Abstract

The lontar manuscripts are written using Balinese script, the contents in the lontar manuscripts are various such as literature in the form of satua, geguritan, babad, usada, bebantenan, asta kosala kosali and others. Balinese literature written on lontar is one of the cultural heritages that is still being inherited today. From the findings, most of them are in an unkempt condition, this is due to the lack of public knowledge in caring for their lontar manuscripts. In general, the lontar manuscripts found in the community can be classified in the form of speech, kanda, wariga and usada, geguritan, weda, babad, kakawin texts in the form of lontar and other lontars which have their own peculiarities. From the results of the mapping carried out by Balinese Language Instructors from 2016, 2017, 2018, there were 25,106 Cakep Lontar spreads in 9 (nine) districts / cities in Bali. Meanwhile, the people who have the most lontar collections are in Gianyar Regency, while the smallest is in Jembrana Regency. This data shows that the existence of lontar manuscripts in the community is still very much found, even though some of the owners do not fully understand the contents of the lontar in their possession. With the existence of Balinese language instructors, it is hoped that the community will have more knowledge about lontar manuscripts and the growing awareness of the Balinese people about the importance of the existence of lontar manuscripts.

Abstract

Buduh Ngelawang's short story collection is one of the literary works that was born from the hands of a teacher named IBW. Widiasa Keniten. Apart from being a teacher, he is also active in writing literary works in both Balinese and Indonesian. His works should be appreciated and given comments in order to add to the repertoire of literary criticism in the field of modern Balinese literature itself. In Buduh Ngelawang's short story collection, the author builds a new world in modern Balinese literature that has never been done before. The author offers a new model in structuring the modern Balinese literary form, namely the surreal form. On this occasion, Buduh Ngelawang's short story collection will be analyzed based on Tzevetan Todorov's narratological structure theory. In the narratological analysis, the semantics (in absensia) aspect will be discussed. The semantic aspect relates to the involvement of denotative meaning and connotative meaning as a way to express meaning.

Abstract

Hindus considered Bhatara Kumara in Bali as a protector or guardian deity for newborn children. Offering and worshiping Bhatara Kumara is very important to do every day to protect or give children gifts. However, in Tutur Kumara Tatwa, Bhatara Kumara teachings are not only for children but for all people. The teachings conveyed are a form of self-control in this life. The teaching or education in Tutur Kumara Tatwa certainly has implications for human life, especially in Bali. Children's education is essential to do from an early age to develop good character. Good character is not only for children but also applies to all human beings. According to Tutur Kumara Tatwa, character education from Bhatara Siwa to Bhatara Kumara originated from a field where Bhatara Kumara was grazing called Argakuruksana. Bhatara Kumara felt like life in solitude. During his life as a shepherd, he had experienced many ups and downs. It is what can be learned as teaching or values in life that can affect human life. Bhatara Kumara was blessed or awarded by Bhatara Shiva to stay young, achieving eternal happiness. Bhatara Kumara is represented as the god of a baby. It means that babies should have received character education from their parents. Bhatara Kumara's role in human life, especially for Bali's Hindu community, is seen as the God of children from birth to Telung Oton's age (630 days). Bhatara Kumara is placed in Pelangkiran and is believed to be the child's protector or guardian

Abstract

Hinduism is a religion that has a lot of literature or literary works which are fundamentally a form of text with values that can be used as a guide for life for its people. Thus, the various Hindu centers, which are scattered with different variants, have one distinctive feature as a form of manuscript that tells humans in order to become better. One of them is the Adi Parwa book which contains a lot of the concept of Hindu Education as a whole. The studies conducted tend to analyze the Adi Parwa Book as an independent manuscript without separate supporting parts and narratives. A fact shows that Adi Parwa was built not with a single homogeneous plot, but with fragments and sequences that are related and unrelated to the main narrative. Thus it can be said that Adi Parwa is a collection of long narratives with many episodes that tell about different objects and subjects, with a more specific structural link between teachers and students. So Adi Parwa is more precisely a manuscript with many narratives, plots, characterizations, objects as the center, the focus of the story, and stands with many sacred mandates in it. This tends to be forgotten. Viewing Adi Parwa's study as an independent book with a single plot is a mistake. Because Adi Parwa tells many things in many different plots, and ends with different accuracy. If the study is only carried out by looking at Adi Parwa as a complete narrative with one plot, then we will not find any values and mandates.
