Abstract

This research is to describe (1) the kind of figures of speech that is used in the song of Misramolai’s Album of Tigo Bulan Cinto Tajalin, (2) the function of the kind of figures of speech in the lyric of song of Misramolai’s Album Tigo bulan cinto tajalin. The data in this research are the figures of speech that is looked from the kind of figure of speech and the function of figures of speech Misramolai’s song’s lyric in the album,  Tigo Bulan Cinto Tajalin. This research is from the lyrics of the 10 songs of misramolai’s in the album Tigo Bulan Cinto Tajalin. The data is collected by: listening, transcript it, clarifying, and marking the word. Base on the research there are 59 figures of speech which function to make it concrete, to make it clear, to make it beautiful, and to make it great.

Abstract

The study aims to describe and analyze the expression of the ban, meaning rationalization, and social functioning ban public expression in Kanagarian Inderapura Kecamatan Pancung Soal Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The data source of this research is oral sources. Oral sources, which ban the phrase spoken by people in communication obtained through interviews. Data collection using interviews, records, and record. Recording method used to record all information submitted informant. The method used to record record important information obtained from informants. Based on the study concluded the following. First, in the expression of 79 found expression prohibition Prohibition. Second, in the expression of the social restrictions found expression prohibition 3 functions, namely remind, prohibit, and educate. Third, the prohibition contained in the expression of the meaning of rationalization. The phrase is also called superstition ban because it involves a mystical belief.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the kinds of unpair in gender found in short stories collections book Mereka Bilang SayaMonyet! karya Djenar Maesa Ayu. This research will be a qualitatif research by using descriptif method. Analysing of data is done descriptively. Based on purpose sampling, five short stories will be discussed, such as, ”Lintah”, ”Durian”, ”Melukis Jendela”, ”Menepis Harapan”, dan ”Wong Asu”. Based on analysing of structur, these short stories; ”Lintah” and ”Melukis Jendela” use convensional plot, and ”Durian”, ’Menepis Harapan”, and ”Wong Asu” use unconvensional plot, the characters in the stories are described analiticaly and dramaticaly, the setting is about living in metropolis in 2000, and discussed point is about mens’s governance on women’s sexuality. The conclusion is that these short stories show unfair in gender of women, such as strictness and stereotype. The strictness in short story ”Lintah”, ”Durian”, ”Melukis Jendela”, and ”Wong Asu” is about violation of women. The  strictnes in short story ”Menepis Harapan” is stereotype.

Abstract

The purposes of this article is to explain the process and the improvement  ability to write a short story using guided exercises at X.2 SMAN 6 Padang student. This type of research finished by using descriptive method trough four stages in each cycle ie planning, action, observation and reflection. The research data in the form of short stories written tests, interviews, observations and field notes sheet student. Based on the results of the study concluded that the precycle average is 46,11% of the students qualified nearly enough, in cycle 1 is sufficiently increased  to 65,29% in cycle 2 and  the average value of student learning to write short stories increased to 89,61% with exelent qualifications.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe (1) the structure of the text spells batatah, (2) supporting aspects incantations, (3) the process of succession mantra batatah in Nagari Lubuk Rao Elevated Southern District, Pasaman. This research is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collected through the techniques of observation and recording interviews. The study's findings that the structure of the text consists of parts spell batatah opener, the content, and the cover, as well as diction, figurative language (style). Batatah incantations supporting aspects are (a) time: free, (b) the place: in the yard or in the house, (c) events/opportunities: used when the child is eleven months old and above, (d) the perpetrator: the have a mantra that has got inheritance from generation to generation, (e) equipment: seven floral art, black soil, a carpet or rug, yellow rice, bertih, hair oil of lemon, root crops and frankincense, gold ring/dagger/ knife, and water, (f) clothing: free but polite, and (g) means: sitting cross-legged, sit cross-legged and squat. Process in inheritance batatah mantra is to provide the requirements specified by the shaman, in the form of money potluck, knife, blade of steel/a seamstress, a white cloth/ shroud piece.

Abstract

This was a descriptive qualitative research which is aimed to describe and analyze educational values in Children’s Story published in Singgalang Daily Newspaper, Sunday Edition, 2011. There were four kinds of educational values; educational value of character, educational value of social care, educational value of intelligence, and educational value of religious. This research found that there were several educational values in this children story. They were not being defamatory, patient, tenderhearted and compassionate, obeying the rules, upright, fair, wise, shy, respectful, positive thinking, honest, talking politely, humble, asking for permission, do not take the right of others, care, feeling what others feel, mutual help, fear of being alone, becoming obedient citizen, cooperation, care to the environment, consensus and agreement, sharing with others, fasting critically, thinking logically, concluding critically, solving the problem creatively, elaborating problem critically, seeking halal sustenance, praying and thanking to the god, and welcomed the arrival of fasting time.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe (1) the characteristics of women as individuals, (2) the characteristics of women as members of society. The research data was characteristic of Minangkabau women in kaba siti kalasun. The source of the research data was obtained from kaba siti kalasun itself. Data were collected by using a descriptive method that promotes appreciation of the interaction between concepts studied empirically. The research findings were characteristic of Minangkabau women in kaba siti kalasun as follows: female characteristics as a person: having the nature of love, the nature of patient, gentle nature, and life orientation, and characteristics of women as members of society: the relationship with the environment/other people and have a concern environment/others.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is (1) describing the structure of pasambahan Mampasandiangan Anak Daro jo Marapulai at Kenagarian Air Bangis Kabupaten Pasaman Barat, (2) describing the function of pasambahan Mampasandiangan Anak Daro jo Marapulai at Kenagarian Air Bangis Kabupaten Pasaman Barat, (3)  The implication in Indonesia language study. The data of this research is  pasambahan Mampasandiangan Anak Daro jo Marapulai. The sources of the data in this research getting from expression of pasambahan and successful interview with the informant. The collected of the data by write method and listening. Finding of the research is the structure of pasambahan consist of opening, to deliver of the meaning and closing. The plot of pasambahan consist of pasambahan manyiriah and pasambahan Mampasandiangan Anak Daro jo Marapulai. The function of pasambahan consist of social function, education function, moral function, tradition function, religious function and language function. The implication in Indonesia language study can give advantages on Indonesia language study at class X the second grade of Senior High School with the standard competition “to tell the information to pass write a paragraph and speech text” and basic competence “to arrange of speech text”.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe petatah-petitih and moral value ​​contained in each petatah-petitih that exist in society in Nagari Koto Baru Kecamatan Kubung Kabupaten Solok. The research data is moral value in petatah-petitihused by society in Nagari Koto Baru Kecamatan Kubung Kabupaten Solok. The data source of this research is the source of oral, the verbal sources arepetatah-petitih spoken by people in communication. Data were collected using interviews, recording methods and methods of record. The study's findings include two things: (1) form petatah-petitih, petatah-petitih of is including oral folklore and has implied intent of petatah-petitih is presented, in order to not feel offended, (2) moral values ​​in petatah-petitih, custom  moral values ​​can be seen through the four factors commonly called in custom, that is pasing raso, pareso, malu, and sopan. Religious moral values ​​are moral values ​​in Islam.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explain the process and the improvement of learning outcomes argumentation writing skills aided brainstorming class X.1 SMA Negeri 2 Tebo that is viewed from four argumentation writing assessment indicators, that are make sure the reader, proof the turth, change the mind of reader, and show the fact. Based on the research’s results it can be concluded that the application of brainstorming can improve the process and learning outcomes argumentation writing skills of students of class X.1 SMA Negeri 2 Tebo. It can be seen in the significant average of mark. In preliminary observations (pre-cycle) the average is 39,16% then in first cycle is 52,67%, the second cycle is 75,67%.
