Abstract

This research is a class action research (Classroom Action Research) which aims to improve the learning outcomes of Civics through jigsaw type cooperative learning models in Class IX-3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanete Riaja Barru Regency. The subjects of this research were Class IX-3 students in odd semester 2019/2020 as many as 25 students. Data collection techniques used were the final Cycle I test, the final Cycle II test, and the observation sheet. The results obtained from the quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis are as follows: The average score of student learning outcomes after taking action in Cycle I is 68.97%. with an attendance rate of 99%, the courage of students working on the questions on the board is 35%. After continuing in Cycle II, the average score of student learning outcomes on the Pancasila and Citizenship Education subject matter was 77.27% with an attendance rate of 99.17%, the courage to answer questions on the board 43%. The foregoing indicates that an increase in learning outcomes for Pancasila Education and Citizenship for Class IX-3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanete Riaja Barru Regency after applying the jigsaw type cooperative learning model. The motivation of students in participating in the teaching and learning process increased, this was seen from the increase in the frequency of students who wanted to solve practice questions on the board, the seriousness of students in the use of instructional media, and student activity in each group work.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the application of the concept of Literacy Village in increasing the interest in reading the community in Lembang Lohe Village, Kajang District, Bulukumba Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study explain that the application of the concept of Literacy Village 1) Literacy activities through counseling on the importance of education, recruitment and upgreading of facilitators, implementing the teaching process of the calistung method based on local wisdom, life skills assistance, routine activity programs for targeted communities and creating a village reading corner are well implemented, 2) 12 competent Facilitators who assist the community in eradicating illiteracy, 3) Catalysts as agents of change, 4) Provision of a Village Incubator, namely a reading corner with a cultural program for at least 5 minutes of reading and forming a smart house with the program 1 hamlet 1 smart house, 5 ) The application of teaching the Calistung method to the community was carried out using the pretest and post-test method, the results of the pretest of 60 selected learning citizens were illiterate, so with the method of facilitating literacy volunteer team facilitators for 2 times a week and continued with family implementing tutors, while the results l Post-test has increased success in recognizing letters, basic reading and arithmetic by up to 85%.
