Jurnal Komunikasi Pendidikan is in the development of communication science, culture and media. The change of society is dynamically proportional to the growth of the increasingly diverse fields of communication science. The Jurnal Komunikasi Pendidikan review lies in two important elements of scientific study: theory and practice. Theories that have been found by the founding fathers of communication science is continue to grow and develop. This is what will be the first study in the journal of communication science. The second study on the elements of scientific practice or practitioners in the field of communication science is the development of science in the field of public relations, advertising, broadcasting, and journalists.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the research subjects have practiced metacognitive strategies. The method used is qualitative. Eighteen (18) questions are provided, answers to individual questions are written on the guided question sheet in 2 hours - thirty minutes to get the required response. The data proves that planning, monitoring and evaluation is practiced i.e. totaling 100% checks the next day's schedule; (95%) checking what courses to attend; hence they review the previous and upcoming meeting materials. For the next meeting they write notes for questions or to confirm what they don't really understand to the teacher. Likewise, they used process and productive monitoring for 92.5% of what they did before class. Also, the data shows that they evaluate; 95% evaluated after class.

Abstract

During the covid-19 pandemic, the learning process was carried out online, including at the Islamic University of Majapahit. But there are many obstacles in the implementation of online learning, such as network problems and decreased interest in learning by students. This is because learning through LMS occurs monotonously. In order for online learning to continue to be interesting, a learning innovation is needed, namely the use of quizizz aplication. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of quizizz application as an alternative media of attractive and fun assessment, especially in educational psychology courses in the pandemic covid-19 and can improve understanding of educational psychology materials. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The research data was obtained through observation, interviews, and the results of the quiz assessments on the quizizz application. The results showed that the use of the quizizz application made learning more fun, increased student enthusiasm and motivation to learn and helped students understand educational psychology material.

Abstract

Students' lack of a disaster response mindset is both a problem and a challenge that must be addressed in science education. Based on the MIKiR approach, which is linked with natural disaster prevention, the goal of this study is to define the features of science Subject-Specific Pedagogy. This study involves both research and development (R&D). The research procedure follows the Borg & Gall development model, which involves five main steps: (1) analyzing the product to be developed; (2) developing the initial product; (3) expert validation and revision; (4) small-scale field testing and revisions; and (5) large-scale field testing and final products. A validation sheet with a Likert scale in the form of a checklist serves as the research instrument. According to the study's findings, the quality of the developed Subject-Specific Pedagogy is listed in the good category, with an optimum proportion of 84.33 percent. The findings of the study on product quality could be used as one of the science learning aids in SMP/MTs class IX semester 2.

Abstract

The policy of temporarily closing educational institutions to hold the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia impacts the learning process being replaced by a learning system using online media application features. Implementation of the distance learning system (PJJ) has various obstacles, including infrastructure, human resources, and the learning process. This study examines communication patterns in the PJJ process. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with a population of 13,539 students of the Bandung Islamic University in 2021; 389 people are sampled using the Slovin formula. The study results show that 1) The obstacles of PJJ include infrastructure, system, and lecture climate problems. 2) The solution that must be done in terms of infrastructure is that the students need to prepare backup providers, while in terms of materials, students need to look for additional references from other sources. 3) dependence on internet access can affect financially, which can be burdensome for educators and students. 4) The combination of offline and online learning is considered efficient. However, face-to-face learning is more desirable 5) From a media perspective, Zoom Meeting is a media that is often used. The Moodle e-learning lecture system is widely used, including Google Meet, Google Classroom, and Google Drive. 6) The material in the PJJ process is considered adequate. 7) Online multiple-choice questions in quiz systems dominate the exam system, google forms, and even essay types or a take-home exam. However, there are still a few offline projects and exams.

Abstract

This study was conducted to prove the practicality of the conceptual foundation of language anxiety observed in an English classroom. It aimed to explore the types of anxiety students experience when doing their speaking activities. Besides, it sought to explore which things cause students to feel the most anxious about speaking English. It was conducted using a qualitative phenomenological approach to describe the lived experiences of the students. The subject of research was students at a private vocational senior high school in North Minahasa, North Sulawesi. The samples consisting of five respondents were taken using a purposeful snowball sampling technique and some private interviews were conducted to take the data. The data were analyzed using three steps: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the students experienced the fear of being laughed at by their peers when making mistakes, the fear of not making enough preparation to speak, the fear of not knowing words to use, the fear of lacking understanding of lessons explained in English, and the fear of being scolded by an English teacher due to mispronunciation. Finally, most of what causes them to experience language anxiety have to do with the fear of negative evaluation from other people.
