Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the ability of vocabulary class XI student of SMAN 1 Guguak, (2) to describe the ability to write essays arguing Negeri1 high school students of class XI Guguak, (3) describe the relationship between vocabulary skills with the ability to write an argument essay graders XI SMA Negeri 1 Guguak. This research is quantitatively using descriptive. The population was 195 0rang as much in five local spread. The sample of this study were 30. The percentage of samples 15% of the total population of students per class. The data of this study in the form of objective test results for the multiple-choice vocabulary test consisting of 30 items about. Based on the analyzes of the data were performed, obtained the following results. First, the average level of vocabulary class XI student of SMAN 1 Guguak are in good qualification (82.66%) in the range of 76-85%. Second, the average ability of students to write essays arguing class XI SMA Negeri 1 Guguak be more than enough in qualifying (74.68%) in the range of 66-75%. Third, there is a significant positive relationship between relationship vocabulary with the ability to write an argument essay class XI student SMAN 1 Guguak, obtained t value of 9.07 is greater than the t table with degrees liberated (n-2) and a significant level of 95 % is equal to 1.701.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe differences the Minangkabau language phonetic in Kenagarian Sinuruik and Kajai. This research is a qualitative with descriptive method. Informants study determined 8 people. The data collection of this research is through the method see, interviewing, recording and recordkeeping. Data analysis techniques in this study were (1) transcribing speech into written language, (2) inventory data from the recording to classify words with different pronunciation sounds/phonemes at the beginning, middle and end of words, (3) classify the difference sounds/phonemes the same word by local speakers, (4) make the conclusion. The results concluded that the differences in phonetics and pronunciation in the language of Minangkabau in Sinuruik and Kajai as follows. First, found 9 differences vocals. Second, found 12 differences consonants. Thirdly, found 3 differences diphthongs. Fourth, Found 3 different mixtures.

Abstract

There are three purposes of this study were to (1) describe the pattern of declarative Minangkabau language sentence for five years old children (2) describe the pattern of interogative Minangkabau language sentence for five years old children, and (3) describe the pattern of imperative Minangkabau language sentence for five years old children. Data were collected by using listening methods that are listening-speaking methods and free listening that included speaking. The subjects of this study were one person. Based on the result of study and explanation, it were concluded; The first, the pattern of declarative Minangkabau language sentence for five years old children were 10 pattern. Declarative sentence for five years old children consist of 1-9 spoken words. The second, the pattern of interrogative Minangkabau language sentence for five years old children were 5 pattern. Interrogative sentence for five years old children consist of 1-6 spoken words. The third, ,the pattern of imperative Minangkabau language sentence for five years old children were6 pattern. Imperative sentence for five years old children consist of 1-5 spoken words.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were (1) to descript style of shimile language that used in novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, (2) to descript the style of shimile language which is more used in novel dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, (3) to descript the style of shimile language function in novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The data of this study are sentences inside of novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. Which is used the style of shimile language. The data resource of this study is novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This data are collect by (1) read the novel repeatedly understanding the novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy , by the purpose ae to have the understanding clearly which is novel that had study, (2) write the sentences which have the style of shimile language which are match with teory of Gorys Keraf, and (4) put in the style of shimile language which had fomating into inventarritation data. Discovery of this study is the style of shimile language in this novel.

Abstract

This studyaimed to describe the ideology off igures concerning the way of life, responsibility, love, truth, and justice, the ideals of the struggle, resistance and strugglein the novel Hanum W Hashim Mustafa's work. The datain this study are sentences or quotations related to indicators of research contained in the novel Hanum W Hashim Mustafa's work. The data source of this research is the novel Hanum W Hashim Mustafa's work. The study's findings area way of life these leaders think of a better life to come and have agreat responsibility to both his brother and relatives. Ideology concerning their loveistight, the characters love each other, so that the figures unite to defend truth and justice and to fight and struggle for their rights as citizens of Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the types of speech acts courtesy clerk in serving consumers when buying and selling bertansaksi Bookstore Sari Orchids in Padang. (2) identify the principles of politeness used salesclerk in serving consumers based on linguistic politeness. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive because this study aimed to describe the data obtained from the field or informants. The data captured on the "linguistic politeness in Serving Buyers Clerk Bookstore Padang Sari Orchid". The research data is linguistic politeness in Serving Buyers Clerk Bookstore Sari Orchid Padang. Data were analyzed with data analysis techniques as follows: (1) identifying and classifying the speech acts used clerk ilokusi in serving consumers. (2) analyze the types of speech acts and politeness in speech acts saleswoman consumers. (3) menabulisasikan speech acts and politeness in.

Abstract

This article was written to (1) describing the form and used of greeting words in Melayu language based on lineage in Bangko kiri. (2) describing the form and used of greeting words in Melayu language based on marriage in Bangko Kiri. The data in this research consist of the idiom of language in sentence that followed by greeting words that’s belong there. The data has been collected by cakap method with pancing technique. The finding of this research is (1) the form and used of the greeting words based on patrilineal lineage, which are: there are sixteen form of greeting words that used for different ego. (2) Then there are twenty two the form of greeting words based on marriage line that has been use for different ego.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) the types of sentences that diujarkan by children aged four years and three months, and (2) sentence patterns children aged four years and three months. The theory used is the theory of (1) language acquisition, (2) the child, (3) acquisition of sentence and (4) the sentence pattern. This research is descriptive qualitative research method. This study used data types are derived from verbal utterances children aged four years and three months. Data obtained by using techniques of observation, recording, and interviews. Data obtained through the tape, and then classified by type of sentence, sentence patterns, and forms of utterance based on the purpose of the study, and then formulated into a conclusion.

Abstract

This article was written to (1) to describe any kind of sentencein terms of syntactic form sobtained bythe child at age 3;0-4;0, and (2) describe patterns of sentences in terms of syntactic function obtained by children at age 3;0-4;0. The data of this study is the sentence that speech children aged 3;0-4;0. The data source of this research his the speech of children aged 3;0-4;0. Data obtained using methods refer to and supported by observation and recording techniques. Data obtained transcribed into written language, identified, classified, and then made conclusions. The findings of this study are the types of sentences in terms of syntactic forms found as many as four types of sentences and sentence patterns found in terms of syntactic function as much as 23 sentence patterns.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to described of: (1) The critical reading ability, (2) The arguments writing ability, and (3) The relationships of the critical reading ability with the arguments writing ability the Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman. The type of this study was the corellative study by qualitative method. The population and sampling did by random sampling in 15 % from the population. According to the result of  the data analyze and discussion it could be concluded as. First, the critical reading ability students of  Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman was in the qualifying of more than enough (70,43). Second, the arguments writing ability students of Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman was in the qualifying of more than enogh (66). Third, there werw significant relationships between the criticalreading ability with the arguments writing ability the students   of Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman on the independence degree n-2 at the 95 % of the  significant stage.
