Abstract

Rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) is a medicinal plant. Rosela has a chemical compound that can provide many benefits. Efficacy of rosella to prevent disease, treat disorders of various diseases with gossiptin anthocyanin content and gluciside hibiscin contained in it. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of College of Agricultural Sciences of Labuhan Batu University Foundation, North Sumatera Province. This research was started in March 2017. This research used Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with the harvesting period (P) P0: Control, P1: 1, Clock P2: 2 Hours, P3: 3 Hours P4: 4 Hours P5: 5 Hours P6: 6 Hours P: 7 Hours. The highest rate of germination was found in P7 treatment of 3.22 days. The highest normal germination percentage was found in P5 and P7 treatment of 66.67%. Than highest abnormal germination percentege was found in P3, P4 and P6 treatment of 33.33 %. Keywords : Rosela, Old Immersion

Abstract

The research was conducted on the land Village Acid Gambangan North Labuhan Batu. This study was conducted in May until completed by design of a randomized (RAK) factorial one factor of five treatments: P0: 0 ml / polybag, P1: 125 ml / polybag, P2: 250 ml / polybag, P3: 375 ml / polybag, P4: 500 ml / polybag, and continued with Duncan test. Parameters measured were plant height (cm), leaf area (cm), plant fresh weight (g). From Reviews These results we concluded as follows: (1) Providing a liquid organic fertilizer waste vegetable markets significantly affected plant height swamp land at the age of 14 HST and 28 HST, (2) Organic fertilizer liquid waste vegetable market significantly Affect the broad leaf kale land at 14 HST and 28 HST. Abstract

The objective of testing some cocoa seed germination methods is to obtain information on growing ability based on sprout speed, sprout test, and vigilance. Seed germination is also influenced by the long immersion in water, the longer the soaking time germination will also be faster. The purpose of this research is to know the viability of cocoa beans to sometime immersion using meat and fruit without fruit, this research was conducted at the Laboratory of College of Agricultural Sciences of Labuhan Batu University Foundation, North Sumatera Province. This research used factorial randomized block design with 2 factors of treatment that is the long factor of immersion and flesh factor. The old factors of immersion with 6 levels are: P1 = 2 hours, P2 = 4 hours, P3 = 6 hours, P4 = 8 hours, P5 = 10 hours, P6 = 12 hours. Factor of fruit with two levels, namely: using fruit and fruitless meat. Parameters observed included germination rate (day), normal sprouts (%), abnormal germination (%), dead seed (%), vigor index (%). The results showed that the method of soaking the seeds was effective to increase the sprout growth rate without affecting the viability of cocoa sprouts. Keywords: cocoa, long immersion

Abstract

The ingredients of MSG derived from nature, especially vegetable materials, cause the MSG solution decompose with other substances. Utilization of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) as a stimulant of plant growth can be applied to various types of plants. The aim of this study was to know the effect of MSG on the growth of oil palm seed (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in pre nursery. This research was conducted with 8 treatments and 3 replications, in which P0: Control, P1: 5 gram / 200 ml, P2: 10 gram / 200 ml, P3: 15 gram / 200 ml, and P4: 20 gram / 200 ml, P5: 25 gram / 200 ml, P6: 30 gram / 200 ml, P7: 35 gram / 200 ml. Observations were done after 4 MST with 2 weekly measurements up to 14 MST. The best rate of the height, the length and the number of leaves of the oil palm plant were at the dosage of P6 (30 grams / 200 ml). Abstract

The method used is a randomized block design (RBD) with 12 factorial combinations of treatments and 3 replications, Cow manure factor consists of 4 levels, namely: K1 = 10 kg / plot, K2 = 15 kg / plot, K3 = 20 kg / plot, K4 = 25 kg / plot, while the planting distance factors consists of 3 levels, namely: J1 = 20 x 30 cm, J2 = 20 x 40 cm, J3 = 20 x 50 cm. There are 5 parameters observed, namely plant height (cm), number of leaves (pieces), flowering (days), production of planting seed sample (g), seed production per plot (g). The Cow manure and planting distance treatment showed very significant effect on the parameters flowering, seed production per plant samples, and production of seeds per plot, while there was no significant influence on the parameters of plant height and number of leaves. treatment plant award distance showed a significant influence on the parameters of plant height and flowering date, but there was also a significant effect on production parameters of seeds per plant and seed production samples per plot. While there was no significant effect on the parameters of the number of leaves. Interaction cow manure and planting distance effect was not significantly affected all parameters were observed. Abstract

Percentage analysis of CPO (Crude Palm Oil) index in PKS PTPN III Aek Nabara Selatan Kecamatan Bilah upstream. The results of this study by presenting the data using IBM SPSS 20.0 can be concluded the results of multiple linear regression calculation declared the amount of CPO production to the influence of free fatty acids, water content, impurity content in PKS PTPN III Aek Nabara Selatan Kecamatan Bilah Hulu. This shows the results of a strong and positiveget value of 0.8 close to 1 it means to have the effect of the amount of CPO production in PKS PTPN III Kebun Aek Nabara Selatan with the value of R-Square 0.008 can be interpreted that the influence of Fatty Acids Free, Water Content, Impurities concentration to the production amount of 8% (0.8) while the remaining 98.2%  is influenced by other models not included in the test.   Keywords : CPO, impurity level, water content

Abstract

The objective of the research was to know effect of treatment low temperature and cryoprotectants, and combination to seed viability of rosele. The research was conducted at the Seed Technology Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan with height ± 25 meters above sea level, in January to February 2014, using a randomized block design with 4 level low temperature stratification and cryoprotectants treatment as well combination and control. Parameters observed were moisture content seed (%), germination rate (day), germination normal (%), abnormal sprouts (%), seeds die (%), vigor index (%), wet weight of sprouts (g), dry weight of sprouts (g). The results showed that rosele seed viability using provision cryoprotectants and cooling rate -5°C the best result in treatments other. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer on banana stem waste on the growth and production of tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill). This research was carried out in the form of field experiments conducted in Pinang Lombang Upper Village, NA IX-X District, North Labuhanbatu Regency. This study was prepared using Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 (five) treatments, namely O0 = Control, O1 = 200 ml, O2 = 300 ml, O3 = 400 ml, and O4 = 500 ml. Each replication has 40 plant samples, so the total sample is 120 plants. Parameters observed were: Plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and weight of fresh fruit. Data were analyzed using the F test then followed by tukey test. The results showed that the best treatment was to use 400 ml of liquid organic fertilizer banana / plant stem waste. Abstract

Rainfed rice fields are paddy fields whose water sources depend on rainfall without permanent irrigation structures. This study aimed to identify fertility variables that are obstacles in Beringin Subdistrict by evaluating soil fertility status and reviewing management alternatives that are in accordance with the soil fertility status found in rainfed lowland rice fields in several villages in Beringin Subdistrict, Deli Serdang District.This research was a phenomenological qualitative descriptive study with land survey and supported by qualitative laboratory analysis. The taking of soil samples was carried out in the survey area sequentially based on the location of the estimated nature of the soil with the purposive random sampling method. The taking of soil samples was taken in the upper layer at the top soil depth of 0-20 cm, and the coordinates of the point were recorded using GPS.The fertility status of paddy fields in BeringinSubdistrict was classified as high, medium, and low soil fertility status. High soil fertility in P-total soil parameters in all villages, for medium land in K2O parameters in all villages, while for low land status in N-total land parameters in all villages. Prompts for giving urea fertilizer without organic matter as much as 250 kg ha-1, with 5 tons of straw ha-1 adding urea fertilizer as much as 230 kg ha-1 and using 2 tons of manure ha-1 giving urea fertilizer as much as 225 kg ha-1.P fertilization in medium status paddy fields is 75 kg SP-36 ha-1, and high P fertility status is 50 kg ha-1SP-36. K fertilizer application for high soil fertility status is 50 kg ha-1. Prompts for organic fertilizer using compost of rice straw equal to 5 tons ha-1 and or manure 2 tons ha-1. Keywords: Status of N,P,K, Rainfed Rice Field, Beringin District
