Abstract

Effect of application of liquid chicken manure on the growth of peanut plants (Arachis hypogeaeL) in peatlandas of Tetap Jaya Village, Marbau District, Labuhanbatu Utara Regency. This research was conducted in May until July 2017. The research method used was average. The data obtainedwere from plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), and stem diameter (mm). Then the data is averaged. The result show that with the application of liquid manure fertilizer, the growth rate plants is faster than without the application of liquid manure. In the treatment application of liquid manure fertilizer showed a high average yield (16,60 cm), leaf valume (37,30 helai), stem diameter (5,56 mm) and without treatment applied liquid manure fertilizer showed high average yield (10, 99 cm), leaf volume (31,71 strands), and stem diameter (4,86 mm). The result show that the high growth of plants, leaves, and diameter of peanut tree treated with poultry manure application, the growth rate faster than that without the use of liquid manure application. Abstract

Celery (Apium graveolens L.) is a vegetable plant that has long been known in Indonesia. Celery plants have many benefits. Celery plants come from Europe, especially in the Mediterranean region around the Mediterranean Sea. This plant spreads to the Plains of China, India, Central Asia, Ethiopia, South and Central Mexico and the United States the influence of NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of celery plants on peat media. This research was conducted on Kenanga Street, Teluk Panji IV, Kampung Rakyat Subdistrict, Labuhan Batu Selatan Regency, at an altitude of ± 23 m above sea level. This activity will be carried out from February 2019 to May 2019. The design used is a randomized single factor group design that is with NPK fertilizer dosage: Treatment P0: (control), P1: (5 g / plant) P2: (10 g / plant ). The parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), number of tillers, harvest weight (g). From the results of data analysis it was found that the effect of NPK Phonska fertilizer (15; 15; 15) can increase the growth of celery plant. The highest plant height (11.93 cm) Number of leaves (6.5 strands) Number of tillers (8.66) Weight of harvest (17.5 g). NPK Phonska fertilizer (15; 15; 15) is recommended with a dose of P2: (10 g / plant). Keywords : Celery (Apium graveolens L.), NPK, Peat Soil

Abstract

Sweet corn is one of the commodity crops that can take part in the development of agriculture weed is a plant that no wants to grow. The presence of weed in the corn plants causes the plant productivity down. The research aims to know the effects of growing distances and weeds on the produce of sweet corn. This study was carried out in the village of Asam Jawa, Torgamba sub-district, South Labuhanbatu Regency in January until March 2018. The design used is the randomized design of the group. There are three diffrent types of plant distances that are 75 cm x 25 cm, 50 cm x 25 cm, 50 cm x 25 cm with a combination of treatment without broadcast,it is spent 7 days after planting, 14 days after palnting, 21 days after growing and clean investigation during research.The number of deuteronomy consists of 3 and each of the deuteronomy consists of 73 plants and file obtained by the method of rate. The research has shown that the high plants highest plant is found at 60 cm x 25 cm (J2) and the lowest found at 50 cm x 25 cm (J3). The number of leaves are much the same in every plants distances. The largest diameter of the stems is foud at 60 cm x 25 cm (J2) and a small diameter of the smallest stick is found at 50 cm x 25 cm (J3). The biggest weed is gained at a distance of 75 cm x 25 cm (J1) and the size of the smallest weed is foud at 50 cm x 25 cm (J3). The largest yields of corn comes at a distance of 60 cm x 25 cm (J2) and the least amount of corn is found at a distance of 50 cm x 25 cm (J3). Keywords : growing distance, sweet corn, weed

Abstract

Fragrant lemongrass (Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt) is one of the volatile oil-producing plants With high economic value, about 80% of citronella oil produced by Indonesia is exported to various countries. Citronella oil is multi-useful in the pharmaceutical industry and in the perfume industry as a fragrance in various perfumed oil products. This study aims to determine the chemical properties of the soil in the field of citronella farmer group, Sidorukun Village, to determine the citronellal content, oil content and specific gravity of citronella oil meet the requirements set out in the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). And the hedonic test to find out the community's response to citronella oil. This research was carried out from March 2021 to May 2021. The results of the analysis of chemical properties in 2 different locations showed that low soil chemical properties affected the growth and yield of citronella. The analysis of citronella oil showed that the citronella content, oil content and specific gravity of citronella oil (Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt) produced by the Karyatani Farmers' Group in Sidorukun Village were 41.32%, 0.87% and 0.8881, respectively. This shows that the citronellal content of min 35%, oil content of 0.60% and specific gravity of 0.880-0.922 has met SNI 06-3953-1995, the duration of distillation is an important factor for the high yield of citronellal content, oil content and specific gravity. The hedonic test showed that the color of citronella oil was very liked by the panelists, as well as the smell of citronella oil, the panelists liked it and the taste of citronella oil when applied to the panelists' skin, they liked it and some thought it was normal.Key words: Essential Oils, Citronella, Soil Chemical Properties, Hedonic Test

Abstract

Efforts to increase the production of chilli plants are still experiencing obstacles. One of the diseases caused by fungi is fusarium wilt disease caused by Fusarium sp. The existence of this fungus attack makes one of the limiting factors that cause a decrease in red chili production. Local microorganism (MOL) solution is a fermented solution made from various local available resources. MOL solution contains micro and macro nutrients and also contains bacteria that have the potential to remodel organic matter, stimulate growth, and as a controlling agent for pests and plant diseases, so that MOL can be used both as a decomposer, biological fertilizer and as an organic pesticide, especially as a fungicide.In this research, bacterial isolation from MOL bamboo shoots will be carried out and then tested the isolates on Fusarium sp. The data of this research were analyzed descriptive. The results of isolation from bamboo shoot MOL which has been fermented for use as POC, obtained 8 bacterial isolates with different macroscopic and microscopic characteristics. All obtained bacterial isolates have the potential to inhibit the growth of fusarium fungal colonies. The most potential bacterial isolate was M6 isolate with a diameter of a pathogenic fungal colony that grew only by 2.1 cm. Keywords: Fusarium sp., Local Microorganisms, Bamboo Shoots

Abstract

The design used was a single randomized block design with the dosage of petroganic fertilizer ie: treatment (O0: 0 g / plant, O1: 5 g / plant, O2: 5.5 g / plant and O3: 6 g / plant). Parameters observed were: number of plant leaves (strands), plant leaf area (cm), wet weight of plant (g). The results of this study can be concluded that: 1.Response of Petroganik fertilizer to the number of leaves of mustard plant (Bransissca rapa var.parachinensis) In polybags has no significant effect. 2. The response of Petroganic fertilizer to the area of leaves of the mustard greens (Bransissca rapa var.parachinensis) is seen to have an effect on the real possibility in this observation. Petroganic fertilizers have the right elements in the leaf enlargement such as N. 3. Response of Petroganic fertilizer to wet weight of mustard plant (Bransissca rapa var.parachinensis) Does not seem to influence significantly and even the excessive dosage giving the weight of the plant is less likely to be in this case the nutrient in the fertilizer becomes the residue to the plant so that the mustard plant is poisoned resulting in decreasing the weight of the plant Keywords: Bottled Bottom, Petroganic Fertilizer.

Abstract

Dampak terhadap lingkungan maupun ekonomi dan pendapatan petani akibat dari pemakaian pupuk kimia semakin menjadi perhatian. Oleh karena itu, beredar berita untuk flashback ke alam dalam kegiatan pertanian, yaitu dengan memanfaatkan bahan-bahan alami untuk kebutuhan pembuatan pupuk. Dari pembuatan pupuk organik dapat menghemat biaya produksi, sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan petani. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah: 1). Memberikan sosialisasi dan pelatihan kepada pada ketua kelompok tani dan para Ibu/Bapak  anggota petani untuk membuat pupuk organik yang ramah lingkungan. 2). Mengetahui efektivitas pelatihan yang diadakan bagi para kelompok tani dan petani. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara menyosialisasikan dengan menyampaikan materi secara teori di Desa Tebing Tinggi Pangkatan, Kecamatan Pangkatan, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Kemudian diikuti dengan melakukan praktik langsung pembuatan pupuk organik bersama para petani. Untuk melakukan pelatihan para petani dibagi dalam 2 kelompok kerja, masing-masing kelompok tersebut diberi kesempatan untuk melakukan praktik langsung membuat pupuk organik. Kegiatan dilakukan selama 5 jam, dengan target 20 peserta. Dari hasil kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 Januari 2022: 1). Telah memberikan pengetahuan dan keahlian kepada para petani untuk membuat pupuk organik. 2). Acara berjalan secara efektif dengan melihat hasil evaluasi yang sesuai dengan target pencapaian.

Abstract

Dalam penanggulangan dan pencegahan kerusakan ekosistem hutan dan lahan pertanian, keterlibatan para pihak sangat diperlukan, baik dari sejak perencanaan hingga implementasi kegiatan. Keterlibatan masyarakat dalam merealisasikan teknologi pemanfaatan lahan pada setiap kegiatan sosial-ekonominya sangat penting dengan prinsip dasar pada perbaikan kapasitas penyerapan (infiltrasi) dan kapasistas penyimpanan tanah terhadap air (memperbesar daya jerap dan daya simpan tanah terhadap air). Teknologi pemanfaatan lahan, seperti penanaman pohon, manajemen tanah dan pemupukan merupakan rentetan teknologi pengelolaan DAS yang penting dan memerlukan keterlibatan semua pihak, termasuk masyarakat. Adapun metode kegiatan yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan metode, ceramah, diskusi, simulasi, dan penyuluhan. Sasaran dari kegiatan ini yaitu kelompok tani pulau kampai, Anak-anak sekolah, dan masyarakat sekitar pantai. Berbekal informasi inilah, kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat dilakukan untuk lebih memberikan wawasan pada masyarakat di Desa Pulau Kampai tentang pemgelolaan hutan mangrove melalui penanaman pohon-pohon mangrove dan manajemen tanah dan pemupukan. Dari hasil kegiatan tersebut, penanaman pohon mangrove berjalan dengan lancar sesuai dengan yang direncanakan, hal ini terlihat jumlah pohon mangrove yang 500 batang 1 bulan setelah selesai kegiatan terlihat tumbuh dengan baik. Disamping itu juga masyarakat terlihat sangat antusias dalam menjaga lingkungan setelah kegiatan selesai.
