Abstract

Each hospital has a way of waste water treatment and waste water treatment technologies are different. This study aims to determine the waste water treatment in Pelamonia Hospital and Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo hospital in Makassar on 2016. Type of research used in this study was observational descriptive approach. Samples in this research of the liquid waste was on Inlet and Outlet hospital. The results showed that in RS. Pelamonia obtained parameters were not qualified at a average BOD at the point of inlet 261.45 mg/L, COD at the inlet point of 355.7 mg/L and the outlet point 121.1 mg/L. Whereas in Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo hospital obtained parameters were not qualified at an average BOD at the point of inlet 263.94 mg/L, at the outlet point of 139.45 mg / L, COD at the inlet point of 563 mg/L, and the outlet point of 350.5 mg/L.The efficiency of waste water treatment of Pelamonia hospital including highly efficient category while the efficiency of waste water treatment of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo hospital categorized fairly efficient. Preferably at a subsequent researchers examined other factors that affect the efficiency of waste water treatment.

Abstract

Each wastewater treatment plant has efficiency in each treatment, knowing the efficiency of wastewater treatment can be determined whether each stage or wastewater treatment unit of each hospital as required or not. This research is intended to compare the efficiency of wastewater treatment of Pelamonia Hospital Makassar and Syekh Yusuf Hospital Gowa on 2017. Type of research used in this research is observasional with descriptive approach. The sample in this research is liquid waste in the Inlet and Outlet hospital. The results showed in RS. Pelamonia produces parameters that do not meet the average BOD at the inlet point 337.02 mg / L, COD at the inlet point 480 mg / L and outlet point BOD 179.28 mg / L, COD at the outlet point 260mg / lakang in RSUD Syekh Yusuf was given an unqualified parameter of average BOD at the inlet point of 165.66 mg / L, at the outlet point 97.11 mg / L, COD at the inlet point 280 mg / L, and at the outlet point 220 mg / L. Efficiency of RS wastewater treatment. Pelamonia showed the average IPAL able to reduce the BOD content by 46.84% efficient enough, COD 45.84% efficient enough and the TSS content of 60.81% efficient. While efficiency of waste water treatment of RSUD Syekh Yusuf showed that average WWTP can reduce BOD content by 41,33% efficient enough, COD content 21,42% less efficient and TSS content 80% efficient. We recommend that researchers investigate other factors that affect the efficiency of wastewater treatment.

Abstract

The existing problem at Hotel Swiss-Bel Panakukkang is that the hotel does not have Liquid Waste Disposal Permit (IPLC), has not recorded daily wastewater pH, has not recorded daily wastewater discharge, has not checked periodic wastewater quality parameter standard 1 ) Within 1 (one) month, has not submitted daily waste water discharge report, daily pH and wastewater parameters at least once in 3 (three) months to BLHD Makassar with copies of BLHD South Sulawesi Province. This study aims to determine the processing and quality of liquid waste Swiss Hotel-Bell Panakukkang Makassar Year 2017 viewed from the parameters of pH, BOD, COD, TSS and ammonia. The type of this research is observasional with descriptive approach. The results showed that there are still parameters that exceed the quality standard because it is not in accordance with the Minister of Environment Regulation No. 5 of 2014 on the Standard of Liquid Waste for Hospitality Activities. On average inlet pH 6.8 and average outlet pH level of 6.15. In the mean inlet BOD content of 79.82 mg / L and outlets of 138.78 mg / L. On average inlet COD 120 mg / L and outlet 200 mg / L. In the average inlet TSS content of 45.5 mg / L and outlet of 88 mg / L. In the average inlet and outlet for ammonia <0.01 mg / L. Wastewater treatment is done with five times phase: preliminary treatment, primary treatment, secondary treatment, tertiary treatment and ultimate disposal. It is suggested to the hotel to supervise the operation of WWTP so that the performance of WWTP is more optimal in reducing the pollution material produced.

Abstract

The A research on the analysis of heavy metal content timbale (Pb) and mercury (Hg) in hair dye circulating in the city of Makassar. This study head to analyze quantitatively the levels of timbale (Pb) and mercury (Hg) in cosmetic hair dye is a metal that is not allowed to use in cosmetic preparation. While the 3 samples analyzed timbale heavy metal content (Pb) and mercury (Hg) by the methode of atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) at a wavelength of 283,3 nm for lead, mercury and to 253,6 nm. Samples in destruction then heated over a water bath. Cooled, after which it’s volume at both end’s meet, then filtered using whatman paper and the filrate is collected. After passing through the destruction proses, the final volume of the sample at both ends meet by adding distilled water. The result of quantitative analysis showed that all samples test negative or does not contain metal timbale (Pb) and mercury (Hg). As know heavy metal can cause interference effect on human health depending on the heavy metals are bound in the body as well as the magnitude of the expose dose.

Abstract

All activities are carried out essentially in need of human energy. The availability of energy including electricity is a very important element, as well as the need to support sustainable national development. Related problems of energy, an area that has not been much teraliri power is the coastal region. Indonesia is an archipelago geographically with two thirds of the vast ocean bigger than the Mainland. The existence of the beach at nearly every island in Indonesia (± 81,000 km) which made Indonesia as the country with the second longest coastline in the world. At UU RI No. 27 Year 2007 about management of the coastal areas and small islands, in law is intended regarding planning, utilisation, supervision, and control of the Natural Resources of coastal and small islands. People who live in the island, it is very far from the power plant, owned by PLN. Data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of INDONESIA declared Indonesia has 17,504 Islands, of which there are 6000 island inhabited community. With the new alternative energy, expected to coastal communities can support the Nawa. Electrical energy derived from shells (Clamshells) is able to be used as alternative energy needs, overcome electrical get hooked for coastal communities. Coastal areas are likely to be met by waste shells, shells even just be discarded waste not utilized by the community around the beach and just left. Shells which is a compound of CaCO3 can be extracted through methods of electrolysis is reacted with a compound with HCl in order that formed the compound CaCl2. The compound result of the reaction of then in electrolysis to get the compound Ca. Reactions that happen to produce ions that can produce electricity with Electrodes. From the results of this research are able to create alternative energy, while reducing the pollution of waste shells on the coast are able to produce a sufficient amount of energy and marine resources to support economic development and the welfare of fishermen coastal communities.
