Abstract

Purpose of this study is to describe the ability of student Class X-APK 2 SMK PGRI Dampit to solving the problem story based from problem solving step by polya. this research used descriptive-qualitative research. The result from this study explain that the student ability to solve the problem by polya step are different in each category. Students at high, medium and low category have been able to understand the meaning from every problem in the ability to make a plan, the student from high category have been able to make a plan, students from medium were not fully able to make a plan, beside the students from low category can’t make a single plan. The students ability to implement the plan can be seen from how students make a plan. Meanwhile the ability to make a review only student from higt category that can carry it out.

Abstract

This research aims to knowing the students when solving mathematical problemsin learning used scientific approach in class VII C SMPN 11 Malang. This type of research is descriptive qualitative approach. This research was conducted in SMPN 11 Malang on 7, 11, and August 14, 2015. Object of this study is the activity of students in solving mathematical problems. The subjects were students of class VII C SMPN 11 Malang. Methods of data collection in this study of student observation sheet, interview, and documentation.The results showed that : Activity of students when solving mathematical problems in learning used scientific approach has been implemented properly in accordance syntax that has been planned although the results are still not optimal. The results of observations at the first meeting showed that there were 36 students who observed the problem, three students were asked 27 students to reason, 23 students tried to solve it, two students presenting answers. The second meeting of the study there were 36 students observe the problem, two students asked 33 students to reason, 29 students tried, 4 students present.The third meeting there were 36 students observe, 4 students asked, 32 reasoning, 28 tries,and no students were present.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to describe the implementation of scientificapproach used guided inquiry, student’s learning activities, student’s critical thinking skills in teaching and learning mathematic. This type of research is a descriptive research, with quantitative and qualitative approaches. A method in collecting the data used two instruments including observation, and test. The data were obtained from 32 students in class VIII-2 SMP Negeri 3 Malang. The results showed that the implementation scientific approach used guided inquiry in teaching and learning mathematic can be implemented in accordance with the learning steps which have been prepared with an average of 82,39 teacher activity and 78,13 the learners activities. The activity of learners during the learning process is good category, with details of the activity of observing, reasoning, trying and communicate indicate same category, which is good, whereas asking activity indicate good enough category. The whole ability of students critical thinking skills are very good, with with the acquisition of which is high on the aspects identifying assumptions given, and indicate good category with revealing indicator data/definition/theorem to solve problems and evaluation aspects to solve problems.

Abstract

mathematics communication is a way to express mathematical ideas, either inoral way or written way toward mathematics problems. The ability of students’mathematics communication is very important although there are only few students who can communicate it nowadays, so that it makes the students’ ability decreased. Students only do plain works that demanded a result but do not or rarely asked the origin or process steps in doing it. In determining the ability of students’ written mathematics communication, a teacher can conduct an assessment. One of the assessments that can be used in mathematics learning is a performance assessment.This research used a qualitative descriptive type with written mathematics communication test. Meanwhile, a written rubric of mathematics communication ability was used for analyzing the data. The research was conducted in SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Singosari with students of class X as research subject. A learning subject that was used in measuring students' mathematics communication ability was a system of linear equations and inequalities. In addition, a written test was used as the instrument of this research. The data of written test will be analyzed descriptively then obtained the following data: the ability of students’ written mathematics communication in all assignments is in good category.

Abstract

This research was conducted to develop teaching materials modul-based mathworksheets (LKS) with problem based learning approach. By developing the teaching materials is expected to help students learn independently and improve students’ ability in solving mathematical problems. The teaching materials developed with 4-D Thiagarajan development model that has been modified into 3-D that define, design, development. Validated teaching materials developed by lecturers and teacher of mathematics. The result were obtained validity for two aspects : the average material 4 and the average media aspect 4. These teaching materials declared valid. For the feasibility study gained an average of 4.1 and student response gained an average of 4.2, which was developed into simpleteaching materials. And as many as 26 students scored above the KKM with a percentage of 87% proved the effectivity of the teaching materials.

Abstract

This research is the application of research that aims to: 1), describes theapplication of a scientific approach to learning strategy everyone is a teacher here 2) describe the motivation of students in the scientific approach to learning strategy everyone is a teacher here, and 3) describe the communication capabilities student in writing at a scientific approach to learning strategy everyone is a teacher here. The approach used in this study is a qualitative and quantitative approach is descriptive. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 3 Pujon Satu Atap on 22 April-25 April 2015. The object of this research is the activity or process of student mathematics communications in writing and student motivation through a scientific approach to learning strategy everyone is a teacher here. Subject in this study were students of class VIII-B SMP Negeri 3 Pujon Satu Atap. Instruments used in this research is observation sheets, test sheets and sheets questionnaire. The procedure of this study were: 1) the planning stage 2) the stage of implementation and 3) the final stage. The results showed that: (1) There is an increase in student motivation after the adoption of a scientific approach to learning strategy everyone is a teacher here. (2) In the article there is an increasing communications capabilities results indicate that mathematical communication skills in writing the second test is better than the first test.

Abstract

The students’ low ability in absorbing the information they got in thelearning activity. Another factor was students’ self-concept which not quitegood. Students’ self-concept can be declared through their selfunderstanding, as well as their self-confidence toward their ability to solvetheir assignment or problem. This study was aimed to investigate the effectof learning style toward the mathematical creative thinking ability, toinvestigate the effect of self-concept toward mathematical creative thinkingability, and to investigate the effect of learning style and self-concept towardmathematical creative thinking ability. This study was one of the ex-postfacto with descriptive approach. Based on the aim of this study, this studyused regression analysis technique in the form of simple analysis regressionand double analysis regression. The result of this study showed that therewas an effect of learning style toward mathematical creative thinking ability,there was an effect of self-concept toward mathematical creative thinkingability, and there was an effect of learning style and self-concept towardmathematical creative thinking ability

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) knowing the positive influence ofethnomathematics-contained PBL model towards mathematicalrepresentation skill, (2) knowing the positive influence of mathematicaldisposition towards mathematical representation skill, and (3) knowing thepositive influence of ethnomathematics-contained PBL model andmathematical disposition skill towards mathematical representation. This isa quantitative research. Four classes in fifth semester from Educational ofElementary School students of 2016/2017 became the population of thisresearch. The sample in this research was Education of Elementary School2 (two) as the experiment class, and class of Educational of ElementarySchool 1 (one) as the control class. As for data collection, the used ofdocumentation, test, questionnaire, and observation technique was done tocomplete this research. The research analysis data was using SPSS 16,which is homogeneity test, normality test, simple regression test, and doubleregression test. The result showed that (1) there is positive influence ofethnomathematics-contained Problem Based Learning (PBI) model andmathematical disposition skill toward mathematical representation, (2) thereis positive influence of mathematical disposition towards mathematicalrepresentation skill, (3) there is positive influence of Problem BasedLearning (PBL) model and mathematical disposition skill towardmathematical representation.

Abstract

This study aimed to know if the X grade students of SMA Negeri 4 KotaTegal who were taught by using SAVI learning approach assisted problemcard were: (1) reach the learning target achievement, (2) there is a distinctionbetween students and the students who are taught by using SAVI learningapproach towards their liveliness and achievement, (3) the liveliness andachievement of students are better than the students who are taught by usingSAVI learning approach. The researcher conducted the study at SMA Negeri4 Kota Tegal in 2016/2017 academic year. The population under study was282 students. This study used quasi-experimental methodology whichconsisted of 61 students as the population sample. Cluster random samplingtechnique was used to determine the population sample. The Instruments ofthis study were observation on the students’ liveliness of mathematicslearning which had been passed validity testing by the expert and theachievement test of mathematic learning which had been passed validity andreliability testing. Furthermore, the researcher used proportion test, manovatest and T2-Hotteling test as the data analysis technique. The results of thestudy on the X grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Kota Tegal showed: (1) Thestudents who were taught by using SAVI learning approach assisted problemcard reached the target achievement, (2) there were differences between thestudents who were taught by using SAVI learning approach assisted problemcard and the students who were taught by using SAVI learning approach interms of students’ liveliness and achievement. (3) the liveliness andachievement of the students who were taught by using SAVI learningapproach assisted problem card were better than the students who were taughtby using SAVI learning approach.

Abstract

The research has a goal to describe writing mathematical student capabilitybased on mathematics expression aspect and writing text aspect on thesystem equation linear two variable lesson.The research is using qualitativeapproach which creature of descriptive. The collecting technique of datawhich done is about the result of answering test. The result’s analysis ofthe research student capability on writing mathematical expression andwriting text which be on the system equation linear two variable matter isabout the student can writing mathematics model which suitable with thematter has given, but did not write the formula completely. The result’sanalysis of test on the writing text aspect, student can write the symbolexactly but there is notconsistently and less coherent on writing steps. Ashortage of mathematics expression and writing text because of student lesson understanding what it asked on the matter. The abilities’ result of studentsmathematics written based on expression mathematics on the highcathegories and get average about 67,54%, while getting result of writingtext on the middle cathegories as about 60,52%.
