Abstract

The biggest challenge facing by Indonesia today as the impact of Globalization is the challenge that comes from the economic sector, one possible cause is the imbalance of population growth which then led to unemployment and poverty. The unemployment rate in Indonesia reached 7.03 million in 2016 and will likely continue to increase if no action is taken to overcome various parties in Indonesia. This occurs when the Global Competitiveness Rep ort 2016 published by the World Economic Forum states that Indonesia is ranked 37 of 138 countries,it can be interpreted Indonesia has a better competition than the countries with fairly advanced economy such as Portugal and Spain. This indicates that there has been no solid match between education, technology, the labor market and the active role of various parties such as the government and society. Method used in this paper is a qualitative method that is expected to provide input and suggestions in order to improve Indonesia's ability to resolve the challenges of globalization, especially in the economic field. Based on the results of research and data processing can be concluded that by increasing the role of government and various elements of society through the application of triple helix theory which is realized in the embodiment Teknopolishit will be able to reduce unemployment and improve Indonesia's competitiveness to facing the globalization.

Abstract

Land is a fixed supply, while demand continues to increase as the dynamics of the urban population. This condition has implications for land-use change toward a more profitable activity economically. It occurs in almost all cities, including the Minangkabau community with communal land system. Globalization and the capitalization of the land led to changes in socio-economic and individualization of land ownership resulting in the erosion of customary rights of the village. It is necessary to find a solution for the utilization of communal land economically viable yet maintain the existing socio-cultural values. One way is to understand the patterns of land use changes that occur along with the factors that play a role in it. Areas susceptible to changes in land use are located at the nodes and links, especially in cities with high economic growth, one of which the city of Padang Panjang are home to study. The analysis showed that the process of individualization of land leads to changes in land use. High economic pressures make customary land is fragmented and changing land use. This process is the result of a decrease in land value due to factors bio-physical and socio-economic fields.

Abstract

Batang Kapas District is a developing area in Pesisir Selatan Regency which requires reliable water supply system. Currently, the district has a level of water supply system of only 15.74% in which some of the facilities are broken due to 2009 earthquake. According to MDG’s, the district must develop pipeline system of water supply. The development is carried out for Nagari IV Koto Mudiak dan Nagari IV Koto Hilie. Design period is for 17 years (2013-2030) to achieve a service level of 34 %. The target capacity is 16 l/det, using Batang Tuik river as the water source. The water supply system includes channel intake, transmission pipe, water treatment plant (WTP), distribution reservoar, and distribution pipe. Transmission pipe is GIP DN 150 mm (333,75 m). WTP includes Pra-sedimentation, rapid sand filter, and disinfection. Distribution system uses gravitational branch pattern. Distribution pipe includes GIP DN 300 mm (1.329,2 m), DN 250 mm (5.409,3 m), DN 150 mm (3.302,7 m), PVC DN 50 mm (2.387 m), and reservoar with capacity of 277 m3.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to estimate the demand response ofmain food (rice, meat, egg, and milk) to population increasein West Sumatera. To achieve this objective, we use multiple regression analysis using secondary data of West Sumatera from 2002 to 2013. In this case we use the product price, total population, and per kapita income asindependent variabels; and food demand as dependent variabel. The result shows that only total population significantly influence the demandon rice, meat, eggs, and milk, with coefficient of response8% for rice; 2.95% for meat; 4.37% for eggs, and14.03% for milk. These numbers shows that the demand on food is very elastic to the increase of total population. It means that the 1% increase on total population, would increase about 8% demand on rice; about 2.95% demand on meat; 4.37% demand on eggs, and 14.03% demand on milk.
