Abstract

One of the important pests attacking coconut palm is Ulat Pemakan Daun Kelapa Sawit (UPDKS) like the Caterpillar. The management of habitat can be done with clean cultivation practices or cultivation use nuts cover soil (cover crop) to increase natural enemies. The research was carried out in April until July 2017. The purpose of this study was to know the abundance of natural enemies population Caterpillar fire contained in research. The location of the research consists of a private plantation with a cover crop and land communities without a cover crop. Observations of the Caterpillar's fire done every week, from first week to third week. The observation is done by swiping pitfall trap method and net. Each block palm oil taken 5 plot used to sweep net and each plot placed 2 pitfall trap. The abundance of natural enemies population level Caterpillar fires on plantation with a cover crop of 137 individuals. The community's land without a cover crop of 107 individuals. Natural enemies was found in the predator type of land cover crop as much as 88% and natural enemies of type parasitoid as much as 12%. Predator type natural enemies present on the land without a cover crop as much as 99% and parasitoid type of natural enemies as much as 1%. Keywords : caterpillar, natural enemies, palm oil, parasitoid, predator

Abstract

Unwise use of pesticides have some negative impacts on the environment. The impact of unwise use of pesticides will certainly cause serious problems for the agricultural world. Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) can be one of the solutions of dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizer and pesticide products. This study aims to determine the effect of PGPR biological application on the diversity and abundance of Arthropod visitors of mustard plants. This research was conducted by using fit fall trap and sweeping net method by comparing of mustard plants applied by PGPR with control. The application of PGPR biodiversity affects the diversity of visitors Arthropod mustard plants, where as many as 9 species of arthropods found in mustard plant control while in mustard plants with PGPR application only found 3 species of Arthropods. The application of PGPR biological fertilizer also influences the abundance of Arthropod visitors of mustard plants, where the number of arthropods caught on controlled mustard plants is much higher than that of the mustard plants with PGPR treatment. Abstract

The research aimed to know about the level of fertility and sold price of TBC to the productivity and income of farmer effort palm field in Labuhanbatu regency. The research was done in Labuhanbatu regerency taking of sample by used stratified random sampling as many as 30 estate with extensive gardens ranging from 0,5 ha up to 10 ha and the age of its vegetation varies, i.e.ranging from 2,5 years to 18 years. Data was analized by multiple regression test, F-test and t-test againts the influence of the independent variable agains. The results showed that simultaneouly fertilizer urea, SP-36, mop and kiserit real effect againts oil palm productivity. Partially, fertilizer urea, mop and kiserit real effect againts the production of palm oil, but fertilizer sp-36 effect is not real agains oil palm productivity, the selling price of oil palsm TBS connecting unreal with in come of farmer oil palm. Keywords : Fertilization, Production and Income, Selling price of TBS

Abstract

The design used was a single randomized block design with the dosage of petroganic fertilizer ie: treatment (O0: 0 g / plant, O1: 5 g / plant, O2: 5.5 g / plant and O3: 6 g / plant). Parameters observed were: number of plant leaves (strands), plant leaf area (cm), wet weight of plant (g). The results of this study can be concluded that: 1.Response of Petroganik fertilizer to the number of leaves of mustard plant (Bransissca rapa var.parachinensis) In polybags has no significant effect. 2. The response of Petroganic fertilizer to the area of leaves of the mustard greens (Bransissca rapa var.parachinensis) is seen to have an effect on the real possibility in this observation. Petroganic fertilizers have the right elements in the leaf enlargement such as N. 3. Response of Petroganic fertilizer to wet weight of mustard plant (Bransissca rapa var.parachinensis) Does not seem to influence significantly and even the excessive dosage giving the weight of the plant is less likely to be in this case the nutrient in the fertilizer becomes the residue to the plant so that the mustard plant is poisoned resulting in decreasing the weight of the plant Keywords: Bottled Bottom, Petroganic Fertilizer.

Abstract

The objective of testing some cocoa seed germination methods is to obtain information on growing ability based on sprout speed, sprout test, and vigilance. Seed germination is also influenced by the long immersion in water, the longer the soaking time germination will also be faster. The purpose of this research is to know the growth of cocoa beans to sometime soaking with fruit flesh and without meat. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of College of Agricultural Sciences of Labuhan Batu University Foundation, North Sumatera Province. This research started from March to May 2016, using factorial randomized block design with 2 factors of treatment that is the long factor of immersion and flesh factor. The old factors of immersion with 6 levels are: P1 = 2 hours, P2 = 4 hours, P3 = 6 hours, P4 = 8 hours, P5 = 10 hours, P6 = 12 hours. Factor of fruit with two levels, namely: using fruit and fruitless meat. Parameters observed included shoot number, shoot height (cm), root length (cm), wet weight of germination (g), and sprout dry weight (g). The results showed that the method of soaking the seeds was effective to increase the sprout growth rate without affecting the viability of the cocoa sprouts. Keywords: cocoa, long immersion.
