-based learning in mathematics learning; (2) there are differences in the ability to use computers, smartphones, and the internet among the X, Y and Z generation of mathematics teachers. The ability in using computers, smartphones, and the internet of the Y and Z generation of mathematics teachers is better than that the of X generation; (3) there are differences in the ability in using computers, smartphones, and the internet between male and female teachers; male teachers are better than female teachers; (4) there is no significant difference in the ability in using computers, smartphones and internet between mathematics teachers at the high school and junior high school levels; (5) there is no interaction effect between teacher generations and levels of educational institution, on their achievement of the abilities in using computers, smartphones, and the internet

Abstract

The snow cube throwing learning model was developed with the aim of making students appreciate the usefulness of mathematics in everyday life. In accordance with the characteristics of this learning model, students are given various types of contextual teaching materials that aim to make students have good mathematical awareness. This study aims to analyze the mathematical awareness of students who receive snow cube throwing (SCTBE) learning based on exploration in terms of school categories. This study is a mix-method study with an explanatory sequential design. The research subjects were students of class VIII from three schools in Cimahi City. The results showed that: (1) SCTBE learning had the same impact on students' mathematical awareness in each school category. In other words, all students who receive SCTBE learning have the same awareness of the usefulness of mathematics in daily life, future studies and careers; and (2) The results of the analysis on each indicator show that the students' mathematical awareness in each school category is classified as good.
