Abstract

Sweat consist of both water and electrolytes, including chloride ion, so if the excretion of water and electrolyte is not corrected can disturb the body’s homeostasis and health. This study aimed to determine the different of chloride ion (Cl-) levels in the blood of volleyball players Ngudia Husada Madura STIKes between before and after playing volleyball 2 sets and 5 sets. This study was a pre –experimental with one group pretest-posttest, with two variables, namely the duration of playing volleyball and the levels of chloride ion (Cl-), the volleyball player population was 12 respondents. The sampling method was purposive sampling to obtain a total sample of 12 respondents blood sampling was performed before and after playing volleyball 2 sets and 5 sets for examination of chloride (Cl-) ion levels. The results showed that before playing volleyball the average value of chloride ion (Cl-) was 99,27 mEq/l, , after playing volleyball 2 sets and 5 sets in a row had an average value of chloride ion (Cl-) 99,58 mEq/l, and 99,72 mEq/l, . The statistical test results showed p = 0.04. It was concluded that there were significant differences in the levels of chloride ions(Cl-) When playing volleyball, there is a lot of sweat coming out, accompanied by some electrolyte fluid in the body so that it is necessary to pay attention to fluid and electrolyte intake from outside.

Abstract

Widal examination is an agglutination examination using suspension of Salmoella typhi and S. Paratyphi as antigens to detect the presence of antibodies against Salmoella typhi or S. Paratyphi in patient's serum. Salmonella infections in humans can vary in the form of infections that can heal itself (gastroenteritis), but can also be a serious case if there is a systemic spread (enteric fever). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of delaying the slide method widal examination in typhoid fever patients at Anna Medika Madura General Hospital. This research uses a quasi-experimental method (pre-experiment / quasi experimental design). The variable of this study is the effect of the delay of the Widal Slide Method examination. The population was 25 patients at Anna Medika Madura Public Hospital, while the sample was 25 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Examination of widal serology test using the slide method. The analysis technique used in this study was the Repeated Anova Measure test. The statistical test results of this study were obtained the level of confidence α = 5% (0.05) with P value> α 0.05 ie P Value = 0.354 then H0 received H1 was rejected, so it can be concluded that there was no effect of delaying the widal slide examination method in typhoid fever patients at Anna Medika Madura Public Hospital.

Abstract

Smoking is one of the health problems that is difficult to solve even has become a national and international problem. One of the negative effects of smoking is a decrease in HDL levels in the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of HDL levels in active adult smokers aged 31-35 years in RT.04 / RW.01 Mlajah Bangkalan Village. This research is a descriptive study, with a research design using cross sectional design. The variable of this study is the level of HDL in active smokers with a population of 15 respondents selected as samples using total sampling. The data collection method uses a photometer, the data obtained are then presented in a frequency distribution table. The results of research on HDL levels of active smokers mostly low HDL levels less than 60 mg / dl with 11 respondents (73.33%) .This happens because the nicotine contained in cigarette smoke will stimulate the hormone adrenaline which will consequently interfere with fat metabolism which causes HDL levels in the body decrease. From the results of this study it is expected that a smoker should reduce smoking habits and better carry out regular health checks.
