Abstract

Belu Regency is geographically bordered directly by the state of Timor Leste, so that it has the potential as an entry point for disease transmission. The case of HIV-AIDS in Belu Regency ranks second highest in NTT Province. Reproductive health education needs to be given to the community early on. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of poster and leaflet media in reproductive health counseling to increase public knowledge. The target group of counseling in this study were children, adolescents and parents in Fohoeka Village. Fohoeka Village is one of the villages in Belu Regency which borders directly with the State of Timor Leste. The method used is a pre-experimental research design with one-group pretest posttest. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling of 180 respondents (children, adolescents and parents of 60 people each). Data were analyzed using paired-sample T-test. The results of this study indicate that the use of leaflet and poster media in reproductive health education is effective in increasing knowledge in children, adolescents and parents with a significance value (ρ)0,00<(α)0,05 and (ρ)0,02<(α)0,05. Reproductive health education with the lecture method is more effective by adding media aids such as posters, leaflets and so on. Media-based health education is very effective to be recommended in every disease prevention and management program in the community. Keywords: Media, Reproductive Health Education, Community.

Abstract

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is called coronary arterial disease which is one of the most cardiovascular problems around the world. Thedisease causes high mortality rates in both developed and developing country including Indonesia. Patients who are suffering from ACS should have bed rest and activity limitation. The combination of patophisiology process of ACS and activity limitation would decrease the fungtional capacity of the patients’ and influence the self care ability and activity of daily living (ADL). Therefore, the ACS patients require inpatient physical exercise. The aim of the study:To evaluate the affect of physical exercixe (inpatient) to Acitivity of Daily Living of ACS patients in RGHProf. Dr. W. Z. Johannes Kupang. The method of the research is pre-experimental with one group pre-test – posttest design and the sampling technique is concecutive sampling which cultivated to 29 respondents. The statistical test that cultivated to test the research hypothesis is Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The result of the test showed that there was significant affect of physical exercixe (inpatient) to Acitivity of Daily Living of ACS patients in RGH Prof. Dr. W. Z. Johannes Kupang with p value = 0,000 which this value <α 0.05. Recommendation: the hospital could cultivatethe physical exercixe (inpatient) in the process of care for ACS patients. Abstract

Malaria is a contagious disease that is very dominant in the tropics and subtropics and can cause the death of more than millions of people each year. Nationally, NTT Province is the third highest province of malaria morbidity after Papua and West Papua. Various efforts have been made by the government to reduce morbidity and mortality due to malaria, one of which is distribution of indexed bed nets, but malaria morbidity rates are still quite high. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the behavior behavior of insecticide-treated bed nets and the incidence of malaria in the village of Rindi in the Working Area of Tanaraing Health Center, East Sumba Regency. The design in this study is a correlational study with a cross sectional approach and the sampling used is probability sampling with a sample of 168 respondents. The results showed that 122 (73%) respondents behaved positively and 46 (37%) respondents behaved negatively about the use of insecticide-treated bed nets. The multivariate test results with logistic regression with the forward method obtained p value 0.002 <0.005 there is a relationship between the behavior of mosquito nets using malaria incidence with a probability level of 81% which means that someone who has negative knowledge, attitudes and behavior will suffer malaria as much as 81%. Efforts to eradicate and prevent malaria are not only done by the use of insecticidetreated bed nets but can be done by manipulating the environment, namely the use of wire mesh at home and the use of repellent. Health workers are expected to improve health promotion about malaria and make home visits. It is also hoped that local village officials will increase the use of resources owned by the village to support the malaria elimination program.
