Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describethe type and functions of figure of speech contained in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surgaworks Tere Liye. Based on the descriptive analysis found figure of speech hyperbole, metonymy, personification, metaphor/simile, metaphor, sinekdoke, euphemism, epipet, epanalipsis, antanaliksis, mesodiplosis, epizueksis, anaphora, sarcasm, cynicism, paradox and antithesis. The function is a figure of speech concrete, compare, smoothing, confirm, beautifying and insinuate/criticize.

Abstract

The  purposes of this study were to (1) describe, able to apreciation short story class XI Senior hight school 16 Padang, (2) describe, capable to write short story class XI Senior hight school 16 Padang, (3) the analities contribute able to apresiation short story to capable write short story class XI Senior hight school 16 Padang. The data this studi of were two kind test, is objective and write test. Objective test use for colleted able data student in the appreciation short story.The principle research conclude three case. First, capable appreciation short story student class XI senior hight school 16 Padang qualification at qualification moreb than enough (72,77). Second capable write short story  student class XI senior hight school 16 Padang at qualification well (78,89).Third,able appreciation short story contribute to capable write short story student class XI senior hight school 16 Padang as big as 25%, and more influence by factor other not research in this research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is describe the values of character education which is contained in the novel of Asma Nadia “Rumah Tanpa Jendela” such as : (1) loving god and truth. (2) responsibility, discipline, and self independent. (3) respect and courtesy. (4) affection, care, and teamwork. (5) self-comfident, creative and never give up. (6) fair and spirit leadership. (7) nice and humble, (8) tolerance and peace. This  is a kind of qualitative research by using descriptive method which can be used to describe data in the novel of Asma Nadia “RumahTanpa Jendela”. The steps in analyzing the data is First, describe the data which is related to the values of character education. Second, interprete the data that have been analyzed. Third, divide the  data according to the values of character education. Fourth, conclude the result of the reseach.

Abstract

This article was written to detect the influence of picture media to thepoem writing skill of class 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tigo Nagari Kabupaten Pasaman.The data of this research were the results of the poem writing final test. The data were collected by giving poem writing test through picture media and without picture media. The hipotesist tested by using t-test formula. The results indicated that (1) the arithmetic average of the students’ poem writing skills experiment class were 75,19; (2) the arithmetic average of the students’ poem writing skills control class were 59,26; and (3) according to t-test’s results, can be concluded that there was a significant influence of the used of picture media to the poem writing skill of class 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tigo Nagari Kabupaten Pasaman.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were (1) to describe the speech act genre in the coloumn containing phity rubric of Mang Usil in the Kompas Daily, (2) the speech act strategy in the coloumn containing phity rubric of Mang Usil in the Kompas Daily, and (3) the speech act function in the coloumn containing phity rubric of Mang Usil in the Kompas Daily. The data of this study were the 76 pairs of the testimony and statement sentences in the coloumn containing phity rubric of Mang Usil in the Kompas Daily September 2012. The data resources of this study was the coloumn containing phity rubric of Mang Usil in the Kompas Daily September 2012. The data was collected by using the data technic analisys. The result of this study were the speech act genre that the most showed is the representatif speech act, the speech act strategy that the most showed was the disguised of speech act, and the speech act function that the most showed were collaborative and conflictive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to describe the structure and meaning contained in the “ngkapan pantang larang” pregnant women who are at Kenagarian pangian District Lintau Buo Tanah Datar. This research isa qualitative study using descriptive methods. The data in this study is the “ungkapan pantang larang” pregnant women who are at Kenagarian pangian District Lintau Buo Tanah Datar. The findings of this study are: (1) structure of the “ungkapan pantang larang” pregnant women who are at Kenagarian pangian District Lintau Buo Tanah Datar, (2) the meaning of the “ungkapan pantang larang” pregnant women who are at Kenagarian pangian District Lintau Buo Tanah Datar.

Abstract

The porpuse of this research is to describtive (1) kind and (2) type of sentence that produce by afasia. Sufferer methodology that used in this afasia sufferer teenager 16 year old named Anggela Efellin. According to research result and discussion in counclude that teen with afasia suffer of the subject (1) can produce news sentence, question sentence, order sentence, single sentence, and complex sentence, (2) can produce sentence with type S-P, P-S, S-K, P-K, S-P-K, S-K-P, K-P-S, P-S-K, S-P-O, O-P-S, K-S-P-O, and S-P-O-K.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) describing the category of someone’s idiom faith in Tapan, Basa Ampek Balai subdictrict, Pesisir Selatan regency. (2) Describing about the meaning of someone’s idiom faith in Tapan, Basa Angkek Balai subdictrict, Pesisr Selatan regency. (3)describing the function of someone’s idiom faith in Tapan, Basa Angkek subdictrict, Pesisir Selatan regency. In this research consist of the data about the idiom of someone’s faith in Tapan, Basa Angkek Balai subdictrict, Pesisr Selatan regency. The data has been collected by listening method, interviewing, recording and written technique.  The founding of this research is the highest category of someone’s idiom faith is about rumah category and rumah tangga job. (2) The meaning of someone’s idiom faith in Tapan belongs to analogy and direct speech.(3) the function of someone’s idiom faith in Tapan is to educate and build someone’s faith and religion. The category that has in Tapan is not only about human but also the animal adventure, plants, and others things that someone’s beliefs or magic.

Abstract

The purposeof this studyweredescribe: (1) self-image and social image profeminis character women, (2) self-image and social image kontrafeminis character women. The data of this study were female character and image of women. Sources of data in this study is novel Paradise Lost MiraW works published by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2010. Data collected with descriptive methods and techniques detailed description. The study's findings are image profeminis figures in the novel Paradise Lost, among others Wiwiek Sartono, Tina and Lina. The characters in the novel kontrafeminis Paradise Lost, among others Lestari Prihatini, Mother, Intan Inawati, Lila and Bi Umi. Images of women in this novel consists of : (1) women's self-image that reflects the character of adult women who choose and determine attitudes and feelings through reasonableness, (2) the social image of women that reflects the character is good or bad behavior of leaders in the community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the structure, function, and cultural value of  Legend Sibunian Mount Singgalang in Nagari Pandai Sikek Kecamatan X Koto Kabupaten Tanah Datar. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive analysis methods. The data in this study is Legend Sibunian Mount Singgalang. Sources of data in this study is a native who knows exactly about the Legend Sibunian Mount Singgalang in Nagari Pandai Sikek Kecamatan X Koto Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Data was collected techniques using freely refer proficient, proficient techniques, recording techniques, and technical notes. The findings of this study are to description of Legend of the Sibunian Mount Singgalang, structure of Legend Sibunian Mount Singgalang, functions  Legend of the Sibunian Mount Singgalang, and cultural value  Legend Sibunian Mount Singgalang in Nagari Pandai Sikek Kecamatan X Koto Kabupaten Tanah Datar.
