Abstract

Smartphone users globally account for 67.1% of the world's total population, while in Indonesia they account for 73.7% of the total population. Excessive use of smartphones have a negative impact on individuals, one of which is social anxiety. Social anxiety is a feeling of discomfort when dealing with social situations. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between smartphone addiction and social anxiety in adolescents in Jenggik Village, Terara Health Center Working Area. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and cross-sectional approach. The study population was all teenagers in Jenggik Village and the sample amounted to 94 people who were taken using the slovin formula with simple random sampling technique. The data collection method used the SAS-SV and SAS-A questionnaires. Data analysis used spearman rank correlation analysis. The results showed that there was a relationship between smartphone addiction and social anxiety with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. The direction of the relationship is positive with moderate relationship strength. Respondents who experience smartphone addiction and social anxiety are dominated by women, this can occur because women are more concerned about appearance and trends, less able to think positively in their interpretations when interacting.

Abstract

Background: Home care is a health service that is carried out by professionals in the patient's residence with the aim of helping to fulfil the patient's needs in overcoming health problems. Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus will experience changes in themselves. Each individual responds and has different perceptions of these changes. The purpose of this study was to analyse the self-acceptance of type II Diabetes Mellitus patients after being given home care services: wound care. This research method is a quasi-experimental one-group pre-post test with home care service intervention: wound care. The instrument to measure foot care behaviour used the acceptance of illness scale (AIS) questionnaire. The results showed that before being given home care services: wound care the majority experienced low self-acceptance of 19 respondents (63.3%). While after being given home care services: wound care the majority experienced moderate self-acceptance of 12 respondents (40%). Data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test obtained a p-value of 0.002 so that the p-value <0.05 there is a difference in foot care behaviour before and after family support-based foot care education is given to respondents. Conclusion: The results showed that there were differences in self-acceptance before and after home care services: wound care.

Abstract

One of the natural processes in the development phase of the elderly is mental disorders. Mental disorders in the form of decreased cognitive function include perception, thinking, disorientation towards time and place and difficulty accepting new ideas. The nurse's role in this case is to carry out health screening to detect early mental health in the elderly. The aim of this research is to determine the results of the analysis of the cognitive function of the elderly using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) in Kauman Kidul Village, Salatiga City. This research design uses a descriptive method with a descriptive analytical approach. Sampling using proportional random sampling obtained a sample of 203 respondents. Data collection used the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) instrument with a validity value of r: 0.776 and reliability r: 0.827. The research results showed that there were 124 elderly respondents with normal cognitive function, 74 respondents with mild cognitive impairment, and 5 respondents with moderate cognitive impairment. The results of the research showed that the number of elderly with normal cognitive function was greater than the elderly who experienced decreased cognitive function, this was because the elderly in this study were dominated by young elderly. However, elderly people who experience cognitive decline cannot be avoided because it could be due to physiological changes in brain structure that occur normally as they age.  The elderly are expected to change and maintain an active lifestyle and participate in certain activities throughout their lives to prevent a decline in cognitive function and families are expected to provide emotional support in the form of special attention to the elderly to prevent impairment of their cognitive function.

Abstract

The elderly are an age group that has reached the final stage of life. The increase in the elderly population cannot be separated from health problems in the elderly, a decrease in organ function causes the emergence of various kinds of degenerative diseases. Degenerative diseases that many elderly suffer from include hypertension, cataracts, stroke, Diabetes mellitus, joint disorders, mental and heart disorders (RISKESDAS, 2018). Based on the results of Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia in the population aged ≥18 years was 34.11%. One of the causes of the high prevalence of hypertension is the reduced control rate for hypertension sufferers. This is shown in the results of a survey from the Ministry of Health in 2019, as many as 32.3% of hypertension sufferers do not regularly take hypertension medication and 13.3%. The impact of non-compliance with treatment is a significant and multiple decline in health status. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between health beliefs and treatment compliance in elderly people with hypertension. The design of this research is quantitative destructive research with a cross sectional approach. The data collection technique used was purposive sampling with a total sample of 60 respondents. The results of this study show a relationship between health beliefs and treatment compliance in elderly people with hypertension (p value = 0.032). Health service facilities are expected to be able to improve interventions in the education of line patients with hypertension, especially for elderly patients with hypertension who have poor health beliefs, so as to increase better perceptions of compliance with hypertension treatment.

Abstract

Background: In average, the patients who enter the High NursingDependency (HND) wards are the patients with total bed rest at risk of pressure wounds (Decubitus). Pressure wounds are one of the effects of hospitalization oncritical patients. In September 2022, there was one incident of pressure wounds out of a total of 1,030 patients. Pressure wounds can be prevented by maintainingthe integrity of the skin through the use of moisturizers by applying VirginCoconut Oil and lotions. Objective: to recognize the effectiveness of applying VCO and Lotion to the prevalence of pressure wounds Method: Quasi experimental quantitative with the design using two group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling technique. The samples were 42 respondents divided into two intervention groups; 21 people in Virgin Coconut Oil group and 21 people in Lotion group. The measurement tools were checklist sheet, pressure wound scale. Results: The result of the effectiveness test using the Mann Whitneyp value test is 0.638 (>0.05). The Wilxocon test in the Virgin Coconut Oil group value is 0.023 (<0.05), and the test in the lotion group is 0.034 (< 0.05). Then, it can be interpreted that there is an effect of applying Virgin Coconut Oil and Lotion on pressure wounds. Conclusion: There is an effect of applying VCO and lotion on pressure wounds. There is no significant difference between the uses of VCO and lotion. Recommendation: Researchers may apply Virgin Coconut Oil and Lotion toprevent pressure wounds (decubitus).
