Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of digital da'wah communication in enhancing sharia economic literacy among Muslim communities through the integration of Islamic values and digital media strategies. (2) Using a qualitative method with a digital communication ethnography approach, the study was conducted through observation of da'wah content on ten YouTube and Instagram accounts, as well as in-depth interviews with digital preachers, Islamic finance practitioners, and millennial Muslim audiences. (3) The findings reveal that digital da'wah communication not only conveys sharia economic information but also instills spiritual and moral values in economic behavior. Three main dimensions were identified: religious-normative (trust and justice values), educative-informative (understanding of sharia finance), and symbolic-interactive (use of visual media and religious narratives). This research produces a conceptual model, the Digital Islamic Da'wah Literacy Framework, which illustrates the contribution of digital da'wah in strengthening a sustainable and just Islamic economic ecosystem.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic educational institutions, especially Islamic boarding schools, has become a strategic issue in the development of Islamic financial inclusion. This study aims to synthesize empirical and conceptual evidence regarding the model, determinants, and impact of digital financial adoption in Islamic boarding schools through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Using the PRISMA 2020 guide and the SPIDER framework, 35 articles indexed by Scopus and other reputable journals published between 2010–2025 were analyzed thematically and descriptively. The results of the synthesis show that the digitization of pesantren is not only a process of technological adoption, but also a social, institutional, and spiritual transformation based on the values of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah. The conceptual model of Pathways to Cashless Ecosystem in Islamic Boarding Schools describes four stages of transformation, namely antecedents (readiness and initial determinants), adoption process (adoption and implementation), integration phase (integration and governance), and outcomes (sustainability and sharia compliance). Factors that determine success include digital infrastructure readiness, student financial literacy, visionary leadership, and strategic partnerships with sharia fintech providers. Financial digitalization in Islamic boarding schools has been proven to improve administrative efficiency, expand financial access, and strengthen transparency in the management of sharia-based social funds. Theoretically, this research contributes through the integration of technology adoption theories (TAM and UTAUT) with Islamic values and institutional ecosystem perspectives, resulting in a multi-level approach to Islamic financial inclusion. Practically, the results of this SLR are the basis for policy makers, pesantren managers, and sharia fintech providers in designing financial digitalization strategies that are inclusive, sustainable, and in accordance with maqāṣid al-sharī'ah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer protection in digital application-based gold buying and selling transactions from the perspective of sharia economic law. The rapid advancement of financial technology (fintech) has accelerated the adoption of digital gold trading platforms in Indonesia, making gold investment accessible to a broader segment of the population, including millennials and Generation Z. However, this convenience brings with it complex legal and sharia compliance challenges that have not been adequately addressed by existing regulatory frameworks. Issues such as the absence of physical handover (qabdh haqiqi), ambiguity in the legal status of digital gold balances, potential gharar (uncertainty) and riba al-nasi’ah in deferred transactions, and the lack of transparent akad (contract) information pose significant risks to consumers. This research employs a qualitative method with a normative juridical approach, examining primary legal sources including the Quran, hadith, classical fiqh literature, DSN-MUI fatwas, and applicable positive laws, supplemented by empirical data from documentation analysis and literature review of existing studies on digital gold platforms. The findings reveal three critical gaps: (1) al-tsubut (legal certainty) is undermined by unclear ownership status of digital gold balances; (2) ‘adl (justice) is compromised by unilateral contract clauses and opaque fee structures; and (3) shidq (transparency) is lacking due to insufficient akad disclosure and limited consumer financial literacy. This study recommends regulatory harmonization between OJK, Bappebti, and DSN-MUI, mandatory sharia certification for digital gold platforms, and structured consumer education programs as essential steps toward strengthening sharia-compliant consumer protection in Indonesia’s growing digital gold market.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) to analyze the productive zakat distribution model at LAZNAS Wahdah Inspirasi Zakat, and 2) to analyze the effectiveness of productive zakat distribution in improving the welfare of mustahik (zakat recipients). This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results indicate that: 1) the productive zakat distribution model at LAZNAS Wahdah Inspirasi Zakat comprises two programs: the micro-enterprise development program and the Gerobak Berkah (Blessed Cart) program. The micro-enterprise development program targets mustahik whose businesses are declining or have folded due to a lack of capital, whereas the Gerobak Berkah program is intended for mustahik who lack adequate business premises. Based on the application of management functions in the distribution process, both programs are operating effectively and clearly, thereby facilitating the growth of the mustahik's businesses. 2) The productive zakat distribution by LAZNAS Wahdah Inspirasi Zakat is considered effective in improving mustahik welfare, based on the effectiveness indicators proposed by Sutrisno. Following the receipt of productive zakat aid, mustahik experienced tangible improvements in their business operations, resulting in increased income.
