Abstract

This study aimed to describe the structure, procedures, and functions khatam Al-Quran ceremony Pasambahan in Nagari Tabek Patah Salimpaung Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Studies theories used include (1) Pasambahan, (2) Pasambahan as oral Sastra, (3) Delivery 0f oral literature, (4) Pasambahan structure, (5) Pasambahan function, and (6) Al Quran khatam ceremony. This study uses descriptive qualitative kind. Pasambahan structure generally consists of four parts, namely the opening Sambah, Sambah statement, content delivery, and closing Sambah. Structure Pasambahan the Quran khatam ceremony consists of several stages Pasambahan delivery, first Pasambahan betel, Pasambahan juadah, Pasambahan eating, drinking, and Pasambahan khatam. Pasambahan has six function is the function of 1) the function of religion 2) custom function 3) moral function 4) educational function 5) the function of language and, 6) social functioning.

Abstract

The purpose to the research are described the speech act and to describe the strategy of speech act who use by a pavament seller on transaction in Pasar Raya Padang. The data of the research is speech act that used by the pavemant seller. On the research the writer choose the oral data as the primary source, with direct speech by informan as native speaker. The writer collected data with simak libat cakap methode and technique record. On the research, writer found several problem. First the writer found four kind of declaration of speech act who use by the seller on the transaction; (a) decision speech act, (b) canceled speech act, (c) forbid speech act, (d) permission speech act. Second, there is three strategies that use by seller; (a) the strategy of directspeech act without politeness, (b) the strategy of direct speech act with possitive politeness, (c) the startegy of direch speech act with negative politeness.

Abstract

This article was wrote to (1) describle the form of directive speech act that was used by the teacher in teaching and learning process, (2) describle strategy of speech act of teacher in teaching and learning process at Nusa Indah kindergarten. The data of this study were directive speech act of teacher kindergarten. The primary source of data were speech act of teacher at Nusa Indah kindergarten. Data were collected by using observation methods and record technique and note taking as an advanced technique. The findings of the study showed that there are five form of directive speech act, which was command, appeal, suggest, advise and defy. Two strategy of speech act are the admittedly without platitude of speech act and the admittedly by platitude in positive manners of speech act.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the reflection of the woman characteristic in the novel Kekuatan Cinta by Sastri Bakri. Some theory that use in this research are: (1) the meaning of novel, (2) parts of novel, (3) the approach when understand literature, (4) the meaning of woman’s reflection, (5) the woman’s reflection as herself, (6) the reflectionof woman as a civil. This research is kind of qualitative research by using the core analysis approach. The aim of analyzing woman characteristic in the novel is to know the reflectionby main character. The result of this research shows that the reflection of the woman, Sas, as a strong woman through life.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the shape, meaning, structure, function, category, and value education of an expression of folk handicratft in Kenagarian Padang Laweh Kecamatan Sungai Tarab Kabupaten Tanah Datar. The data of this study is the prohibition expression Minangkabau in Kenagarian Padang Laweh. Source of research data is the primary source of oral sources as spoken by the informant as the original speakers. Data was collected using the methods and techniques refer to the record and advanced engineering techniques as noted. The findings of the study include 8 things: (1) transcription in Kenagarian Padang Laweh prohibition expression into Indonesian, (2) the shape of prohibilition expression, (3) meaning of prohibilition expression, (4) structure of prohibilition expression, (5) function of prohibilition expression, (6) category of prohibilition expression, (7) value education of prohibilition expression.

Abstract

This article was written to describe vocabulary of student, ability to write expository narrative, relation mastery of vocabulary with mastery of  write expository narrative. This research method is deskriptive. Data in this research is objectives result test for means vocabulary of ability student and performance tests in the form of write expository narrative essay for means of ability student to write expository narrative. Based on result of research, congcludes three things. First, mastery of vocabulary is at more than enough qualification (71,92). Second, ability to write expository narrative is at good qualification(81,55).third, there is significant relationship between mastery of vocabulary and mastery write expository narrative.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the process of students ability development at class VII-1 SMP Negeri 4 Sutera in writing poetry by using pictures media. This research is a kind of classroom action research which using descriptive methods. The population of this research is all students of class VII-1 SMP 4 Sutera. The data was collected in the form of tests and non-tests. The test is used to collect the data of students’ capability to write poetry, while non-test is used to collect the data of the media pictures application in poetry writing. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that learning to write poetry by using pictures media can improve the ability of students SMP 4 Sutera class VII-1 in writing poetry.

Abstract

This article was written to determine the effect of SRT on the reading comprehension class VII SMPN 8 Padang. Research data is the result of the final reading comprehension test given to both groups of samples. Data were collected by way of giving a test reading comprehension with SRT in the experimental group and the test reading comprehension without SRT in the control group. Reading comprehension ability of both groups were compared to see the effect of SRT by using t-test formula. The results showed that (1) the reading comprehension class VII SMPN 8 Padang using SRT are in good qualification; (2) the reading comprehension class VII SMPN 8 Padang without using SRT is more than enough to qualify; and (3) based on the results of the t-test concluded that there was a significant influence on the use of SRT in teaching reading comprehension class VII SMPN 8 Padang.

Abstract

The purpose of this studyis to describe and analyze the values ​​of education contained in the novel of Khrisna Pabichara, Sepatu Dahlan, include: (1)hard work, (2) compassion, (3) discipline, (4) patient, (5) sportsmanship and its implicationsin learning Indonesia Language. The data is novel elements that reveal aspects of values ​​education, character education. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The found ofthe study is the values ​​contained in then ovelis the value ofcharacter education, which includes:(1) 10 data on hard work, (2) 12 data about affection, (3) 10 data on discipline, (4) 8 data about thepatient, (5) 2 data on sportsmanship. The results ofthe study entitled "Values ​​Educationin the Novel Sepatu Dahlan Khrisna Pabichara work and its implications in learning Indonesia Language" can be used for learning in class XI semester I of high school, on reading—aspect, SK (7), KD(2).

Abstract

This article was written to detect the influence of audio visual media concerning short story writing skill of class VII students of SMPN 19 Padang. The data of this research were the result of the short story writing final test. The data were collected by giving short story writing test through audio visual media and without audio visual media. The hipotesis tested by using test-t formula. The result indicated that (1) the arithmetic average of the students’ short story writing skills experiment group were 72,53; (2) the arithmetic average of the students’ short story writing skills control group were 62,04; and (3) according to test-t’s result, can be concluded that there was a significant influence of the used of audio visual media to the short story writing skill of class VII students of SMPN 19 Padang.
