Abstract

Online learning is a decision taken by the government to be able to minimize the transmission of COVID-19, so that the learning process that is usually done directly has to be turned into an online learning process. The problems experienced by students during online learning are, students have difficulty understanding the material provided by the teacher, internet access is not good, assignments from each subject are piled up and students easily feel bored because learning is done online so they have to learn independently at home. at home is different from the learning process that is carried out directly in the classroom. Therefore, every teacher is required to be able to use information technology well so as to be able to provide interesting, creative and maximum learning so that it can attract students' interest in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of online learning on the interest in learning of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Bakam. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method, this study involved 63 students from three classes, namely class XI MIPA, XI IPS 1 and XI IPS 2, with data collection techniques using a questionnaire made in google form as many as fifteen statements. The results of this study indicate that online learning has an unfavorable impact on students' interest in learning, this is evidenced by the percentage value of the student learning interest questionnaire which shows the highest score of 39.7% which is in the poor category. Thus, it can be concluded that online learning has a negative impact on students' interest in learning. Keywords: Online learning, Interest in Learning, Covid-19

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the most preferred learning media from the perspective of high school students in online learning. Many students experience a decrease in interest in learning due to a lack of understanding of the material presented. So the researchers here are trying to explore the most effective learning media for a teacher from the perspective of students in delivering subject matter that is carried out online so that students easily understand the material presented. The method that the researcher took was an online-based field research with a quantitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of a questionnaire given to class XI IPS 3 MAN Pekalongan in June 2021. The results showed that there were two learning media used by teachers in delivering material, namely teaching materials. in the form of pdf or ppt and video tutorials. The fact shows that students of class XI IPS 3 at MAN Pekalongan prefer learning media in the form of teacher explanation videos uploaded on YouTube. Their reason is because the learning videos made by the teachers themselves are easier to understand in terms of language than learning videos from other people. And if there is language or material that is not understood from the explanation video, it is easier for students to ask the teacher. Therefore, it is very effective media in the form of learning videos carried out by the teacher himself, which makes it easier for students to digest the material. So that students' interest in participating in online learning activities will increase. It is hoped that this research can be a reference for teachers in using effective learning media in online learning. Keywords: online learning media, teacher effectiveness, learning videos

Abstract

One thing that cannot be separated from education is learning. One of the competencies that are expected to be achieved in the learning process is the ability to solve mathematical problems. However, in reality many students have low mathematical problem solving abilities. Students memorize more often than understand mathematical concepts. To overcome this problem, a learning innovation is needed, such as Discovery Learning in collaboration with an ethnomathematical approach. The purpose of this study is to find out how ethnomathematics-based Discovery Learning can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The research method used is a qualitative method with a Library Research approach. The researcher uses Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, namely, by summarizing, presenting data, and providing conclusions. Through this study, it was found that ethnomathematics-based Discovery Learning was deemed able to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This is supported by the relationship between the stages of learning using ethnomathematics-based Discovery Learning with indicators of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The application of this learning model will help students build knowledge through experience, so that the knowledge that has been obtained by students can be embedded in long-term memory. Keywords: Discovery Learning; Ethnomathematics; Mathematics problem solving ability

Abstract

Intuitive thinking is a non-analytic cognitive process, in which the emergence of ideas is spontaneous and emerges suddenly. In learning mathematics, intuitive thinking is sometimes needed as a thinking bridge in an effort to solve a problem. This research is a descriptive qualitative study that aims to analyze how students involve their intuitive thinking skills in solving percentage problems and to assess their difficulties encountered in that process. The collecting data was employed by giving a test with three problem solving questions followed by a depth interview. This study involved 25 students of grade 5 SD IBA Palembang with heterogeeous cognitive performance; low, middle and high. The data then analyzed qualitatively. The results reveal that intuitive thinking, basically, could support students to deal with the percentage problems. All the prior knowledge and experiences lead them to develop their ability to solve the given contextual problems in varied ways, including the use of percentage bar and percentage line-like model. Keywords: Intuitive thinking, percentage, mathematical problem solving
