Abstract

The design for the pattern of Batik Tuban with Fractal visual idea was motivated by the availability of a chance to develop a new design that focuses on the visual processing of Fractals and Batik Tuban motif itself. The urge that generates this idea was taken not only because of the phenomena that Fractals are currently being explored, but also based on the unique characteristics of visual Fractals itself that can produce new various and diverse motifs. Visual Fractals are acquired from a software called "Ultra Fractal" which is then processed to be combined with Batik Tuban motif. This designing process produces a new pattern that associated with the typical motifs of the past towards today's textile products that is manufactured through digital processing techniques. The results of this design development can be concluded as: (1) From the visual Fractal idea, this design produces nine designs employing the original Batik Tuban motif as the main pattern which are classified into nine, they are three geometric designs, three flora designs and three fauna designs. (2) Three of the nine designs have been transformed into blouse fashion products using Japanese cotton which are polished by applying Batik Tulis techniques and dabbing them in the coloring process.

Data obtained through in- depth interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study explain the existence of traits and behaviors that are born from the leader's personality and those born from culture. The main role of the leader is to protect the people and nature which is done through the tradition of planting corn. The results of the study show that the physiological impact is meeting basic needs and psychology, namely independence and self-esteem of followers. The method used is descriptive qualitative by using the collection of library sources that are loaded through google scholar in the form of journalsand books as well as the official website of the Tridarma.or.id association whose sources can be accounted for. The result of this research is that tridharma is a teaching that combines the three teachings of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism which was pioneered by Lin Chao En during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). The three teachings were brought by the Chinese ethnicity when trading in Indonesia. In its development, the Tridharma association developed in 1920 in Jakarta which was pioneered by Kwee Tek Hoay who had aspirations to protect Chinese religion and culture from the onslaught of western missionaryism. Abstract

This study aims to: (1) identify the reasons behind the tradition of migration among Minangkabau women in Kemiri Muka Market, Beji, Depok City, West Java Province; and (2) examine the dynamics of the matrilineal system experienced by Minangkabau women traders in Kemiri Muka Market, Beji, Depok City, West Java Province, during migration. This research employs a qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that: (1) the push factors driving Minangkabau women to migrate are economic and educational needs, while the pull factors include easier access to education, better income and employment opportunities, and encouragement from family members—such as siblings or husbands—who had migrated earlier. (2) The dynamics of the matrilineal system in relation to the preservation, safeguarding, and management of ancestral property change when Minangkabau women migrate. After migration, the status of traditional assets—such as the rumah gadang (traditional house), fields, and rice paddies—undergoes transformation. The rumah gadang, which historically served not only as a physical residence but also as a cultural symbol, has shifted in function and is now often inhabited by sons, even though it is traditionally reserved for daughters. Likewise, fields and plantations are now managed by male descendants, and rice paddies are handled solely by family members who remain in the village. When Minangkabau women choose to migrate, they no longer fulfill their traditional role as daughters in preserving, safeguarding, and managing ancestral property.
