Abstract

Provision of biochar as a to soil make better either directly or formulated beforehand with other materials such as with a combination of NPK fertilizers is expected to improve soil physical properties. This study aims to determine the effect of biochar application and NPK either single factor or interaction to changes in soil physical properties, as well as the growth and yield of potatoes. Research using randomized block design (RAK), consists of two factors, namely biochar and NPK. Factors biochar consists of four levels, namely; (1) B0 = Biochar doses of 0 tons ha-1, (2) B1 = Biochar dose of 15 ton ha-1, (3) B2 = Biochar dose of 30 tons ha-1, and (4) B3 = Biochar dose of 45 tons ha-1, while NPK consists of three levels, namely; (1) P0 = NPK doses of 0 kg ha-1, (2) P1 = NPK fertilizer dose of 400 kg ha-1, and (3) P2 = NPK fertilizer dose of 800 kg ha-1. Biochar and NPK fertilizers by the interaction of very significant effect on heavy volume, porosity, stability index aggregated, drainage pore fast, pore slow drainage and pore water available soil, plant height ages of 30 and 45 days after planting, the number of tubers per hill, tuber weight per clump, and weight of tuber per plot. The highest value of potato tuber weight per plot found in biochar dose of 30 tons ha-1 with NPK fertilizer dose of 400 kg ha-1 with a yield of potatoes to a maximum of 16.33 kg plot-1. Keywords: biochar, NPK, potato, soil physical properties

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of salinity on growth and production of some varieties of rice as well as real whether the interaction of both factors. This research used a randomized block design (RBD) factorial design with three replications. The first factor consists of 5 levels: varieties IR-64, Ciherang, Inpari 11 IRBB-27 and Inpara. The second factor consists of three levels: salinity levels of 0 ppm/l (control), 2000 ppm/l and 4000 ppm/l. This research was conducted at the experimental field of Agriculture Faculty on Teuku Umar University from January 22 to 28 June 2015. The results showed that the salinity gave significant effect on the number of grains per panicle. Significant number of panicle, grain weight per panicle and production per hectare and not influenced on other treatments. Varieties gave significant effect on plant height and number of tillers age on 30 day after plant, age 45 day after plant, leaf length, number of productive panicles, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, percentage of empty grain, the percentage of pithy grain, grain weight per panicle and yield per hectare. Significant effect on plant height age 45 day after plant, age 15 day after plantntiller number and weight of 100 grains and not influenced on other treatments. There is a very real interaction between salinity and varieties of the grain hollow percentage, percentage pithy grain, grain weight per panicle and yield per hectare, significantly affected the number of grains per panicle and no significant effect on other variables. Keywords: marginal land, salinity, tidal land, varieties

Abstract

This research to know influence of some and concentration hormonal growth organic to the growth cutting of peppercorn real and whet her there is  interaction both of factor.  This research have been executed by in Garden Agriculture Faculity of Teuku  Umar University Meulaboh,  Aceh Barat  Started 14 August up to 27 October 2015. This research to used is a randomized  blokc desigh (RBD) with  3 x 4 and  3 with  there replications. The first factor consist of some hormonal growth organic of 3 level extract Shallot, young coconut water, and extract bean sprouts. Second factor consisting of 4 level that is concentration of some hormonal growth organic of  0% (contro), 15 %, 25% and 35%. The result showed that the influence of some organic hormonal growth were affected to amount of shoot, long of shoot, root, and root wight. This research show that the concentration some hormonal growth affeected to amount of shoot, long of shoot, root, long of root and root wight. Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effect of young coconut water concentration, Trichoderma species, and the interaction which is used in the biopriming process to increased viability and vigor of expired chili seed. This research was conducted at Seed Science and Technology Laboratory and Plant Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University. The design used completely randomized design (CRD) 4 x 4 factorial with three replications. Factors studied consisted of young coconut water concentration factor (0%, 10%, 15% and 20%) and Trichoderma species (without Trichoderma, Trichoderma virens, Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma asperellum). Seed viability and vigor were estimated by maximum growth potential, percentage of germination, relative growth speed, simultaneity grow, required time to reach 50% total of relative germination (T), Index of vigor, normal seedling wet weight and normal seedling dry weight. The expired chili seed treatment with concentration young coconut water 15% showed the best value to the increasing of viability and vigor of chilli seed. Species of Trichoderma harzianum showed the best value to the increasing of viability and vigor of chilli seed. There is a significant interaction between the young coconut water and Trichoderma species, the best combination was found in concentration of 15% young coconut water and Trichoderma harzianum to increase the viability and vigor of chilli seed. Keywords: index of vigor, normal seedling dry weight, percentage of germination growth speed

Abstract

Melon plants is one of the selling price of horticultural commodities are relatively good and it was a lot of consumer demand. Therefore, the general market outlook for commodities is quite good, so the development deserves attention. As efforts to increase growth and yield of melon, needs to be done ballanced fertilization with NPK fertilizer. Mulching intended to preserve agricultural land by using organic materials, inorganic and remnants of harvest. This study aims to determine the effect of mulch type and dose of NPK fertilizer on growth and yield tangible melon and whether or not the advance of the second interaction of these factors. Research conducted at the Village Cot Kuta, District Likes Makmue Nagan Raya district, on September 25, 2014 to December 20, 2014. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) with a 3x3 factorial design, consisting of two factors: the type and dose of NPK fertilizer mulch. Factors types of mulch consists of three levels ie straw mulch, black plastic mulch silver and a bunch of mulch palm. Factor NPK fertilizer dose consists of three levels ie 40 grams per plant, 80 grams per plant and 120 grams per plant. The parameters analyzed include plant height, number of nodes, segment length, days to flowering, fruit number and fruit weight. The results showed that the growth and production of the best melon found in each factor silver black plastic mulch treatment and dosage of NPK fertilizer 80 grams per plant.Keywords: growth, melon, NPK, type of mulch

Abstract

The study was conducted in Abeuk Reuling village of Sawang subdistrict, North Aceh District. The aims of this study was to determined the response of NPK fertilizer, the type of ameliorants and the interaction between both treatment of the soil physic properties and the growth of paddy rice on new paddy field. The methods of this study based on a randomized block design factorial 4 x 4 and repeated 3 times, which consists of a dose of NPK and the type of ameliorants. The results showed that the interaction of dose of NPK fertilizer and type of ameliorants is highly siginificant effect on the soil physic properties that is bulk density, soil porosity dan aggregate stability index. While the single effect of dose of NPK fertilizer and type of ameliorants is highly siginificant effect on plant growth that is plant height at 30, 45, 90 days after planting and the number of tillers per hill. Keywords: ameliorant, new paddy field, NPK fertilizer, soil physic properties

Abstract

Study of color and organoleptic tests on sweet potato clones has been done. Indonesia is a country that has the potential availability of food as a source of carbohydrate that is large enough in terms of resource potential of the region, one of the sources of carbohydrates are types of tubers such as sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.). Diversification on sweet potatoes can be used as an alternative community in meeting the food other than rice. The potential and benefits of sweet potato as an alternative food material is enormous, especially in improving human nutrition and food security. The purpose of this study was to determine the color and panelists acceptance of the sweet potato clones. Result of this study was to obtain preliminary information about color and preference of the panelists on sweet potato clones before it is processed. The results showed that the color of sweet potatoes significantly different at all clones of sweet potato, sweet potato color of the brightest contained in sweet potato clones K15 followed K7 and K9. Panelists preferred the clones K6, while the form of panelists selecting clones K6, K2, followed by K11, K12, K13, K14 and K16. As for the exterior texture, panelists chose K16, and textures in the selected panelists is K1, K10 and K13. Keywords: clone, color, organoleptic, sweetpotato

Abstract

This study aims to know the effect of the nutrient potassium to stomatal opening and drought resistance. The design used in this study is a randomized block design (RAK) 3x2 factorial repeated 4 times to harvest I and II. Factor 1 (K): KCl 0, 50, 100 kg / ha. Factor 2: enough water (air conditioning), water less (AK). Dose of fertilizer: Urea 200 kg / ha and KCl according to treatment-given 2 times, SP-36 100 kg/ha at planting. Observations were in leaf area, protein content, the width of stomata, net assimilation rate (LAB), relative growth rate (LPN), and the ratio of leaf area (NLD). Net assimilation rate was not significantly different among all treatments. The results showed that the harvest II occurred a real difference to the given leaf area with no water, but potash fertilizer was not significantly different. Net assimilation rate was not significantly different among all treatments. Water shortage conditions give real effect to the width of stomata in comparison to other treatments. Provision of adequate water is a significant real influence on the content of proline. There is no interaction between the provision of water and potassium fertilizer to the total dry weight of the harvest 2 at treatment K1A1 (K50 and less water) was lower than treatment K2A2 (K100 and enough water).Keywords: corn, drought resilience, potassium fertilizers, stomata

Abstract

This research to know response organic materials and some varieties to cucumber to result and growth atultisol and whet herthere is interaction both of factor.This research have been executed by in Garden Agriculture Faculity of TeukuUmar University Meulaboh, Aceh Barat Started 3 July up to 7 September 2015.This research to used is a randomized blokc desigh (RBD) with 3 x 4 and 3 with there replications. The first factor is  varieties 3 level: Hercules, Mercy, and Wuku. The second factor is organic material; 4 level that is control (without treatmant),10 tons/hectare, 20 tons/hectare, and 30 tons / hectare set organic. The results showed that the varieties signifcantly affectted plant height 15, 20, and 25 days after plantiny length diameter fruit. Where as 15 and 20 days after planting, fruit weight and production tons/hectare. Showed no significant effect on dose organic plant heigh 15, 20, and 25 days after planting, fruit weigh, fruit length, fruit to diameter, and productions total tons/hectare. Abstract

This study was conducted to assess effects of nitrogen fertilizer doses and local Aceh rice varieties on growth, nutrient uptake and efficiency uptake of nitrogen. Experiment was conducted in Aneuk Glee Village, Indrapuri Sub District, Aceh Besar District. Nitrogen uptake analysis was conducted at Laboratory of Soil Research Center, Bogor. Experimental design used was a split plot design with three replications. Factors evaluated consisted of nitrogen fertilizer doses (0 kg ha-1, 90 kg ha-1 and 180 kg ha-1) as main plots and varieties (20 varieties) as subplot. Data were collected for plant height, number of tillers, fresh weight biomass, dry weight biomass, nutrient uptake and nitrogen uptake efficiency. Results showed that nitrogen fertilizer dose exerted highly significant effects on plant height at ages 35 and 49 days after transplanting (DAT), number of tillers at ages 10, 20 and 30 DAT and significant effects on plant height age 21 DAT, fresh and dry weight biomass and nitrogen uptake efficiency. Varieties exerted a highly significant effect on plant height at age 35 DAT and significant effects on fresh and dry weight biomass. There was no significant interaction between doses of nitrogen fertilizer and varieties on all variables observed. Keywords: efficiency uptake of nitrogen, nitrogen fertilzer dose, nutrient uptake, rice variety
