Abstract

The new media give consequence to the study of communication sciences. Empirical facts showed that communication research often get stuck on the wrong footing basis in analyzing social conditions, but there is no doubt that the theory of communication should be in harmony with the development of technologies that facilitate society and interaction process. This study seeks to provide a description of how the development of the theory of communication and dialogue with communication problems emerging. David Holmes's view on the development of communication studies will overshadow this article. Abstract

Study on the behavior of Internet usage lately started a lot done. A study of Internet usage behavior seen in the perspective of the media system dependency theory in Indonesia is still hard to find. For this reason, so this research is done. Taking the subject of research is the empirical data because according to teens, the majority of Internet users are teenagers, so look at the behavior of adolescents within the perspective of the media system dependency theory seems interesting to do.The results showed that at the micro level, respondents chose the television media as the primary medium in bermedia activity, followed by the second after the Internet as a medium of television. But in terms of information retrieval, respondents chose the Internet as the main media in obtaining information, followed by television as a media both in the context of obtaining information. At the macro level, it is known that most respondents lived with the family of batih. In the perspective of the media system dependency an attribute theory, social environment gives influence to the respondents to select the medium used and determine which media are used to meet his needs. Other social systems are assumed to have influence is the participation of respondents in organisations in the school and outside the school. Note that the participation of respondents in organisations in the school and outside the school is a member of these organizations.Keywords: Media, Youth, Social System

Abstract

This research aims to find the role of power-actor in the illegal parking underworld around RSUP Dr. Sardjito area. By utilizing Gramscian and Foucauldian discourse analysis, this qualitative research with purposive sampling technique was able to reveal some findings: the power-actor in the illegal parking syndicate around RSUP Dr. Sardjito has been using their influence to establish illegal parking community, as well as its unwritten rules and regulations. The power-actor has the control over the distribution of the parking plots and they decide on who can allowed to work as illegal parking attendants, as well as to assign supervisors –whose role is to initiate and enforce the rules necessary to bind the community together and to protect its existence.Keywords: Illegal Parking, Gramscian, Foucauldian, Power-actor.

Abstract

Recently, there are a lot of study about communication done by scholars. Nearly all the aspects such as: Communicator, message, media, channel, communican are examined. Indeed it is very important and cannot be separated. However, we rarely pay attention to the communicators, so the study of communicators in science communication is very rarely done. This research tries to find out about how a Communicator make message, what is in the mind of the Communicator and how this might appear. This type of research is qualitative and using the paradigm of constructionism, and using methods of ethnography of communication, where researchers work directly, live together, feel what is perceived by the Communicator. Because this research is the research/study about Communicator, then the primary data will be one person that is leader of Padepokan Tjipto Boedaja as communicators.The result of this research is there are several stage in order to make message. First is exploration, in this stage a Communicator have realized what she made and how she will make it, Incubation at this stage ideas that had emerged last stored and absolute thinking, and wait for the right time for something. Second is Eliminated in this stage idea/message was born, Third, Execution, when the moment of inspiration or idea/message has appeared so someone will soon to make something. Here's what is known as the stage of Implementation (Fourth). By releasing any results during incubation. Either all the idea is good or less good, muntahkan everything without rest in a form of something planned and Fifth, Evaluation where the communicators will evaluate the ideas/messages he ever made.Keywords: Communicators, Creative Process, Message, Communication

Abstract

Intercultural communication activity would certainly not be separated from the cultural barriers that exist therein. This is due to the difference of values embraced by both cultures that mutually contact each other. This research aims to analyze how communication barriers between cultures is happening between Anna character that comes from the United Kingdom and King Mongkut's as well as the people that came from Thailand using the film Anna and The King as its object. Scenes in the film will be analyzed in qualitative descriptive. The results of the analysis showed that the communication barriers between cultures that happened to include the resistance barriers of perception, verbal and non verbal barriers. Keywords: Film, communication barriers between cultures

Abstract

Television is one of the mass media which represents the reality of people's lives. Television can illustrate various dimensions of life in society including the representation of a mother. On the impressions that a mother is portrayed as a rough figure, ruthless and dares to kill his son. The mother is also represented as a figure who is able to understand the needs and wishes of children. Television was able to bring the reality of life in various aspects and has a role for imaging to reality around us. Imaging reality of the figure of the mother in the ILC TVONE footage is in the form of sound and image. With the analysis of semiotik Peirce was chosen because investigators wanted to reveal how the depiction of the figure of the mother in the impressions. From the results of the analysis can be put forward that in the impressions it is represented as the mother figure, a rugged, ruthless and dares to kill her child, the mother figure in the impressions it contrary to representations of the mother in a society that is very fond of his son figure, full of warmth and hospitality, are able to understand the needs and wishes of children.Key words: representations, mother, television, semiotics

Abstract

Implementation of teaching and learning process of Civic Education at SMK PGRI III Salatiga is a research that related to the use of: Which methods used in the civic education teaching and learning process to determine the sources and means that used in the process of learning and teaching civic education, to know the assessment tools used in teaching and learning process of civic education.The purpose of research is to know the extent of which methods are achieved in the teaching and learning process of Civic Education as desired . Through interviews to Civic Education teachers of SMK PGRI III Salatiga as respondents, obtained data were analyzed qualitatively. Results of the analysis showed that in the implementation of the teaching and learning process of Civic Education, Civic Education teacher taught used vary methods and discussion method in conveying the material. Sources and suggestion which is used in the teaching and learning process is a Civic Education handbook and additional source materials and other means of support.
