Abstract

National identity is an identity that distinguishes one nation from another. The rapid development of globalization in the digital era has been able to influence national identity and has the potential to undermine the nation's cultural values. One example is the change in the function of fashion from what was originally only a primary need, now it has doubled as a lifestyle and trend of people in the world. However, the fashion trend in Indonesia is dominated by the influence of foreign cultures. Fashion from western countries and Korea has become the daily consumption of Indonesian people. Therefore, the acculturation of Indonesian culture with current fashion trends needs to be done so as not to further fade the nation's national identity. Batik as an intangible cultural heritage can also become the national identity of the Indonesian nation. So, researchers took the initiative to acculturate batik with current fashion trends in an effort to strengthen the national identity of the Indonesian nation. Knowing the interest of the younger generation, regarding our innovation in the form of acculturating batik with fashion trends. Survey-based research method by providing open-ended questions related to respondents' interest in acculturating batik with contemporary fashion trends to the population of the young group aged 15-19 years through an online survey with 100 samples and 9 samples for interviews with the surrounding distribution area around the islands of Borneo and Java. The younger generation is proud when wearing batik, but they don’t have the habit of using batik in their daily life. Researchers offer acculturation innovations to all respondents and they are interested in our innovations because they can still follow fashion trends in addition to wearing batik as their daily clothes and can give the effort to strengthen their national identity.

The film is one of the innovations of drama literary works. There are various types of films. One of them is an action movie that includes war and military action. This type of film is usually famous for bloodshed. Hacksaw Ridge Movie is just the opposite. The main character in this film is a medic soldier who is against killing or touching weapons. This character is the son of a former World War I corporal and a devout Adventist Christian. A devout Christian knows God's word and works on it. It is including the commandments that God said in the Torah. One of God's commands in the Torah in Exodus 20:13 (King James Version) is “Thou shalt not kill.” Bible says that a person who believes in God must be able to faithfully exercise his faith because God is faithful. The main character in this film has the determination to be faithful to his faith. The purpose of this study is to find evidence in the form of data relating to what makes the main character in this film decide not to kill, how he maintains his faith, and what effect he gets from his decision. In conducting this research, the writer uses descriptive methods with data collection are include literature study, observation, and note-taking. The collected data is then analyzed and presented qualitatively. The result showed that the writer found two data which became the strongest reason for the main character not to kill; nine pieces of data that prove how the main character fights for his faith; and eight data that prove the effects of the main character's determination. From this film, the writer can conclude that, if a person has true faith, he should work on that faith faithfully.

Finally, the authors report the findings that there are 247 analyzed data found from Indonesian to English. From 18 translation techniques from Molina and Albir, the translator found 5 different techniques. The analysis findings are as follows: Translation techniques found in the abstract: literal 190 times, borrowing 33 times, calque 10 times, adaptation 10 times, and compensation 4 times. Abstract

Final-year students should have the ability and competence to write, including in writing their thesis abstracts. Although short, abstract writing must pay attention to several things. One indicator of good writing is marked by using logical, consistent words that are easy to understand. This study aims to identify the types of cohesion (grammatical and lexical) and coherence in writing abstracts for final students of AKI University and whether they have fulfilled cohesive and coherent writing. This study analyzes 16 undergraduate thesis abstracts for the English Literature study program for the 2019-2022 and 2020-2021 academic years. This study uses qualitative and quantitative research methods to achieve this goal. The result shows that the students use lexical cohesion devices much more than grammatical ones. Unfortunately, neither substitution nor ellipsis devices were found. Even so, the students have pretty good competence in making cohesive abstracts. On the other hand, the results of the coherence analysis show that all students have a good understanding of using all aspects of coherence. But even though they use all aspects, not all students succeed in creating coherent writing wholly.

The specific purpose of this research is to provide education on digital literacy learning in English subjects through the Protexan application to detract the herd stupidity in society through students as agents of change in implementing health protocols in the era of freedom to learn. The method used in this research is the research & development (R&D) method. The research was carried out in several stages such as preliminary, prototype creation, expert validation, and media testing. The design and teaching media materials are matched through sorting the data processing at an early stage. This Protexan was tested on educators and students with satisfactory results above 70%. The material is in the form of procedural texts in English following the curriculum in high schools in the independent era of learning. The Covid-19 socialization that is integrated with the learning application is used as additional information for students to continue or to carry out post-pandemic health protocols so that students know what actions need to be taken in the family, friendship, and social spheres to avoid Covid-19.
