Abstract

This research is about Jesus' multicultural mission to Canaanite women based on Matthew 15:21-28. This study examines the nature and principles of the task carried out by Jesus to the Canaanite women. Interestingly, the church often considers Jesus' mission exclusively for the Jews. However, this case shows that the mission was opened to non-Jewish nations. By using qualitative research methods, this study obtained several conclusions. First, based on the description of the interpretation of Matthew 15:21-28 and taking into account the context and background of the Canaanite woman, it is clear that Jesus' ministry or mission to Canaanite women is clear is a multicultural mission. Second, Jesus' ministry to Canaanite women (Matt. 15:21-28) qualifies as a multicultural mission because it has fulfilled all theologies that are part of multicultural theology, such as relational, social, operational, moral, and transformational theology. Third, Jesus' ministry to the Canaanite woman (Matt. 15:21-28) fulfills every aspect of the Christocentric dimension in the construction of multicultural theology.

Abstract

This study aims to understand John 14:1-14 by using the social-scientific exegetical method. The research prioritizes a historical review and explanation of historical writings on the Way and the Truth and Life from the Old Testament (OT) to New Testament (NT) times. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life in the face of today's postmodern relativism. The results of the study conclude that "Jesus is life (eternal)" and "Jesus is the truth," where the Church and the people of Jesus (the Church) can dialogue and apply the relative truth in love, justice, and social liberation.

Abstract

Technological developments in the 21st century have made enormous changes in modern human civilization today. Internet technology has changed every human life using innovative technology in the palm. In the context of education, especially this visualization learning strategy, this is the impact of renewable learning strategies that help the world of education dashed, measurably and easily accessible anytime and anywhere. Research on the impact of learning strategies through visualization in Christian education in the era of Society 5.0 shows that the challenge of using innovative technology is one of the benefits both educators and students face to innovate in teaching. The most crucial question in education today is the impact of implementing effective visual learning strategies for students in the era of Society 5.0. The result is that the effectiveness of Christian religious education learning strategies through visualization can be measured by the method's ability to enable the target students to achieve the desired learning outcomes of instruction.

Abstract

This study examines the perceptions and experiences of the elderly in providing online Christian religious education in churches as a result of social restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research subjects were the elderly at the Santapan Rohani Indonesia Church (GSRI) Jakarta. The method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data analysis used the technique proposed by Clark Moustakas, namely the synthesis and essence of meaning. The study results show that the elderly can enjoy online Christian religious education programs at the church even though they experience several challenges and limitations. Christian religious education activities online at the church can also meet the spiritual needs of the elderly. But to take part in such online activities requires extraordinary focus and sincerity. The online activities also cannot provide elements of face-to-face activities that they yearn for, so the elderly hope that the situation will improve soon and quickly return to face-to-face church activities.

Abstract

During a pandemic, the body's immune system is vital because it is the body's immune system that plays a role in fighting viruses and helping the body recover. The heart and mind are very influential on the body's immune system. Proverbs 17:22 records that the human heart and mind are persuasive. Based on this background, the purpose of this paper is to prove the truth of Proverbs 17:22 about a happy heart as a scientifically proven medicine that can affect the body's immune system. Then, Proverbs 17:22 can be implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is a qualitative method whose results are explained narratively with data collection techniques through literature study. The biblical text used as the basis will be interpreted using the hermeneutic approach. The results obtained from this study are that the text of Proverbs 17:22 can be scientifically proven. A happy heart and a good state of mind will increase the body's immune system to become the body's natural medicine. Vice versa, a heart filled with sadness and stress will trigger a weakening of the immune system to be vulnerable to disease. Thus the text of Proverbs 17:22 can be implemented or applied during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The Theological Department of Star's Lub Theological College (SLTC) has organized entrepreneurship education. One of the goals is to equip students to develop church entrepreneurship if they become pastors in the future. This study aims to determine the extent to which entrepreneurship education can provide students with the ability to build financial independence as part of church entrepreneurship. The research was conducted in two stages by combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The first stage examines the entrepreneurial abilities of 12 final-semester students who have completed entrepreneurship education, focusing on knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial character. The method used is quantitative. The second stage uses a qualitative approach by examining the entrepreneurship education program organized by the Theological Department. The informants involved were the Chairperson of SLTC, the Deputy Head of Academic Affairs of SLTC, and lecturers in entrepreneurship courses. The results showed that the final semester students of SLTC did not yet have adequate abilities to develop the church's financial independence in the future. Entrepreneurship education is limited in curriculum, learning strategies, lecturers who support courses, and the entrepreneurial atmosphere.
