Abstract

This article discusses the correlation research between discussion text listening skills and discussion text writing skills for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. There are three objectives of this research. First, describe the skills of listening to discussion texts for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. Second, describe the writing skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping in writing discussion texts. Third, analyze the correlation of discussion text listening skills with discussion text writing skills for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used in this research is correlation. The population of this research is the VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping who are registered in the 2021/2022 academic year, as many as 305 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, namely 45 students. The data of this research are in the form of scores of discussion text listening skills test scores and discussion text writing skills test scores. The data were obtained through two types of tests, namely objective tests to measure discussion text listening skills and performance tests to measure students' discussion text writing skills. The results of this study were threefold. First, the skills of listening to discussion texts for class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikapings are in good qualification (B) with an average score of 77.67. Second, the discussion text writing skills of the VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping are in good qualification (B) with an average of 82.31. Third, there is a correlation between the skills of listening to discussion texts and the skills of writing discussion texts of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping with the test results proving that rcount is greater than rtable, namely 0,756 > 0,294.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Flipped Classroom. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa XI IPA 3 SMAN 6 Makassar Tahun Ajaran 2021-2022. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 64 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan uji kesetaraan. Pengumpulan data berpikir kritis menggunakan tes essai yang terintegrasi dengan tes hasil belajar siswa pada materi menulis cerpen. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat korelasi antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa. Adanya korelasi karena berpikir kritis dapat memberdayakan dan meningkatkan hasil belajar bahasa indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is as follows. First, describe the cultural value contained in the novel9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan. Second, describe the implications for language learning. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data in this study are words, phrases, and sentences in the novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan which relates to cultural values that are traced based on the speech or actions of figures that can be formulated as cultural value data. The data source in this study is the novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan published by publisher Gramedia in Jakarta in July 2013 which consists of 221 pages. The novel already has an ISBN and Copyright Act. As for the basis in establishing the object of research is the part that contains the cultural value of human relations with God, the cultural value of human relations with oneself, and the cultural value of human relations with others. Instruments in this research, namely library studies and record techniques. Data analysis is done, namely describing, classifying, analyzing data, and compiling reports. The results of this study are as follows. First, the cultural values in the novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan found three types of cultural values that each have several parts. The three types of cultural values are the cultural value of man's relationship with God, the cultural value of human relations with oneself, and the cultural value of human relations with others. Second, the cultural values in the novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns by Iwan Setyawan can be implications for language learning, namely the text of the high school class XII novel.
